I had a similar problem with my gs and it turned out to be a faulty cat and the dealer replaced it for NO CHARGE . They are warrantied throught the factory up to 80,000 mi. Mine was also bank 2 cat.
Lexus does not recomend a complete flush , Only drain and fill via drain plug , If this is done every 30k you should'nt have any probs . Use toyota tranny fluid only . :D
Last night on my way home from work this rsx pulls up next to me at the light and gives me the rev and let's go look , so I said to myself OK [ AFTER READING THIS POST I WAS CURIOUS ] We went for it and he got me off the line , by the time I hit 3rd he was in my rear view and we went up to 115 he never caught me after 3rd , I had the power on and the vsc off , 98 gs300 stock and well cared for new plugs and burning premium 92 [ My knees were shaking ,I never race but what the hell this post got me torqued . steviej , I ate at mortons of chicago and in 28 years of cheffing I have never had a better NY strip [ 22oz. ] and lobster [ 3 lb. ] since . What a great experience. And the Grande Marnier souffle was outstanding as well . :D
If you want to save your fluid drop it into a CLEAN pan and add it back into the fill tube minus the 1/2 quart . or siphon another 1/2 quart , I think you have to remove the undercover to get to the drain plug .
