Have you forgot that we did bomb This leader during Reagans era, It did not start a war....Remember also he was responsible for the downing of a jet liner that killed a lot of AMericans....I seriously doubt a war would start if we enforce a no fly zone..... And yes I am a vet, been there done it...and dont want our kids endangered, however in order to be great we must show strength.....
-
hey welcome....As for the Power steering hose, I would get your's rebuilt by a local machine shop....Has got to be a lot cheaper, or find a used good one....Cheapest price I saw new was $500....or try aftermarket here: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

the do nothing congress is completely correct, however the president has failed to put his stamp of approval on the massive cuts that have to be made. As for the air problems in Lybia I dont believe it would be that difficult. Other countries have shown interest also, but are waiting for somebody to step up to the plate...This is a missed oportunity to gain some brownie points with the Arab world... I think he is more afraid of What Suadi Arabia will think..after all he already bowed down to them...oh boy that is going to get some comments. As for Congress, we will never get jobs until the out of control spending stops and the country feels better about our net worth....
-
Yep, the do nothing president, no leadership from the top and the U S is the laughing stock of the world. How sad the rebels in Lybia are begging for the fly free zone, but the decision maker is standing on a golf course saying I feel sorry for the victims in Japan...Is he completely disconnected???????

You know, I feel like i stole it....the car is an absolute pleasure, getting used to the feel of the hybrid, but it is definetly smoother and quieter than the RX300 that we used to own...Features, by far this car is tops. the visability on the rear quarters is much worse, but the camera does help when backing up. If we defeat the system we might be able to turn camera on whenever....Wife loves it, but she has a lead foot so trying to get past 23mpg is real difficult...and she does most of the driving and we have crappy formulated gas in California...
-
Just wondering if anybody has changed their own timing belt on the 3.3liter engine on the hybrid? Also any precautions or unusual tasks that might make it more difficult? I was looking around, and it looks like other than stuff on top (brake master) there is actually less to remove for the replacement...The crankshaft pulley is still there minus any belts. What is your thought? I would like to save some money so that I could get the Vais for the ipod sooner.

Iphone Integration With 2006 Rx400H With Nav
lenore replied to ereiss's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Is there a way to use the vais and the seperate switch (cutting wires) together to give both the vais features and the ability to use navigation and bluetooth while in motion.? -
Could be the brake pads werent broken in correctly, or the disk is warped, or the guide pins arent lubed, If you had it done at Lexus did they turn the disk when they replaced the pads? by the way the best way to break the pads in is too drive up to 25mph and brake firmly but not hard, then let go row forward, press the brake pedal again slowly but firmly. then drive a little way and repeat...then you are done. If they didnt torque the wheels nuts with a torque wrench after servicing the brakes they could have warped the disk...Then they would have to be turned or replaced...

Rx 350 2007 Brake Diy Question
lenore replied to MBman's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Nothing difficult...very simple. lexus pads can be had for $40 to $50 per set. Suggest lubing the guide pins, and everything else is just like any other disk pad replacement. The only unknown for me (because I am used to the RX300) is whether the piston are the type that push in, or have to be screwed in.....maybe somebody else could answer that. -
Cvt & Rear Differential Fluid

depends on whether it is synthetic oil...to the basics 5 qts of oil will cost $24 and the filter around $5 to 7. figure the rest is labor....Takes me personally about 20 minutes to do a fluid check and oil change.

THAT IS NOT A GOOD PRICE, i SAW SEVERAL 06 400H FOR AROUND $21K TO $23k...PRETTY CHEAP FOR A HYBRID...

Cvt & Rear Differential Fluid
lenore replied to lenore's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
iF YOU LOOK AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS THREAD THE PLUG IN THE UPPER LEFT CIRCLED IN RED IS THE FILL PLUG FOR BOTH TRANSMISSIONS. THE LOWER RIGHT PLUG AS CIRCLED IS THE DRAIN PLUG....THERE IS NO DIPSTICK, YOU FILL UNTIL IT POURS OUT. THAT IS THE PROPER LEVEL...CAN BE .5MMM BELOW THAT HOLE OR EVEN WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE HOLE. -
Cvt & Rear Differential Fluid
lenore replied to lenore's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
OK, did the fluid changes, Looks like the original fluid judging by these pictures...little over 4 qts for the front transmission and 2 qts for the rear. Used WS toyota fluid, was $8 per qt. in the pictures see the sample of new and old on the paper. This was at 89k miles...note the sample was from front. The rear still had a red color..... -
Here is a thread of club lexus that will help http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-first-generation/454575-diy-replacing-air-fuel-sensor.html

Thanks Lemon, with 88k miles and the carfax report doesnt exactly tell you what fluids are changed...I felt this would be a good start from a maintenance position....Yea I know timing belt coming up... -
Ok guys, got my new to me 2008 RX400h and because of the unknown fluid conditon in the CVT and rear differential would like to change fluid. I have read the post, and saw they they take WS fluid...here are two pictures with plugs circle in red. 1. Are these the drain and fill plugs, 2. WS is correct? CVT 4qts Rear differential 2 qts?

Hey thanks, The residue down below is oilish, I know about the pink crust, my RX300 had a leak on the intake manifold and left a huge pile of the pinkish crust, I eventually pulled the manifold and replaced the gasket...and all was well. You know I am just a little nervous considering the higher mileage...88K...I checked toyota yesterday and they said they would change the belt and waterpump for $500...I would supply the waterpump and belt...(OEM parts).
