  1. Ya so I got that ballast fixed sometime ago right... no problems doesnt flicker now all of a sudden months and months later new ballast ... the bulb in my head light on my is300 turned purple still very much bright is the gas in the bulb bad? This is the ballast i just replaced So I dont think thats the problem
  2. Ok so I bought this 2002 Is300 great car runs smooth , turns out the dealership sold me this car without disclosing that the right passanger side tire is setback 2"s farther back then the drivers side which is in the correct position. Not a big deal the car drives straight Could be a bent control arm due to a wreck...after having it looked at we dislodged a 3 " round piece of stick from the suspension looks like yes my car had been ditched at some point. few months after I bought the car it started clunking when I turned the steering wheel from what felt like the suspension from that front side of the vehicle. The whole summer went by 3 mechanic shops couldnt tell me what the issue was and to why the tire was set so far back... I would have to take it to a paint shop and have the frame looked at. so thats what ive been waiting to do, take it to a frame shop but before I have had a chance and well after the clunking just went away I get this really loud squeek from that tire now when I Turn left to right I had a a friend/tech view the situation telling me there could be a clogged filter in the power steering system that confuses people into thinking its full when in reality its not. The loud squeek sounds of metal, almost like a really cheap bed frame squeeking and very loud as I rotate the wheel left to right. does anyone have any guess to what this could be
  3. I also bought a IS300 from a dealership and put hella money in repairing minor things , its frustrating as well as replacing my headlight ballast because the light was flickering darker colors it fixed the problem so its probably your head light ballast or the bulb
  4. No offense, but it made me think of all the Royal Blue Subaru WRX's that are running around here... I'd do the same to my car, black in color but I have so many dings and kurbs from the previous owner... how much will that primer actually fill?
  5. I agree One tire fire sucks, I went to make a youtube video of my car doing a burnout here's the link DUring my one tire fire I seized up my torque converter in my transmission, fluid everywhere I had to replace the transmission for $1300 with labour. IS300 automatic transmissions suck one tire fires suck Im thinking about getting a altezza swap something
  6. never thought about that, it being the brakes
  7. It doesnt happen when I just get into the car and sit down though once I heard it clunk when I did it has to do with weight shifting possible but I feel the wheel turn a little on the Big Clunks it does otherwise it has differnent ranges of sound and vibration thru the steering wheel sometimes worse then others but like I said its when I turn right doing about five miles per hour having the wheel all the way cranked say parking and what not. if no shop can figure it out is it basically about taking it all apart? They said there looks like there is contact of metal rubbing on that rim on the inside but they saw nothing that it could possible even touch. They pulled and un lodged a piece of stump from in side the wheel well . and the passanger side tire is really close to the door not centerd in the middle like the wheel that clunks I have an appointment with someone that does frame work.
  8. I have those Blue door lights but the cover is red where do I get a smoked cover
  9. I had the same problem when I bought my car last december, Flickerd and the color was almost a dark purple like it wasnt lighting up all the way. Which like he says is a ballast problem I got a ballast off of Ebay thru the dealership and they did it for free then everything else went wrong but thats another story
  10. ok I bought a IS300 its a great car very quick low miles .. as far as I know well taken care of I THINK! when I turn the steering wheel to the right at a slow speed from the drivers front wheel the car clunks very loud and vibrates through the steering wheel. This sound and feeling is very annoying and makes me not even want to drive it. So of course I am seeking someone who can tell me first what the problem is and then to fix it. Two shops in town with a very high reputation for quality can't pin point where the noise is coming from. Ive had it into a local dealership for a free estimate, also I took it to les scwab same thing No answer as to what the clunking could be???. I dont care give me your idea's what you think it could be ? When I was having les scwab look at that clunk they noticed my other wheel the "passenger side is two inches back. Could have something to do with the clunk I am not sure its not from the same wheel. My whole front suspension seems wack could I be in serious trouble? the car drives straight
  11. Not the best rim choice Im more into the offset rims with deep lip but I cant say much Im still rolling stockies on my is300
  12. so hows the swap going?
  13. Thanks that helps Ya I was just thinking while I had it open to maybe put a upgraded one in vs. stock but I just need my car back on the road ASAP but this info helps me on the right track thanks
  14. Seal, yes popped out and fried my torque converter up...................................SIGH!!!! so now Im replacing that where's the cheapest site or place to get a torque converter should I just get a performance one while im at it ...
  15. A Few days ago, I took my stock IS300 for a little fun wanted to use my girlfriends new video camera so I did a simple single tire fire doughnut and after I got down the road my car was making a very quiet Humming sound in timing with the revolution of the motor idling. So I got out peered under the car and tranny fluid was coming out at a pretty quick rate when I shut the car off it slowed down to a drip then to nothing . I limped the car home and got it into the shop not yet hearing much back about it more then it could be a seal? possibly How come my stock is300 cant take simple punishment what do you all think the problem could be? ill re post when I find out today how much it is to fix all I know so far is the leak is coming from the first part of the tranny that area right after the motor car runs drives shifts normal no problems there no clunks no explosions just a light humming and fluid after the burnout VIDEO LINK Of the destruction
