  1. Pull the code on the CEL It's probably a sensor. Let us know what the code is.
  2. Thanx, Now we have the right info.
  3. If I am not mistaken there is no filter , There is a screen that can be cleaned but you have to drop the pan.
  4. Sounds like the cd player. If the car had a cell phone it may be installed and the mute got turned on somehow. The mute was in the changer in the early 90s. ← Actually the car does have a cell phone built in to the center consol area and there is a small toggle switch by the steering wheel. I wonder if i hit something and didn't realize it. I am not even sure if the phone works or not. ← Check into that it is probably the culprit.
  5. I just did a quick search to give direction, It would be a decision the owner would make as to what mounts are installed. Just trying to help out.
  6. It sounds like you both need new displays, Let me look to see if I have any left. I will post my findings.
  7. bump in hopes of help soon ← I still have the factory nav if you decide not to go aftermarket. ← really?! do you have pics of it? ← I have all/any info on the unit. PM or EM me. I can't PM you???and your email is unavailable?
  8. Lower front mount is next for you. It is not that difficult. ← I checked both front ones and they "looked" fine...nothing leaking or torn. ← They don't leak they wear and get flimmsy [ soft ] If your dogbone was worn then the possibility that your front lower mount took a beating because it was doing all the work. I replaced my dogbone first and it helped then I replaced the lower front and it drove like new , Quite a difference you will be so happy when you change it. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-NEW-Toyota-Camry-V6-...oQQcmdZViewItem Check out these, Ask the vendor about your specific model/year, The price is right.
  9. This thread has been very helpful for me. The shaking of my steering wheel stopped soon after filling the dogbone with my polyurethane. I still notice my engine going down towards the back of the engine so I suspect that the lower mounts are going as well. Has anyone filled these lower mounts with polyurethane as well? ← Lower front mount is next for you. It is not that difficult.
  10. Is it to be used only on turbo's ?
  11. bump in hopes of help soon ← I still have the factory nav if you decide not to go aftermarket.
  12. jarcara, Are you still looking for nav? Post your email please
  13. CraigCole, You have a couple of options, You could put a 02 ES nav system in which would be the easiest install. You could go with a 01 LX470 nav and get the 6 disc dvd/cd changer with the rear entertainment screen. Either way you would be getting rid of the indash cd. The ES system wouldn't change the ac controls and the LX system would incorporate the ac controls into the screen. I have both if interested PM or EM me. ← Can't PM you. Am interested in nav system. email me at bigleechild@comcast.net ← bigleechild, Check your email. Thanx
  14. Is the dimmer switch turned down?
  15. nc211, Well said. :whistles: And besides How can one call another a looser when they don't know the person? Must be self reflection.
  16. I say the GS400 because of build quality, reliability,Value, and of course HP. And yes this may not be the best place to be doing the comparison so drive them both and decide from there. Good Luck on your decision. :whistles:
  17. Please do tell more about the water injection, Install on any car? Where can one be bought? etc... Thanx in advance.
  18. Personally there is no comparison, Hands down the GS400.
  19. Did the previous owner start a nav install then did not complete it? Because what you have [ I think you have a control screen not a nav screen ], Everyone thinks that they are nav screens but they are not. If you are looking to install nav in your RX I have a full system for you. ;) ← This is the screen that I have. It has the nav buttons and everything...When I push the nav button, I have the message "The external system is not connected". On the trunk, right side, below the floor panel, I have four connectors. I used to have the hands free telephone original system (For Motorola) that I removed (volume and other cntrols on the steeering wheel). The hands free hardware used to be connected there. Check the pictures and tell me what do you think I have. Thanks a lot. ← Can you enlarge the pix a bit, I can't make anything out. Sorry Or if you can email me larger pix that would work.
  20. I always ask to see what the mechanic is doing, Ask for the old parts, Check it over before I pay, etc... If they don't let you look at it there is something wrong.
  21. I don't see why that wouldn't work, I did that to my 93 ES and worked. Although a little different , Same principal. Maybe a expert will chime in with specifics.
  22. You have to make sure that the 2 clips inside the vents are released when pulling the vent out. You can try making a small T-bar [ with a coat hanger or similar rigid material ] with a small hook on the end to get behind the vent trim and pull from behind.
  23. ← Mucho Gracias Senor You take care and so do we. :D power_steering_specs.pdf power_steering.pdf
  24. AGREED, The avitar has to gooooooooooooo!!!
  25. Sounds like the cd player. If the car had a cell phone it may be installed and the mute got turned on somehow. The mute was in the changer in the early 90s.
