Thats great! I hate mechanics that try to screw us. I had one when I was about 20 and he took me for a huge ride. Right after 2k engine work he put a $1200 exhaust on an 89 Trooper. I hate that guy, but now I have the best mechanic. Last week I was Mr. handyman and attempted to fix a ladies windshield wiper motor and fender (R2). That means remove and replace fender. Well anyways I wanted a tan at same time so spent about 4 hours getting pisted off! On top of that the $20 dollar 200 piece tool set I have sucks! Since the fender was in a minor bump and not the exact match it was a pain in the butt. In the end or after 5 hours I fixed the motor (damn wiper arm assembly) and stated it must go to mechanic on Monday. Well $60 dollars later everything was done. The fender was about 75% on and if I had the banged piece on he would have not repaired body work, so it worked out great and I look like the mack!

Hey he did not pay a penny over 16k for that LEXUS. One owner who drove it about 12k a year. Average LEXUS buyer age is 53 so figure a 59 year old traded it in for a new 05. He gave them about 16k towards their 40k car. So after all is said and done they are happy and he is happy to make 4k off of you.

Good job with Carfax I missed that. $300 dollars LCD is by a second hand place not LEXUS. So this may be a 1000 dollar repair. Remember the tires and the fact LEXUS is 6 years old. Althought they last forever so that really is not a big deal, but negotiating with jerk off it will help. In fact dont even negotiate. Get a few more options by cars.com, autotrader.com and then go in there and say 18k, bye.

Also check out the generations and see how much the better the 00 is then the 98 or 99. I think they are almost the same. So if you could save 4k with one year and then $500 in taxes it might be worth your time. On top of that if you drive 10k a year and you can get a 99 with 50k instead of a 00 with 71k miles you would have an extra year. For sure check carfax (dont listen to skum bag/dealer unless its LEXUS (then dont listen to dealer, but mechanic)). DONT RUSH AND PRESSURE YOUR SELF. I needed a car and searched for 2 months. It stuck to wait, but then I found my ideal LEXUS and I am so happy! Also I hear something about GPS not really that good on the 98 models. So dont let that effect your decision to much.

Cars.com : Compare price with those listed Kelly Blue Book (Excellent): Private Party 20k Trade in $15,625 Fix LED is about $300 bucks and your time. Timing belt will be done about 90k : LEXUS $1200 : Local Mechanic $600 Front end usually needs work about 100k : LEXUS $2000+ or Mechanic $1000+ Most of this is regular maintenance and is expected with any car. LEXUS is a tank that will last forever! I own a 93 so expect some input from the 00 owners. Make sure the front end is tight. Use the laymens for laymens guide at top of LS400/430 thread. If its such a great deal it would have sold on the lot in two months. I dont know.. Great LEXUS. If you say its in great condition and its been there for 2 months tell him 18,000. Then leave your number. If he wants to sell fine.

Wow sounds like tough times. Hope your family has a spell of good health and prosperity. As for my self I am a new member with a 93LS400. I love my LEXUS and I attended the LEXFEST (100 LEXUS's in MD). I added a few mods to my LEXUS including wheels, clear bumper lights (awaiting), rear lights and tint. I love the new look. The information on this website is awesome! I feel as if I am a LEXUS engineer. I know the in and outs of this car. When I went to buy I recognized that I knew much more then the sellers. This was a big advantage and really impressed the hell out them, not to mention the negotiating position. Af for life it is weird how generations do move on. In my circle of friends and family there has been a bunch of great aunts and uncles passing on over the past five years. Its weird how we grow. The unexpected is the worse. Ohh yeah today I saw the deeded dark dash. AHHHH it is so scary. All needles were sticking and the dash was black. After a few minutes the dash changed so I am now happy again. Time for Johnny Walker, I mean Jim Walker.

I hear the MXV4+ Energy are great tires. The Bridgeston LSV cost about 160+ per tire. There are some good reviews on tirerack.com

Hello. I saw the eyelids at the LEXFEST with about every other modificatoin. The eyelids looked okay with certain cars. I dont think it would look nice on the 400's? The IS has the sporty look so the eyelids look good.

Bridgestone Tauranza LSV are great tires. I have 3k on mine and they look and feel great!

The 3M people were at the LEXFEST. They stated 1" rock can hit car at 100mph and it will not mess up light. So it sounded and looked good. Good luck

wow. If you bought congrats on owning a LEXUS. As for the price you have a low mileage LEXUS..

$250 bucks repair by Jim Walker. He will also make sure you will not have issues with dashboard lights in the winter. They blink or go out when its cold. I have an issue where tacho and speedo stick on 0 until I smack the dash. They they bounce to right reading. Maybe its the humidity, but Jim does not know how to fix this. $250 is a lot cheeper then the 1200 at LEXUS for a new control board.

Hey man.. I put my smaller sticker in the upper drivers side corner. I think it looks kewl there. I dont want a sticker taking away from the car so I you can see it, but you sort of have to look.
