  1. I'm so glad you are going to make it!! :D I don't know where you are in the DFW area, but a few of us are going to cruise out to Jason's shop from Ft. Worth....you should join in on it too. All of the details are in the CL link. ;) I'm glad I won't be the only LS this time! :D
  2. I'd say good prices for the first run(95-97) of the generation would be in the $10k-$13k range for lower mileage cars and for the 98-00 $15k-$25k...I'd only go near $25k if the car has really low miles...like 30's or 40's. Something to think about is the 98-00's have an electric throttle, so it might not mesh with your style. There are a few complaints about it in here. ;) Why not a truck that can get to 60 in less than 6.3?? SVT Lightning :whistles: lol Supercharged 5.4! I could only imagine what insurance would be!
  3. Wow that looks really sharp with the '04+ rims!! B) Congrats on your new car! Enjoy it many, many years to come.
  4. Yeah, I still have the problem; I never really tried fixing it other than T IV pan drains every 5k . These days(that post was about 25k miles ago) it seems as if the shift from P to R has smoothed out, but the lurch is still there when I go from P to D when the engine is cold. I've adopted a method of releasing the brake immediately after I shift to D, so the lurch gets lost in the foward motion of the car; it really minimizes the lurch-it's worth a try. ;) RW, great work with all of the research(I need to note my start-up rpms)! Thanks! :D
  5. I think this is the link you need: http://www.lextreme.com/ascon.htm.
  6. I've never heard of a dealer doing that before. <_< I found this picture of Maine92ES's car in the highest mileage thread....
  7. No problemo....here's his website with contact info. He does great work!!! http://www.jpimportz.org/
  8. I too want to thank you for your service to our country! Freedom is not free, so we are all very thankful for what you are doing for us. I'm sure basic will be a lot of hard work but fun at the same time. All of us here at LOC will miss you and your posts. I look foward to see what Lexus model that $14k will go to! :whistles: Be very proud of yourself for all of the hard work and stress you've endured getting through all of the requirements...very inspirational! Take care of yourself and have fun! Best Regards, Blake
  9. Lexus dealers will charge anywhere from $1,200-$1,500-it seems like different dealers charge different rates(I've seen $95/hour up to $140/hour), but it doesn't have to be done at the dealer. Personally, I'd follow 81 up to Dallas and have JPI do it; he'll be much cheaper than a dealer.
  10. You'll know they're completely gone when your car looks like this: If you want them to replace the air struts, you will tell them that you need new air struts unless you wanted to convert them over to the conventional non air ride setup. New struts will not include new upper/lower control arm, strut rod bushings etc. I think that if you are still pleased with the ride, you can wait until it starts to seriously roll and float on the highway.
  11. You probably would have never found that post either because I always come up with the most random titles! When I got my strut rods replaced in my LS, it was "I just got back from Dallas." lmao I am glad that I only have to have 1 tag; it give the front of my car a much cleaner look. B) They do have touch up for the lower cladding, but for some reason or another, I remember some members having trouble finding/ordering it. Let me see what I can find...
  12. I agree, and it has been beaten already....ad severe nauseum! ;) Not to mention this is something that is covered in the owner's manual. This is like one of those synthetic versus dinosaur threads. All that needs to be said is that the ECT allows the tranny to shift at a higher rpm, downshifts more often, and shortens time between shifts. Whether you can feel the effects or not is a different topic. Personally, if my car were to shift at 3,000rpms vs at 4,000rpms, I'd never feel a noticeable difference.
  13. The '98 gained a fifth foward gear rather than only 4 like the 90-97. ;)
  14. He did nothing of the sort! ;) He even went as far as to say that he'd rather buy an ES over the new Avalon.... Any LOC member can post anywhere they so desire; it makes no difference as to what model they drive. Wanting to exclude someone because they don't drive a LS is wrong. Manager or not, no one deserves to be insulted like that.
  15. I'm sorry to hear about this. :cries: Sheesh, when does it stop. I'm sure it'll get repaired and be just as good or better than before. I'm sorry you will have to deal with this mess; when my LS was hit, it was a true nightmare-stupid bodyshops, rental cars, insurance co's, etc. Best of luck with all of this....
  16. That's where the heated seat switches go if so equiped.
  17. We only have to have one plate in Louisiana! ;)
  18. After looking at that pic, I need to work on mine some more too! lol :chairshot:
  19. Here ya go: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...wtopic=3960&hl= ....it sounds like age and potholes are culprit....that is a hideous pic of my car btw! what's so bad about this color?? :D
  20. I think it's just age. I made a post about this a loooong time ago; let me find it, and see if there's any other info in it...
  21. You just get a floor jack and jack it up under the droop. I've done it to my '94 a few times; it works great, but it seems to start drooping again after a while. :(
  22. Geez! That's a great deal. This little Seagate costed an arm and leg(as far as portable storage goes) that for a small fraction of what you have. But, I bet you can't do this!! :chairshot:
  23. Are you near DFW? Even if you aren't, drive in and let JP Importz look at your car. He'll get it all taken care of. I drive 4 hours each way(from LA) to JPI because their service is that good and is very reasonably priced.
  24. I had mine replaced in my '95 LS Jan of this year. I don't remember what the belt and retractor costed, but I think I was charged about an hours worth of labor. Definantly worth the $$-I think it was in the $275 range. My seat belt retracts now!!!
