  1. I'm having problems with unlocking passenger doors. On the factory alarm remote you are essentially to "double click" the unlock button for the passenger doors to unlock. My car/remote seems very tempermental as to when it works. Sometimes I'll have to double click several times for it to fianlly unlock the other doors. Also standing at certain angles to the car it doesnt seems to work at all. Do I have faulty remote? Is this a common problem? Thanks for any input.
  2. LOL.... I'll take a SL55 but only in silver thanks.
  3. After all the work you just put into her you got to keep her for a while. Seems like you ve gotten all the big repairs out of the way for next 100k. Truth is its allways somehting on cars. Id say keep it.
  4. Not really a bad experience as opposed to a ridiculuos quote. Lexus in Bellevue Washington quoted $3000 for timming belt and lower ball joints. I had a hard time not laughing.
  5. Dont imagine cold and rainy is much of a problem in San Diego.
  6. 9k-12k sounds about right. Depends on the market. In Seattle you can get 12k easy.
  7. I have a 95 as well and mine falls into the same gas mileage. 20/21 in town 26/27 on the highway. Good luck
  8. $7000 seems a little bit high to me. At any rate it should be a great car for you. Do you a search on the forum for timing belt change and you will find a slew of information on what all needs to be replaced with the timing belt. For OEM parts http://www.discounttoyotaparts.com/ seems to have the best prices. Good luck and enjoy the car.
  9. I encourage anyone to speak on any topic they please. The byproduct is people will attain knowledge that otherwise would cost them time or money. A great example of this is the detail forum in which you manage. From what I can see RF was suspended because he disagreed with your point of view. He didn't attack you personally nor was he profane. I recall a post by HRP in the "What Should I Do First?, Proper steps to a flawless finish!" in which you said you wouldn't "allow" his endorsement of a product even though it was his opinion. The point to keep in mind is that we come to the forum to gather information and poll people's experiences and OPINIONS. It seems a shame cut the value of the forum by policing people's opinions.
  10. Managment/moderators should keep topics on point and not have their own "conversations". Seems petty to have banned him for any of his posts in this thread.
  11. Has anyone removed the Lexus phone system under the armrest in a GenII? Whats the best place to disconnect the power cable? It would be nice if there was a mod to create more storage under there. Thanks for the input.
  12. nc211 Which two control arms did decide to not to replace ? Was that $630 for labor ? At what mileage did you start to see the "ride" go? Curious for myself down the road.
  13. Any improvements after changing the diff. bushings? Any other thoughts?
  14. whatever you do do not buy them from lextasy.com . This is a bad merchant IMO. They did not return emails and did not have a working phone number. Buyer beware.
  15. I tried the hazards and they didnt work.I took the black underpanel off and could not declare what was the relay. I could see a connection box directly above the fuse box. Maybe this is what im looking for. How would I test the relay once I have found it. Thanks for the help.
  16. I checked the owners manual and it does not say where the relay is located. Does anyone know where to look and what to look for to see if it was fried?
  17. Ill check the relay out. Thanks RFeldes. I also now hear a buzzing sound coming from underneath the steering wheel column when I turn the ignition, maybe near the fuse box.
  18. Just an update. I have been using the new ECU (89661-50224) on my 95 for about two weeks now and no problems so far. I swiched from a California ECU. Noticed a modest increase of quickness which was a bonus. Hope this helps.
  19. I finally got around to installing the clear turnlights on my 95. After testing the left turn signal I tried the right and the fuse blew. I replaced the fuse tried the right signal again and again it blew . I then went to change back to the orginal light bulbs and replaced the fuse again . Now the lights do not work at all. I have checked all the connections and fuses all are good. Only the turn signals do not work, the corner lights next to the turn signals and all other lights work. My pesimistic gut feeling is that something got fried. Any input or suggestions? Thanks.
  20. Has anyone removed the Lexus phone system under the armrest in a LS GenII? Is there a place to disconect the power supply to the cradle or is it safe to clip? Thanks for the input.
  21. Why is it better to use the pressure bleeder than pumping?
  22. To the guys using the Amsoil in the tranny: Are you also using it as power steering fluid?
  23. Are you guys using oem wires and plugs or making an upgrade on those?
