  1. Its gone because the weather got warmer, the true test is next winter when it gets cold again.
  2. Congrats on the new GS. The TPMS sensors itself will cost you about $800, I would ask the owner if he or she still have them. Rattles and creaks usually come from the dash board, it get worst when its cold out. Most Lexus dealer became experts at fixing dash rattles, but usually the rattles will come back sooner or later after the fix. The small black box on the windshield is the rain sensor, I dont believe the 06 have the sat. radio shark fin antenna in the back. You can still get Sat radio, you just need to install a Sat radio module and a antenna. The engine ticking noise is pretty common in the Toyota V6, the GS350 has a even louder noise due to the direct injectors.
  3. The 2008 GS have the same problems, Lexus havent improve a thing about the rattles.
  4. Dont forget about the horsepower gain from the 06 to 07, its like two totally different cars.
  5. Zep no need to get upset :) A average deal is not a bad deal, I have seen worst. KBB list your car at $19500 thru private party sales at fair condition. Most 2006 GS have been going for low $20 K, which is a average deal. A great deal for a 06 GS would be $20K or below with more options. Enjoy your GS and dont sweat it.
  6. Deal of the century? No. Average deal? Yes.
  7. No problem, you are welcome. I had owned 4 Lexus and the GX was my favorite Lexus as well. Its design is about 7 years old, but it was design well. The truck is solid and comfortable, good luck with your GX.
  8. You might want to re-post this question in the GX470 section.
  9. I have a bad feeling about the outcome of this one
  10. The MSRP mark up is about $6000 on the GS, if your friend's car is a demo or a test drive unit, then its resonable.
  11. $2200 will buy you a 7 year 100000 miles Lexus platnium warranty, which is the best one Lexus offer. It will cover everything except the wear and tear items. Call this guy up at: Troy Dietric Toyota of Greenfield 12 Olive Street Greenfield, MA 01301 TDietrich@FactoryDiscountWarranty.com Phone - (413) 772-0231 (Dealership) Phone - (413) 772-0989 (Direct line). 12. Viper is a pretty good brand, make sure the remote starter has a immobilzer bypass module. A 7 year, 100000 miles extended warranty from the dealer is about $2700, but you can get it on the internet for about $2200.
  13. Hi greensleave, I am from Boston as well. I had a 08 GS350 much like you, rattles everywhere, my blood pressure use to rise 20 points everytime I drove the GS. It has been back to the dealer 4 times for rattles and three times for the squeaky brakes in 6 months. The dealer had taken apart the dash and other panels. They were able to fix some of the rattles but not all. I traded in the GS after 6 months under the advise of my doctor :)
  14. Not too many 27 year olds can afford a $60000 car. :)
  15. Maybe what your wife really want is a moblie home :) :)
  16. I thought you cannot program a any key without the master key. The dealer might needs to re-program or replace the ECM for the new keys. You should replace all the key cylinders for a peace of mind.
  17. pkp207, if you are the type who hates rattles, skip on the GS. The dealer can fix the rattle sort of, but not completly. Anytime you dis-assemble the whole dash, you are asking for problem.
  18. Not a big fan of the Dunlops, the Michelin pilots are much better.
  19. That shifter reflection problem: is that only when the sunroof is open? THANKS I am not sure since I had the 08 GS. The 06 and 07 GS has a polish plastic shift plate and the 08+ have a non polish metal shift plate.
  20. They also move some of the most often used buttons out of the left-knee-fold-out-control panel after 07. The 08+ shift plate doesnt shine in your eys anmore when the sun hits it.
  21. The brakes are bigger on the 09, the front and rear bumpers are different as well as the front grill and fog lights. The 09 have a different gauge display and stability off button.
  22. Looking from the front of the car, the air filter is on the left under that black plastic cover.
  23. There is no way you can get that big of a difference in mileage lol.
