  1. Anyone own an Avalon XLS. Thinking this is the car with all the goods for a fair price. Any opinion? Checked out this carfax... Concers are below. Of course my LS was in two minor accidents and it is fine now, so it happens. NYC is bad for a car. 07/11/1997 New York Police Report Case #7-423237 Accident Reported Vehicle involved in crash with another motor vehicle 02/25/2004 56,556 Auto Auction Sold at auction in Eastern Region Listed as a fleet vehicle 04/02/2004 Service Facility Vehicle serviced Electrical system serviced
  2. Anyone familiar with the 70 Volvo, 1998... Looks like a nice car with leather all the goods for 7,000 bucks. Or I see a 3 series 98 with 80k miles for 7,000. Anyone have a Solera? Toyota is so dependable. Anyone have an older Celica? I am thinking about getting one for myself.
  3. Spending a lot of time looking for the stylish midsize with 60k miles for less then 7k. Noticed some 92-96 3 series BMWs. Some are convertable. Anyone have an opinion on these cars. Are they bad in the winter? Are the convertable tops strong and solid? Or just a bunch of noise and problems? Seems to me the SAAB and VW's dont get the best ratings. I might go with an XLS Camery, but there are so many. Also heated seats and the other little extras would be nice! Thanks for any information.
  4. Okay dude your right. Have a nice day and thanks for information. Actually I drive the Ford.
  5. SW knows all. God bless us for his vast knowledge!
  6. Yes, SW is so smart. I am getting a 93 Ford Taurus. $2000 midsize, power and V6. Also I can take a two month vacation to Puerto Rico with the $15000 saved instead of a new car! Cheers
  7. NC211 so you say go with the Accord or a 98 Maxima. We want something that is safe with good mileage. Something with a bit of style. The thing that stinks about the Camery is that there are 20 in every parking lot. Thanks for the good review on the BMWti. They state it is some what reliable, but after that review I am concerned.
  8. Honestly I am looking for a good car for local travel for 5 to $6000. So a 96 BMW 318ti is not a bad option. Other cars include 98 Maxima and Toyota Camery/Corolla's. The car she is looking for is a bit sporty, dependable and also mid size. The LS400 is to big for her. Also I am trying to get limited miles around 70k or less. So anyone have any options?
  9. Good luck and use your brain more then your mussels! Get to an Air Force base if you need some AC or Cable TV.
  10. Hey ladies and gents. Curious what you all think about this buying opportunity. Would anyone buy a 95 or 98 BMW 318it with 60k? Not built like a LEXUS, but the wife likes. LS is toooo big for her and the ES may be an option, but the BMW is nicer style. Any input greatly appreciated or any direction on a site with BMW info and expectations is greatly appreciated. Also the LS is now at 109,000 and it looks better then ever. Might get it detailed next week.
  11. Yes, sell. In fact give me a call. 703-6961789 and I will put the 2500 into it. Sounds like you have been a great owner. Cheers Maybe I can use it to transport videos to the WWII veterans for AmericanWarrior.us
  12. Thanks for the support.
  13. Hey guys. For sure I agree to do it your self. This time the man fixing my car is like my father. He is awesome and does it right. So the odds are that I would mess up the bolt. So he will do it. Cheers and thanks for all the great advice
  14. Okay so if I put seafoam in the engine and then have mechanic (that I trust) change out oil I will be fine. Is it okay to put in and drive a few miles to mechanic or just go to mechanics and put in sea foam then idle for 10 minutes. Inform mechanic to use a quart or two to clean out crud.
  15. Where does one buy the sea foam? Do you think a mechanic would do this. I don't even want to touch the oil bolt or filter. Not that I am lazy, but I do not trust my skills with cars. I get really mad.
  16. Thanks for the feedback. I will look into the sea foam.
  17. Well good luck. My wheels are wide open so the new drilled and slotted look awesome! Personally I think the ability for the rotor to vent air could drastically reduce break dust and heat, while improving breaking.
  18. http://www.wholesaledirectparts.com Awesome experience and the rotors are awesome zinc plated brembo's. Bottom line is $226 for four. If you need breaks they have Axxis Metal Masters Brake Pads Kit delivered for about $315. This is one of the best purchases I have made to date. No more slight shake and improved breaking with no squeel.
  19. So only 1050 plus tax, parts and other charges. Yeah, 1500 bucks out the door. Get a second opinion.
  20. Hummmm/... My old rotors sucked and were warped. For 200 bucks I got 4 awesome rotors from some place in my previous ROTOR post. Now no more shake. You make a good point this one.
  21. Wow you did alot. Car must look great. Did you have someone repair all the minor scratches and nicks? Well I guess that sucks that LEX FEST is down south. Good for the country boys and Florida fish. One fact is when you go down south there are a lot less LS 400/430s. Maybe there is more IS?
  22. Recently I purchased some overhead lights from Autozone. They produce less then 40% of the LExus lights. Now I need a new yellow front light on the side of the headlight. Should I buy straight from Lexus so I do not get the decrease in performance or total light output?
