  1. Brake override system explained at this link. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/attachments/is-second-generation/171148d1271363606-new-and-improved-sport-pedal-lexus-brake-override-sys.pdf
  2. What bothers me is the water that went down the AC vents. It could have gone somewhere in the dash and got to some electronics. There are little computers for just about everything. I'd suggest getting a towing company to put the car on a flatbed and take it to the dealership. It's probably going to need diagnosis, and even if some parts dry out, energizing the system might harm some other parts.
  3. If you have the spare remote you could try that. Otherwise maybe when everything dries out.
  4. There's no sensor in the spare. You will have the light on until the original sensor and wheel is reinstalled. BTW: The donut spare is only intended for 50 miles at 50 MPH or less.
  5. Whatever floats your boat.
  6. The kit is probably ok. However the 6000 K is gonna be pretty blue and give less light output. 4300 K would be equivalent to stock HID and most people use 3000K for fogs so they are more yellow. OTOH if you just want blue and want the lights to match, not caring about light output then go with the 6000K.

  8. Oh, but wouldn't that be halogen projector since my car came with halogen lights? You got two types of headlights. 1. Reflector: The bulb sits in front and the light reflects off a curved shiny surface. You can see the bulb from the front. 2. Projector: The bulb sits behind a lens which shapes the beam and projects it onto the road. All the HID kit does is give you a brighter, whiter light for that projector. I got the MTEC kit in my car for three years now and all I did was change bulbs and put in the ballast kit. Trust me.
  9. I don't think any of those coatings are cost effective or live up to their promises.
  10. Don't. You're projectors are just fine.

  13. who asked you thats is very nice for you that you are willing to go to jail to shot out tires and shot a speaker wow thats really mature I said it makes me want to do that. Does it make you feel good to disturb the people in every area that you drive though? Now lighten up a bit son, we don't like high decibel levels in the forums either. i dont go around blasting my music every hour of the day nor do i drive up and down communties just balsting my music i go to shows meets and i like to listen to my music when i go out with friends and am we are playing sports, i didnt know you spoke for the entire forum Well you said it could be heard for several houses away. I reckon nobody lives in those houses. BTW, don't get all defensive about a little chiding. Lots of people hate those booming cars and in our town you can get ticketed for it.
  14. I dunno what they are made of, but if there's any water, it will be in the bottom of the tank.
  15. If you're talking about tread depth, I doubt if you've done any damage at all. My opinion would be that they suggest keeping tread depths close in order to have "equal" traction on all four wheels.

  17. 8 or 9 houses away sound is the cars that make me want to go shoot their tires out and when they stop, shoot up their sound system. :D
  18. Plenty reasons to close the windows with a dog inside. If you read enough posts here in these forums you'll find that some people will do most anything.
  19. I've never had such a problem with my 2006 either.
  20. One guy has a chart showing Toyota had 11% of USA safety recalls from 2001 to 2010. Couldn't read the chart but there were at least three companies above Toyota on the chart.
  21. Hearing streamed on FOX now. http://interactive.foxnews.com/livestream/live.html?chanId=5
  22. I think includes cars made in Japan & U.S.A. and I don't think its the pedal, sounds like computer design problem. I don't think they want to admit to this but there is alot of papers written on the web which points to this. It would be helpful if you would provide links to some of this supporting information. Since my post was written, yes there has been speculation of software problems. At the time I wrote that, about all we new was that NHTSA seemed to believe what Toyota was telling them about the pedals. I hear Mr Toyota will be testifying in Congress this week. I don't know how much we'll learn from that though as there will probably be much political face time involved. :(
  23. We got notices too on removing the mats and later some kind of pedal mods.
  24. I don't think 06 models were wired for the lighted scuff plates.
  25. Here are the diagrams of the manifold. You might go to sewell lexus parts online and ask for a quote on what you need. 12.pdf 15.pdf
