I have an electrical problem and Lexus wants $3000 to fix it. Here's a list of a few things that I do know. The climate control unit is working (checked it in another sc), the climate control unit screen only lights up at night. The parking lights do not work and the side marker lights do not work. The person who had the car before me wired up the guide lights to act as fog lights. They messed up doing this (don't know how its not that hard to do it the correct way!) But, I took it to lexus and they tired to re-wire it to make the guide lights and the parking lights work correctly w/out replacing the junction block ( it was melted I guess of something short circuited). They replaced the burned out diodes and re-wired something, which lasted for about a month and then I was back to the beginning. None of the lights worked (side marker lights nor the parking lights). The lights right now I could care less about, but I need heat and the seat heater is not gone to cut it during the winter w/out defrosters. I took it to lexus and they told me I needed to replace the main wiring harness behind the dash and an intergration relay and the junction block which was melted. I ordered the parts (though (lexuspros.com) they are alot cheaper than the dealer! If anyone knows what this could all be, please help. And if anyone can help, has anyone removed the dash board before and if so what is the process in doing so. Thanks.
