The front valve cover is no sweat, however the rear one is tough with the intake manifold over the top, which would probably have to be removed. has your sparks plugs been changed? If not a great time to do it. they are normally changed at around 125k miles. Is the leak bad or just residue? If just residue, let it go...if you do change the gaskets and the plugs havent been done it would be a great time to do those as well, just make sure to use original equipment denso or NGK iridium plugs...

there are many commercial kits available on the market that have different degrees of success at improving the lense. I have used scatch out on mine in the past and have had good results...some have used the kits and also had good success, anything will probably be an improvement at what you have now. Even good old toothpaste with a polishing disk could give desired results....I read an article with Consumers report, but cant remember which kit gave the best results. good luck

I just feel that the populated areas of the country tend to have more people on the entitlements than folks in the rural and suburbia areas. I hope you didnt have a bad day to trigger such response. It was not an attack but a perception that I see in San Francisco, L A, Chicago, New York, etc. These tend to be areas where you have more social programs than in less populated areas. I have always said that problem solving and making solutions is what should be done...This Administrtion has unsuccessfully shown any real reaching out to the other side to solve this nations problems...As for people not caring in these populated areas, heck have you seen the interviews with young people that didnt even know whom was running for the presidential, vice president spots, yet were waving banners for party thugs...That is terrible when you basically have mice following the pied piper. Agreed about the coverup, just shows how poorly government is ran. however that has been going on for a long time....remember the Pueblo? you are a brave man. i have rebuilt a ford tranny and found it not bad to do. good luck, one tip, use mineral spirts to clean everything...Be very careful with the valve body assembly, use a digital camera to document the positions of the balls and pistons in the assembly before cleaning...Cleanliness is very important in an automatic.
