  1. Well, I ordered two new front oem Lexus shocks and will try those. The KYB GR2's only have at most 6,000 miles on them. If that fixes it I'll be very happy especially since they were so inexpensive. I'll be surprised if it does since the aftermarket shocks are made by KYB. I was just going by what it said in the Lexus repair manual. Bottoming out->overloaded or worn springs. Struts should be here within the next week and I'll post my results. As long as my car is finished from getting re-painted Thanks for everyone's input, hopefully if the struts don't fix the problem one of you guys will be able to direct me to the next move. I knew I should of stuck with oem shocks/struts. I just want the "like new" Lexus ride quality back. Thanks again for everyone's replies.
  2. I hope your right Jibbby and its that easy to get rid of (rough ride). The KYB GR2 struts are new but maybe more harsh than I thought? I just went on a Lexus dealers oem site to order some new shocks to replace the GR2's and I found them for $38.72 each for the front strut. I think its a misprint, but hopefully I get them at that price. A new oem Lexus strut for $38.72? Great deal. If its just the springs I will laugh my !Removed! off in joy! Along with only paying $38 bucks for an oem strut. Hey advertised price right??
  3. Lexus isn't making any money off of what grade gas you use. So, when they say to use a certain octane grade its best to go with that to avoid any problems. I use the Exxon 93 and no matter how much I hate paying the extra for the gas I will b/c thats what is recommended with the 1UZFE engine.
  4. JSI4U2NV, I'm assuming the coils were the factory springs. What year is the es300?
  5. I have already replaced most of the front suspension except for the springs and the upper control arms.
  6. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000 or so for parts.
  7. My suspension has an issue. I just recently replaced almost all of my front suspension, except for the upper control arms and the springs. I recently drove my aunt's newer 2006 Camry and the ride quality is near perfect like it should be. I'm sure that when my car was new the suspension must have been better than what I am experiencing otherwise I doubt anyone would buy the car. My mother's 95 Camry is even smoother than my car. While going over bumps at a medium speed 30+ mph my suspension makes an awful thump noise. Its both the front and rear suspension that I get the "thump" from. The newer 2006 Camry's suspension is quiet and very soft comfortable ride. There's no comparison between the two. In the front suspension I have replaced the lower control arms, upper strut mount, bump stops, end links, sway bar bushings, struts, and the spring insulators. The factory repair manual stated bottoming out can be associated with bad springs or just being overloaded. Granted, I know I am comparing a 13 year old car to a 2006 Toyota, but something isn't right. Currently I have KYB GR2 shocks and all the rest are new oem Lexus parts. What could I try to eliminate this uncomfortable thump I am getting when I drive over a bump. Nothing is loose, the suspension is all torqued to spec. Could it be the upper control arms or the springs? Its just very disappointing to spend all that money and still have a harsh ride while going over bumps. I'm just kind of lost with this. Maybe the springs just need to be replaced as well. Anyone else experienced anything like this. Or maybe I need to go back to the oem shocks/struts.
  8. The ball joints are non-replaceable and the 93-98 Supra lower control arms will fit.
  9. I am familiar with the suspension, but I'm trying to find out specifically what those two parts do. The bracket and the stopper.
  10. The radiator leaking can contribute to the engine overheating. If you continue to drive with it leaking it can burst and then you'll be stuck. So have the radiator replaced with a new radiator. Aftermarket radiator will save you a good amount compared to the price of an oem. Is there a good amount of transmission fluid leaking? The power steering leak needs to be fixed asap otherwise you'll have to get a new alternator, (IF it is leaking from the PS pump. Usually if you replace one front shock you replace both shocks at the same time. The leak is usually caused by a bad seal in the PS pump. I would recommend that you find an independent mechanic and get the radiator replaced and whatever is causing the p.s. to leak replaced. You can save a good deal of money buying the aftermarket radiator, aftermarket PS Pump, etc. I had both problems, but did the work myself. I replaced the radiator and the PS Pump with an aftermarket unit and so far no problems. I also drive 30k miles a year and its been about two years since. These are all pretty easy-moderate fixes and shouldn't cost that much unless you of course go to the dealer. Good Luck.
  11. Its called a lower arm bracket stay (p/n 48657-14020). I'm missing the ones on my car. Also what is the purpose of the "front lower arm bushing stopper"? I didn't understand what its purpose was either.
  12. Mine is the same way. Pretty hard to see out of when the sun hits it. What did the quote of $210 include, windshield and labor?
  13. How is the idle when the engine is warm while stopped at a traffic light? I had a similar problems due to a bad mass air flow sensor.
  14. I had a similiar problem. Could not open the door from the outside. Had to replace a little plastic called a outside door handle snap. It connected the rod to the outside handle. Part number for the passenger side door snap 69293-12050. Fixed it for about $6. But it didn't have anything to do with the lock or latch.
  15. Through the trunk is where you will find them, behind the trunk liner/panel covering up the gas tank.
  16. Did you check the track to make sure nothing is preventing the seat to move on that one side. Like a coin or something. Thats the only thing I can think of. Is this something that previously worked ok and now its not?
  17. Go to parts.com and then click on Lexus and there will be a list of dealers.
  18. Sure they can. You might want to order the trans. filter online, because I doubt if Toyota makes that filter, probably a Lexus part number only.
  19. The wiper motor seems to work (I can hear the motor). The problem is the wiper arms do not move at all. Also I can move one wiper arm and the other one follows the same movement freely. Usually you can not move the arms across the windshield. Seems like something isn't connected properly.
  20. Sorry, guess I should have been more specific. I meant things such as applying a heavy weight grease to the U-joint on the steering column and so forth. Thanks for the reply though.
  21. I experienced the same result when using the Bosche P4's. Best to stick with oem plugs as already stated.
  22. If I were you I would check the fuses & wiring first if you have not already done so. Both power seats not working sounds more like their not getting any power rather than the motors being inop.
  23. The fuse box is located on the driver's side kick panel. The climate control unit is on the same fuse as the cigarette lighter. Before you replace the fuse check the cigarette lighter to make sure nothing dropped down into causing the fuse to blow. Its labeled CIG (15amp fuse).
