  1. does anyone have the part number for the IACV. I just want to know if it's the same part number as the 01 highlander. It's ~$50 cheaper from a toyota dealer than lexus.
  2. LexKid630, A small label that has a fan and an arrow on it has fallen off my center console and gotten lost. you wouldn't happen to have any of these available or know where I can get one would you? The dealer will only sell it along with the entire console which means ~$750.
  3. Just noticed the pinned topic. Thank you for looking. Mods, please delete this thread.
  4. Over the past couple of weeks I noticed that when I started my '99 RX300 the car would either idle very slowly or not want to start at all. A slight tap on the gas pedal would get it going fine again. I would experience the exact same thing each time I tried to start the car. Today, the car will not idle normally; even after driving it for about a mile. The car just idles very, very slowly. Has anyone else experienced this? I have no clue what the problem might be. The check engine light is not even on. Any insight will be most appreciated.
  5. I have a similar problem! Somebody tried to break into my '91 LS400. They DESTROYED the lock on the driver's side door and I think they tried to force the trunk open. I do not see any visible damage to the trunk or keyhole. However, the key goes in but does not turn to open the trunk. When I pull the release inside the car, I can hear a noise in the trunk (actuator???), but the trunk does not release. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I can do to get the trunk open without wrecking the keyhole? I think I will probably have to get a competely new set for the entire car (since I need a new one for the driver's side). Has anyone here replaced these locks in their car? Did you do it yourself? How dificult would it be?
  6. They are going to make a hybrid version of this thing? Nice! Anyone else think it resembles the 7-series BMW?
  7. That's what the dealer said. I hope both of you are right. I don't want to have to make another trip for the same thing.
  8. Oh No! I think I may have this problem. After a week of noticing electical components acting up, battery died yesterday morning. Used jumper cables to get it started and drove it in to the dealer (30 miles away). The battery should have charged by then. At the dealer, the tech turned the ignition on to check the mileage. All the lights (including headlights) were on for about 30 sec. I asked him to try and start the car, he did and it only made a clicking sound (didn't start). It seems to me as though it might be the alternator (who knows). Is that usually covered under the warranty?
  9. WOW! Some very passionate opponents to the motorcycle idea. I've thoroughly taken into consideration the potential risks involved in riding a motorcycle in a city such as San Diego (and in any city, for that matter). I know that no level of training can keep a person from falling victim to the mistakes of others (which happens to be a HUGE downfall in a motorcycle). All one can do is make sure that you understand your personal limitations. Sometimes what's important is not what you do, but what you refrain from doing. My reason for dismissing better judgement is very simple: I LOOOVE TO RIDE; and what better city to do it in. I think that if I was ever going to buy a street bike, this would be the time to do it. I am 23, unmarried and have no children. Once one has a family, other things become more important. I don't mean to sound like I'm on the deffensive here but I'm very surprised at the ammount of negative feedback I got on the motorcycle. Well If any of you decide to "go nuts" and buy a motorcycle. I invite you to visit San diego on a ride. Perfect riding conditions, friendly people, and an all around great city ;) .
  10. I was about to sell my 1991 LS400 because I bought a motorcycle. I met up with a potential buyer and he was so ignorant and and annoying that I decided that I could not allow a person such as this to become the new owner of my great car. I've decided to keep my LS; even if i only drive it once a month. Anyway here's a couple of pics of the bike:
  11. I have a '91 LS400. The high-mount stoplight behind the rear woofer was not working and I was able to find a fix for it using the schematic that econ provided. It was only this light that was not working. All the other lights worked fine. Let me know if you have the same problem and I would be happy to walk you throught it.
  12. I am hoping that someone can tell me if the LCD (STEREO) part number is the same for the 97 and 98. I have a 98 and would like to order the part through Pioneer without having to disassemble the center console just to look at the stereo's model number. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. If someone knows for sure that the 97 and 98 both have the same model stereo, that would suffice. Thanks again.
  13. I have never found a greater rating than 91 here in San Diego and I have never used anything else. The owner's manual says that the fuel should be at least 91 octane.
