  1. I would definitely say that if you are leaking fluid into the alternator then there is the first place I would go to sort the issue. You could do a great deal of damage if the alternator goes high volts which can pop ECUs and cook the battery. Let us know how you get on with resolving this issue

  3. It is definitely a badge society that we live in......Audi, Apple, Tesla and other big names which may or may not be a good product but its the one to be seen with. I think Lexus is slowly getting into that subconscious but will always be niche enough not to attract the mass market

  5. Looping the pipes would be best to allow the coolant to circulate and bypass the A/C unit
  6. Hi Robert.....welcome to the Club I would imagine that the standard lamps would take a feed from the original wiring loom but the connector would be different so you would need to manually adapt the wiring to suit the new connector.

Hi MUA1549 ....welcome to the Club I would say the power steering is acceptable for a minimal amount of fluid loss which can be gauged by cleaning it off (jetwash) and see where the leak is coming from (difference between weeping and leaking which can easily change from the one to the other). Maybe hold off from that until you can determine the actual source of the leak. The transmission fluid is a must if it hasn't been changed in a while, also ensure the filter is changed at the same time for that money
  10. This can happen gradually with a seized caliper which stays applied and generates heat which you could easily measure with a temp gun to identify which wheel/brake it is

  12. I would run a fault code diagnostic check as may be one or more Wheel Sensors (ABS).

There should be some adjustment on the lamps but would be accessed from either the front with a small screwdriver but not sure that will affect the beam pattern only the directional angle of the light beam. You could try a mask (such as tape over the top half) to see if this redirects the beam?
  16. It sounds like an ADAS sensor which is sensing a crash and applying the brakes.
  17. If you lift up the lower rear seat bolster and there is an access plate on the left hand side (looking from the rear of the car) on the floor which you can remove and access the fuel pump / sender unit
  18. Agree with the above suggestions.... Definitely check the earth cables and that the connections to the chassis are clean and tight Also, as suggested, the battery terminals need to be shiny clean to ensure the current flows freely Start there and see how you get on and let us know how it goes

Hi....welcome to the Club Its a tough one as Lexus are generally incredibly well built and reliable but equally there could be a major issue that would require many dollars being paid out of your pocket if you don't have the insurance. Me personally, I would probably waive the insurance as any inherent issue would be covered under their initial sale warranty and any remaining manufacturers warranty period. Another thing to consider is that a lot of issues could be rejected as 'wear and tear' which is excluded from the policy. As long as it is maintained as it should be then I would not be too phased about taking the insurance.
