  1. Here are some better pictures. I finally downloaded Photoshop :D . Here's the old
  2. Steve, what is so bad about the PotenzaRE92? I'm not trying to disagree...I'm just curious...I know jack s#$t about tires. Any safety issues? . From the sounds of things, it's quite unfortunate that I have 4 of them.
  3. I had my injectors flushed out at a Toyota dealer; I think it costs something like $60, but they have to change your oil at the same time too, so add around $25. I had this done in hopes of solving some vibrations that I feel comming through the steering wheel. Unfortunantly, I'm not too satisfied with the results; maybe I need a new motor mount or something(it seems like I read a lot about these on here)? I just filled up, so I'll let you know if that helped my mpg. Stevie what were your "decreases?" I'm looking to buy a k&n filter too; I didn't know there were some draw backs <_< ?
  4. Well, I had the tranny flushed yesterday. I have noticed a nice difference in my previously described problems.
  5. Well, I made a big trip to the Toyota dealer. I had them do all kinds of flushes...tranny, injector, and engine. And I had them turn off the airbag light. They usually charge $89.99 for this, but fortunantly I have a neighbor that buys $200,000 worth of Toyotas every couple of years. Needless to say, I saved a truckload of money; after the discount, I only paid $35 :D :D .
  6. No prob Mark! I know how aggrivating it is to have a problem, and what makes it even worse is not knowing how to fix it. However, it seems like you're making some progress. You've mentioned hard shifts...makes me think vacuum problems more and more. I had a check engine light for 3 months, and when I finally got it fixed, I was the happiest person alive . Keep digging you'll find it eventually.
  7. Jimi, how much did Lex charge you for the window adjustment?
  8. I'm sure that's all it needs, but as we both know Lexus dealer reapirs can cost a small fortune :( . How much do u think that would cost and could a Toyota dealer fix this?
  9. Jimi, that's nothing to joke about...especially with my luck !!! huh?
  10. Oh god, me too. My car can put me in the best of moods or the absolute worst. I think I'm starting to have an idea of how piggy must feel ;) , and I don't know how you(piggy) can handle it. Alright enough bitchin...I'm definantly making an appointment with Toyota tomorrow.
  11. bbsal, those are absolutley awesome :D :D . I'm jealous ;) . I think a while back you mentioned that you were looking to buy the HID's off of ebay...did you? If you don't mind me askin how much did u pay for them?
  12. bbsal, I was thinking about taking it to a near by Toyota Dealer; they should do a pretty good job right? I'm starting to feel like my car is falling apart .
  13. Thanks bbsal :D !!! But, now I'm feeling a little depressed about the airbag light, and to even further that, I'll most likely have to go to the dealer to get it turned off . You try and fix one thing, and you end up breaking five more things . I wonder if AutoZone's little reader could turn it off?
  14. My transmission is acting kind of strangely lately. It has ultra smooth down shifts like when I punch the gas, and when the ultra smooth engine unleashes its fury, going up to a higher gear is rough and jerky. Also, when I'm in traffic, the tranny seems to get confused when I let off of the gas and then gently press it again; this is accompanied by a nice little jerk. I find it strange that it down shifts seamlessly and upshifts harshly. Would a tranny flush be a good start?
  15. Also, here is a question for those of you more mechanically inclined: when we removed the steering wheel the air bag light came on, and now that the airbag has been back in for almost 3 days the light is still on. The battery was unplugged when I reinstalled it; would it be a good idea to un&re plug the battery again? Or, do I need to bring it somewhere that has a code reader, and let them turn it off?
  16. Jimi, the final price was around $305 with all shipping charges, and worth every red cent :D ! Now, I just have to wait for the seat upolsterer(he's booked until mid September...I never knew they were this busy), and then my interior will be like new!!! The "new" steering wheel has made a huge difference like you said Steve ;) .
  17. Sorry about the chopped-up pictures; my digi cam is ancient :( .
  18. Well, I just got my steering wheel back from American Stitches yeasterday, and holy s@#t did they do a number on my wheel!!! They had to rebuild part of the rubber core because it was comming off; yall will see in the pictures. I had them cover it in color matched leather(no wood), and I couldn't be happier with their quality and crasftsmanship :D :D !!! A special thanks goes to Jimi(Speedracer959) for donating his wheel to me :D; what a guy!!! And, a special thanks to SW03ES for recomending the American Stitches Company to me :D . thanks guys here's the before....ahh yuck
  19. Ahh, sucky pics huh? This time I circled the 3 vsv's.
  20. Mark, here is a picture of my vsv's without the engine cover on. You're right; there are two of them right next to each other, and there is one on the other side too. If you want a more complete picture just let me know your email address...my old camera takes pictures that are too big for the site. You say you have a repair manual? You can pull all 3 out in about 2 minutes...each is held in with one philips screw and a conncetor plus some hoses. They give you the procedure to test each with a voltage meter. Let me know if you need more details.
  21. Mark, mine's a 1994. I don't really know how to describe what it looks like :( and to top it all off all 3 look the same . I changed the one that works with the EGR system. After I pulled up the pretty engine cover, I believe there are actually 3 of these little switching valves....I believe that they are all about $100. If you'd like I can post some pictures later this evening. Are you experiencing any rough idling or slightly rough shifts? After I changed the little valve, like I said before all of my problems were gone..well almost. I have a very very remote jitter in my idle, but I'm going to go get my injectors cleaned out this weekend; I think this should solve the problem. I have 108k pure city miles, so I've got to have serious carbon build up.
  22. ohh, akiraxtc you bought a very beautiful car :D . I'm jealous!!!
  23. olezip, I'm guessing you don't like the french because of their lack of cooperation with us Americans??? It's good to hear how very patriotic you are :D :D :D !!!
