oK I am going to chime in, even though we dont see eye to eye on politics, anybody that supports the site should get kudo's. I know steve has done this...
  2. The headlight moisture problem is a common problem on the RX400h....Resealing seems to be the best solution...Even lexus is recommending application of silicone on the headlamp...
  3. welcome aboard...color sounds really neat...enjoy your ride...
  4. When you get replacements is it the Lexus Toyota battery? Use of aftermarket batteries seem to hold up better. You might want to invest in a trickle charger since the infrequent driving...
  5. I thought you wanted the bars that go between the two bars that run the length of the vehicle...Go on the sewell lexus site. They sell the cross bars individually....for $165.56 if you are a clublexus member.
  6. Welcome aboard....as for your problem sometimes the sub amp dies, or maybe a shorted wire....
  7. where you on the debate forums..? Just curious....
  8. Sounds like a noise problem...Is the check engine light on? Maybe you are having a missfire....

  14. You both live in the snow circles. I would suspect taking the pads out and just lubing the points of contact where they touch the caliper would help tremendously. I am particularily talking about the areas of the spring inserts and also the relubing of the locating pins that the calipers float on. They may just be hanging on corrosion and debris...
  15. I purchased a 2008 RX400h and have been extremely happy...Had my 1999 RX for 12 years....Good luck in your quest, the leather on the newer models is not as durable, but the turning radius is fantastic. Also all of the new bell and whistles in electronics is a great upgrade. I like the look of the second generation RX, however your search for a third generation RX will be a major change for you.
  16. I would say i would look for a good (possibly recommended by a friend) tranny shop...THat in the long run will save you money. Also if the Planetary gears have to be replaced ask them if they know about the upgraded version....
  17. time is on your side....If you use the internet, I find the non face to face an advantage....Also you can get dealerships bidding against each other....Now hope the thats not fair group doesnt start yelling.
  18. Welcome aboard....look forward to your contributions...
  19. 4/1/2010 103,000 Total failure!!! It had both planitary housing's cracked, full on wear on the case. I did get it done for $2400. I fell like this car is too weak for my driving??? I wonder what else I can do to prevent this? hopefully they replaced the planetary gears with the newer design....and do your drain and fills fluid every 15k miles....
  20. You will find useful info here: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/52026-rx-how-to/ the 2003 is still first generation RX....so 1999-2003
  21. Ah I was just trying to fit in....I love my truck....
  22. Here's one, but I know others have some input. http://leatherseats.com/vehicle_search.asp?manufacturerSelect=5&modelSelect=142&yearSelect=2000&search=Search
  23. James I know how you feel, maybe someday you will venture on your own and service lexus vehicles from your own establishment. I have met mechanics that got fed up with the stealership and become very successful with a loyal clientel that only take their cars to them. Thank you for your professional perfectionist ability, that is how I ran my job when I worked for a large company, and I had to butt heads with idiot managers, but in the end my customers loved me and I had very few callbacks. By the way my work always saved money in the end, being proactive and preventing future calls and failures. Good luck. by the way I only input the cheaper alternatives, because quite frankly everybody that buys a lexus cant afford the fee's while their cars are in repair mode. I try to give alternatives, and a little education to at least let them make decisions based on knowledge.
  24. Yep, but lots of guys on the Club Lexus site are getting the old RX300 used and modding them...very popular among the younger crowd after they have depreciated....We are on our second, my choice but my wifes car....because I drive a Toby Keith manly Ford F150.....My feminine side comes out when I drive the RX400h as well as my teenage side (long gone) when I step on the peddle. What a hot rod in a sleeper car....
  25. Look On tirerack.com they have ratings on different types of Akebono Pads. I have used them with Brembo Rotors and was very satisfied....good luck
