  1. I thought he was in the Phillipines and wanted his car from California to go to the Phillipines...that is quite different for smog etc. I know it can be done, but the cost, I dont know. I know when I shipped from Spain to Bayonne N.Y. it was around $500, but that was in 1972
  2. Honda will launched their fuel cell car in Los Angelos this summer. the car will only be leased, and support for it will be in the Los Angeles area...Sounds good to me....by the way it is a mid sized vehicle.
  3. You dont have to remove that nut, the rotors are free floating on the axle shaft. they are probably corroaded to the hub. get some PB blaster and hit the area of the hub to rotor. Then take a rubber hammer or block of wood and tap the rotor to break it loose from the hub . I assume you have remove the caliper from the hub already...The rotors are reasonable from such places as TireRack.com The Brembo Rotors are of very good quality, but check around. I cant remember, but there may be a threaded hole on the rotor hub. you can screw a screw into that hole and possibly break the rotor free...
  4. That is good, make sure you have the tranny fluid changed every 15k miles from now on, Good luck
  5. Maybe the solenoids are hanging up. Did you energize the solenoids while out.??
  6. Just call your Local autoparts stores and ask them if they do a free obII scan. If they do then you are in business.
  7. The RX300 required Toyota Type IV, or Chevron 3309 fluid. The only substitute is AMSOIL
  8. Here is a picture for the RX, which is probably very similiar to ES: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...c=30723&hl=
  9. Usually under the drivers steering wheel area, down by the gas and brake pedals under the bottom side of the dash.
  10. Take it too a Autozone or Car parts place that does free checks, they will give you the codes, and then give us the codes, then we can give you a better idea of what is up....
  11. I have a 99 Lexus RX purchased in 11/1998. It has 152k miles, and the original hoses. I live in California, so no extreme temperatures, and the hoses look great, however I too am considering replacement. Just the preventative so as not to have failure on my wife.. Funny seems in the 60's and 70's you would hear of ruptured hoses all the time, but maybe the construction or rubber is better now, just dont hear of any problems. Still makes me nervous, the unknown secret degradation inside the hose. they arent expensive, but are the new ones better than my originals, who knows... by the way, at least the bypass hose is not flexing, seems this would make it more durable other than it sitting on top of the engine baking...
  12. Lexus only gave me a 12month 12k miles warranty....Just info for everyone...
  13. Man seems to me a Locksmith could do what you want.... They should be able to match the lock cylinders.
  14. Good luck, you have a good case with the maintenance all being done with Mother Toyota....Hope They at least give you half price on the tranny...Labor is around $1700 normally so that is still a healthy amount..
  15. that my friend was a great deal...
  16. funny, years ago in Spain that is what everybody drove....You saw it all, from poor to rich. Those 49cc mopeds worked real hard when those 250 plus lbs guys got on them, but they work...not fast I think tops about 35mph...but boy 150mpg....
  17. I know the RX300 should be changed at that interval, (not in the manual by the way) a change at the dealerships to prolong the transmissions. However the RX330 has a different tranny.
  18. Hope you didnt fry the tranny....
  19. That is too funny, and a concert only cost $10...those were the days...
  20. On the RX300 I pulled the plugs at 110k and they looked perfect, changed them anyway. But will tell you the iridiums are long life plugs....On the RX the change interval is 100k.... By the way stick with NGK or Denso iridium, they are great plugs..
  21. My fluid is a strange color, has and always was a dark green, Anybody elses that color? I have had the car since new, and will admit have never changed it...it is time...
  22. You need to call Lexus of America, get them involved, if you had all service done at Toyota, then you might have a chance of assistance, since it is the mother company. Ask them for a goodwill assistance on the cost. They will wont proof of the service. Good luck..
  23. I was pumping gas in 1965 for .27 per gallon in Idaho. when I was in Spain in 1971 gas was about .50 per liter...Europe has sucked down these prices for a very long time....
  24. I am on my original hoses too, a little nervous about it, I will change the radiator hoses for sure... bought my lexus in November of 1998 and have 151k miles...
