  1. I am voting for the Winner....yippie....Cast my vote yesterday....delivered with empty chair blessings...
  2. You put this in the wrong forum, but here is your answer http://www.ehow.com/how_7708636_change-battery-1996-lexus-ls400.html
  3. Did your mechanic get any codes? Could be nothing more than a bad wheel sensor....Many on this sites have removed and cleaned them and fixed the problem. But hopefully there are some pending codes in your computer.
  4. This may well be one of the most important elections for the direction this country takes. Please make it a priority to get out and vote. The welfare of our nation as well as the future for our children, grandchildren, and elderly are at stake. Ask yourself, did the politician of your choice threaten your benefits, or did he offer solutions and a positive outlook. Questions to ponder are whom is going to try and fix the problems of Social Security, Medicare, jobs, and our growing national debt? Whom is willing to better work with both sides of the aisle to bring us back together? Remember, you cant complain unless you participate. Your Vote does count. God Bless America.
  5. As far as I know there isnt much that can be done....If you could find Air shocks then that might be a solution...The RX300 original equipment hitch is the best....looks better too...you might see if there are any in Ebay or local junk yards....This vehicle is not the greatest tow vehicle as it has a known weak transmission. YOu will defineltly want to increase your drain and fills of the transmission to every 15k miles. DO NOT do a flush....We on both sites stress this...The vehicle with factory tow is only good for 3500 lbs...There is also question of transmission cooler....
  6. I bought the Yokohama PARADA's spec X. so far good, have 11k miles on them....Others will have to chime in on mileage and snow...Tirerack.com was my point of purchase and they have a lot of customer feedback as well as performance charts....
  7. Mine came on when the weather got cold up in Idaho, I ignored since I had checked all 5 tires, and when I went back into Nevada the light dissappeared....I guess the spare was warmer off the ground and the other tires were cold.... certainly not a perfect system....
  8. here you go... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68108&pid=427462&st=0entry427462
  9. Oh man, I hope there isnt another one lurking, things happen in three's.....Best of luck to both of you....That neck injury is not good...get checked again in a week...
  10. my son has the same car, great vehicle....welcome aboard
  11. Are there Good Toyota mechanics near you? If so the engine is similiar to the Toyota Truck engines with the v8....
  12. May be a wheel bearing going out....I would suspect the right side wheel bearing
  13. Sewell will ship it for $12 total cost $356 if you join Club Lexus (free) and login....
  14. here are deminsions on battery.... http://www.batterymartwa.com.au/Products/ACDELCO-Product-List.aspx
  15. or here for $372 http://www.lexuspart...82-01-4393.html
  16. Price is $390 From Sewell Lexus but probably cheaper if you use Club Lexus membership..... http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-catalog/8201825401-Electrical-LS600h-2008.html
  17. my experience with third party warranty is very poor....(long time ago) Maybe have car checked by lexus and see if they will offer an extended warranty....
  18. You either have really bad struts or maybe the strut mount is bad...do you get a knock sound when hitting the bumps.?
  19. The battery that starts car just turns the system on....its a 51R series available for $65 at Sams Club...The hybrid battery can cost around $4000....However have not read of any failures yet. The Toyota prius has been used as taxi's in New York and from what I have read some are over 8 years old and have never had a battery failure. A used RX400h could be had for $28k or less, I bought mine with 89k miles for $24k out the door. I now have 119k miles and it is just fine. Your salesman doesnt know his numbers and I wouldnt trust him with a ten foot pole. I owned a RX300 for 13 years, great vehicle, but gets about 16-18 in town and 21 on the road. My RX400h (2008) Gets 24.3 in town and the best we got on the highway is 26.8 at 78mph. My wife drives like a hot rod, so the town mileage is pretty good compared to the RX300....
  20. after seeing this I do believe a heat shield would have been installed for protection...That kind of hardware hanging under the car is not a great thing....
  21. Wow, picture tells everything...I guess until that is fixed no RX450h in my future....
  22. Cant say about the RX450h but I do have a RX400h which I love. Welcome aboard. What color did you get and how many miles..?
  23. Yes I agree, We have a local Honda dealership that has been excellent in the way they meet the customer. They dont do all of the fake passes and garbage. I have gone in there, made a offer and finished within 45 minutes the entire transaction. unfortunately they are the only one locally that treat customers that way except places like Carmax. You wonder where these weasels come from that act the way they do in some dealerships. Has to start from the top.
  24. Very interesting article, very long.....That is why I dont like salesmen....I prefer internet sells by far.
  25. I too viewed that...Looks like a great car...Man I wish I was young and rich...
