  1. Yes--turn the light switch to "ON". They're always on...?? What I think he's trying to say is: If you turn lights "ON", the bright headlights (versus DRL's) will turn on in the daytime.
  2. Funny you mentionned it, because CR and other reviewers also find the latest incarnation of the GS to be a net improvement over the previous generation. I am not a fan of the new interiors of MY2013 Lexus. Call me old fashioned. I tend to use CR mostly for reliability data/ charts, ignoring their take on styling. Of course styling is highly subjective. But new GS is easily outselling previous gen GS by a huge margin, good job Lexus.
  3. Owned Porsches, none came with that. Parts did sell a battery-maintainer that plugged into cig lighter. Batteries lasted 4 years in typical garage queen/weekend duty.
  4. The alignment price seems a bit high, and I really would not want them doing it (since I have access to a very good custom wheel/tire shop in my area that I've used for 10 years). Battery I'd let them do it, as I plan to do when my 2007 battery finally dies.
  5. Darker exterior colors make the new grill blend in more.
  6. I think the newest GS (grill, big nav screen, sporty ride/handling and all) is a success, and therefore it easily outsells last gen/ prior GS.
  7. And some freaking mostly worthless list that was taking up valuable space.
  8. blah. Any car brand-related humor lately?
  9. Don't know what or how much ethanol is in the gas I use. (I only use Chevron premium in the Lexus)
  10. In the case of Lexus IS (compact premium sport sedan) my preferences: tint, wheels/tires, exhaust
  11. Lexually Explicit - Looking forward to your new pics later. Sounds like your new IS350 is coming along fine.
  12. Indie will be cheaper than high overhead Lexus dealers in CA too.
  13. Try another Lexus dealer, sb closer to $550.
  14. A couple of minutes of editing would have made the list better (to say the least). But I'm glad it didn't deteriorate into the usual political rhetoric, given this is an automotive forum with emphasis on Lexus.
  15. Cool, freedom of choice of course. In the US auto market, loyalty to any brand is becoming rare.
  16. Tell him to get something better, like a Lexus.
  17. GM = Government Motors Volvo = the box that safety comes in
  18. Lincoln is on the edge of going the way of Mercury, most of the lineup is crap. Cadillac's Escalade-derived (arts and science is what I think they try to call it) styling is getting old. I have a higher opinion of Buick's latest offerings even if they are more "near-luxury". Tesla looks cool inside and out. (I won't get into politics of government bailouts/subsidies.) In reality I rarely consider American models when I shop for luxury cars.
  19. In Silicon Valley we have about a 1/2 dozen hand-wash places, some better than others. Must be some of those in suburban LA.
  20. Sounds like an interesting idea for small defects. Has anybody at LOC tried it?
  21. Multiple Lexus owner, congrats. (I'm still on my first one and enjoying it)
  22. The 2008 IS350 looks great, great find. Consider fixing the 2 tone tint and have the 2 fronts done in 35% or 50% tint. That will make the difference from front to back look less severe (less of a taxi, airport limo, towncar, SUV effect). I've attached a pic of mine with 35% on all windows front and back.
  23. Let's see a picture of that new ride, what color is the IS350?
