  1. Look at this for 20 sec. <_< I want my 20 seconds back...
  2. you have hit the traction control off button. turning off the trac control system. look for a button that says "trac off" or something to that effect. it may say "TCS off" or "TCS"and press it. not sure on the 300/330 your "message" will dissappear. :D :D the light also comes on when a conde is stored in the computer. go have the computer read to fid out the code and post it here. then we can more accurately tell you how to get the light to go away.
  3. LOL!
  4. Its possible he bought it from a salvage yard or a police auction with the intent to drive/resell. He probably paid very little, with a salvage title, and wants to put 15-20K into rebuilding it to drive for personal use. why si that so hard to believe?
  5. I believe the car is still under warranty, is it not SK? if it is, i wouldnt touch it. let the dealer handle it. :)
  6. court date is jan 12th or eariler. ALOT of my insurance rates being high has to do with the state im in. NY has the highest rates in the country, its automaticall almost a 30% increase (so i was told). and yes its weird that the escort costs the same as it would for me to ensure an SRT4 or a Camaro SS. but that is the way USAA does it. Most insurance compaines do ti that way. if it has 2 doors it is considered a sports car, unless its a hatchback/pickup/SUV. its unfortunate, but its true. this sucks, my career depends on my driving record (didnt know that 3 months ago either).
  7. way to go! but we need better pix lol.
  8. this was a quick job, those items appeared to difficult to get at. and steviej is right, thast where the lojack module was i just thought of that too. it appears to be a team of 5 or so. everyone took a section. dont ask me how i know these things ;) airbags are very difficult to remove without making them deploy, if you are in a situation where a few tools are all you have. this was a car strippers definition of smash and grab, they didnt even take the wheels.
  9. CD changer location perhaps? It appears that it still runs and drives, i will give them $500!
  10. oh, yeah i just noticed the mileage. your right that isnt likely.
  11. haha. mind you its not the same as the one i use, but its the same concept. i cant speak for the reliability of this one. I appreciate that my "signature means something though. That means alot to me, thanks! :D Also if you get one that blows and sucks :D then it makes life alot easier to do things like dry off the car after a car wash ;) you can also use the reverse setting of your genie or craftsman wet/dry vac for that too :)
  12. Meguiars NXT. that is my reccomendation. after a clay. there other good ones, but NXT is my favorite. personal opinion, but it looks great, really brings out the darker colors. made my lex look great EVERY time. but beware, it will only last about a month. but you wount have to reclay every month, just rewax. if you want the stiff that lasts longer, Meguairs Gold Class Paste wax will do almost as good of a job, and last 3-6. but for me, i would rather reapply once a month than have less of a finish.
  13. looks like they were trying to figure out how to get into the trunk. i dont believe the ES will open the trunk without the car running or the button from the remote,,,dont hold me to that.
  14. I have seen more complete jobs than that. certian areas where i grew up, they took EVERYTHING, the hood, trunklid, the woodgrain trim, the gauges, maybe the dash if they have that much time, DEFINTATELY the wheels, locks or not, they would be gone, the ceter console, engine and transmission, steering wheel, the entire audio system (which it appears they left intact), even the muffler. this is all providing they had time.
  15. Meguiars NXT. that is my reccomendation. after a clay.
  16. either a 10 or a 12, i dont know which is in the 400. not sure on the doors, i think they are 5x7. but i dont know for sure. try a search :)
  17. That is what the wife says, OHHH, All kidding on the side I like the look of it, I was/am considering adding some to the interior of my G3. I think subtle upgrades are appropriate. Just don't go overboard. It will be classy. ;) there are 2 things in this world that are best for cleaning your wood trim, real or not. Pledge funiture polish, and Car wax. preferably meguiars. clean with pledge and the apply wax (carefully so as not to get it on the dash,if you do, soapy water will take the white mark off the dashboard). this will keep your wood from fading and becoming brittle over time. :)
  18. Here is your problem, most likely. your timing belt has slightly stretched due to age, and is hitting (slapping) its plastic timing belt cover. it happens on my car too. change the TB it willl likely go away. i would do that anyway as your engine is an interference motor. if the timing belt breaks, your motor will be toast.
  19. they clean the brake pads? <_< Yes of course, don't you? Or is it called something else in "real english"? I hope you are not making fun of me, just because my english is not perfect? What I mean is, that due to salt and snow/rain on the swedish roads, brake parts take a lot of abuse. This is valid for all cars, to some extent. Calipers, pads and parking brake wires corrode on their surfaces, and tend to get stuck. :o To fix it, dismantle the parts, and scrub them with a wire brush. Then apply some kind of "never seize" - personally I use a CRC product with cupper flakes in synthetic semi fluid grease. Works great. This process takes at least 15 min per axle - much more with some cars, time somebody has to pay for... I have not seen any car on which this is not necessary after a couple of years. best regards, Alexander NONO lol i wasnt making fun of you at all, i have seriously never heard fo this procedure being done to disc brakes. now, the drums yes i have heard of it. i have a set (rear) and i clean them every spring. FWIW, i have never seen a car wth disc brakes REQUIRE this procedure. i live in New York State. there is not a place in the world that puts more salt on the roads that NY. and nobody here offers this service. been around cars my whole life and NEVER have i ever dissassembled brakes just to clean them. i have never had a problem LOL. this is completely new to me.
  20. It is called a Free-air sub. they use the trunk fo the car as an enclosure. get on google to find some. ebay has deals also. :D
  21. http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...793745421127519 Family guy fans will love and remember this! http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...462782975458603 Crazy! http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...004324521250241 Super mario unleashed! enjoy!
  22. I use something similar at work. Its how we get the fluid completely out of the humvee transmissions. also how we get the power steering systems and brak systems empty when whe have to change key components. I even had to use it to empty an engine block of its coolant before i sent it to the warehouse for a swap out for a new one. works great on radiators too.
  23. LOL haha!
  24. I am sorry jibby, but i wasnt drinking last night. i saw you attacking a staff member and i jumper in. its the reaction of a soldier. loyalty is an important part of my life so you have to understandy why i did it. the main point of that post was to make everybody realize how chilidish *BLEEP*ing contests are. and thanx...the charger is a beast, but i was simply using it as a "this is what you sound like tactic". and it wasnt just directed at you, there are others in this thread as well. i just chose you cause you were a good example. so i apologize if i offended anyone, but i hate pi$$ing contests. you made me feel like i had to bring out the big guns and i apologize. i think its best we let this thread rest or get it back on topic, as it was a good thread for a few pages. I thouroughly agree with you jibby. the gen 1 1uz is an unstoppable engine.
  25. yeah steve-o, i know. but alot has changed with me since then. i have grown up quite a bit. That happenes when you get out on your own and have to pay your own bills. I hadnt realized yet the effect that would have. yeah, that run was fun, but also foolish. I know better now.
