  1. yup.. its like flying a fighter jet!!! Every time I fill up.. I tell myself that I'm going to just pamper this tank and see what I can get.... Then a friend wants to take it for a ride.... :whistles: we have a rail yard that is approx. 1.5 mile long that is nice and paved..... well.. the car has seen the "red" ring lots of times but has only seen 130.... Do you do Hwy or city driving? About 50/50 but hardly ever get into any jam ups. I usually do a couple of 0 to 100 runs per week. When the car was new I went on a 1300 mile trip and got 27 mpg.
  2. My 4000 mile average is 22.5
  3. I have the maintenance schedule but the forum permissions won't let me upload it now. Sorry.
  4. It didn't come with wheels? No. I got my 350 in October and it's been sitting in the front yard on blocks ever since. :chairshot:
  5. You'll learn to anticipate the lag, flip the flipper a little early, and hit the shift right on.
  6. Here you go. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...pe=post&id=4934 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...pe=post&id=4935 For the air filter you might cross reference to a Toyota model if there's one that uses the same filter. I did that with the cabin filter and got one from Toyota for about half the cost. Or go to Irontoad.com. I've been getting my air and oil filters there lately. http://www.irontoad.com/Merchant2/merchant...=2002is300sedan
  7. Sure thing man. I try to help when I can.
  8. Bartkat: Thanks for the information. The only problem is that they have the service manual divided into 250 separate PDF files - a hassle to download. But, they also have a section with a lot of very nice product information. I downloaded that also. Much better and cheaper than buying a printed manual! Thanks again. David Yeah, I downloaded over 300 files and then had to sort and index and put them in folders. Never got it all done yet.
  9. I've never heard any noises other than the usual car noises. I suspect some folks may be turning the wheel all the way to the lock and holding it there too long. This is not recommended with any car with power steering. There are two front cup holders. One is in the console and the other is open when you slide the arm rest halfway back. The rear cup holders are on the front of the rear armrest. Both armrests also have small concealed storage bins. You can learn a lot by browsing through the owners manual files posted here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=25999
  10. I love my IS350. It couldn't be better if I'd had it tailor made. I've had mine since October and have found no flaws.
  11. Probably not many changes but I would hope they rearrange some of the options packages. Right now you have to take stuff you may not want just to get HID or something.
  12. So, if the tire pressure sensors are calibrated to 35 PSI, it takes a 10 PSI drop to have the alarm come on? That seems to be a big drop - this car can run at 100 MPH easily - I would not want to run at 80+ with the tires inflated to 25 PSI. I'm going to see what the dealer says...... David Beats not having any sensors at all. They probably don't expect you to run at sustained speeds of 100 MPH anyhow.
  13. Go to Lexus Tech and for $10 you can buy 24 hrs of download time. You can download any and all of the manuals in PDF format. http://techinfo.lexus.com/
  14. I don't think it's a lack of power. The guy's probably like me. I let off the gas after a couple of 360's cause I don't really want to tear up my nice new Lexus.
  15. Dont try this at home kids. :D http://videos.streetfire.net/video/wm/231F...6FF7F12F14A.htm
  16. People have reported the tire pressure warning coming on around 25-26 PSI.
  17. Yes there are holes.
  18. Quoting prices and making offers is considered advertising. Besides, the prices weren't any better than other OEM sources. The guy's lucky he didn't get the boot after his first reply to Stevie. Perhaps you're lucky too, after calling a moderator "anal".
  19. I hadn't detailed my wheels for about 4 weeks. I had the Michelin brake dust repellent on them for that length of time, and had only been going through the touchless car wash about once a week. So yesterday I went to the car wash and sprayed the wheels with Michelin acid free wheel cleaner prior to going through the wash. The wheels came out clean, just fine. Today I sprayed and wiped them down again with the dust repellent. It appears to me this will keep the wheels looking good for about a month with very little manual work involved.
  20. The DRL's are yellow and dim because they are being run on low power through a resistor. You can jumper out the resistor and make them some brighter, or change to Silverstar bulbs and they will be somewhat whiter. Or you can just disconnect from the resistor and they won't come on at all. The following link shows the resistor and cable. http://my.is/forums/showthread.php?t=246780 This shows the jumper installed to give more power to the lights.
  21. They come in kits, from $300 to $400 usually. The install is fairly straight forward, but it's a bit difficult to get access to the area you have to work in. Most say it's not all that hard though. You can do a google search or search Ebay for H11 HID conversion kits. If you can find one with compact ballast, that's going to help in finding a place to install them under the hood. I'm partial to the Mtec kit, although I haven't bought one yet. http://stores.ebay.com/mtecpower_4500K-MTE...7QQftidZ2QQtZkm
  22. It's not nearly as bad as what I've seen on some Mercedes.
  23. Wait a minute...I thought HID is not available on the 250. You have to get a 350/sport or luxury package to get the HID. When you go to lexus.com, the 250 cannot be equipped with HID. What's the scoop? Also, if you want to convert to HID, the wiring would have to be changed right? You can't just change the bulbs. All the electricl feed wiring stays the same. You just put the ballast/starter in between and install the bulbs.
  24. The guy that started this thread says he has a 350.
  25. I got filters from Irontoad for less than $5 each, including the O ring.
