Sunroof Rattle, Window Alignment, Tie Rods
ArmyofOne replied to element51's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
inner and outer tie rods shouldnt be bad on a car wiht decent mileage/age. how many miles on your car? the R&P on my ES250 went out with 137K on the clock, but it was 15 years old. -

Can y'all help me out? im stumped...i turn my switch on low, i get the low setting, on medium i get the low setting, on high fan speed, i get nothing. so WTF? anybody want to take a guess? this is on my 2002 Escort ZX2 BTW, first problem i have had. EDIT: oh man, i must be tired...i meant to put not a lexus in the title of this thread, instead i wrote not a ford...i lie, it is a ford :)

it could be your air compressor for the A/C is seizeing. the clutch has failed...and its cycling on and off trying to figure out why the compressor is stuck on. replace the a/c clutch/compressor. the coolant system is automaticlally bled, it has a hose on the cap of the tank, a vent hose, for that exact reason :) air bubbles will work their way out after awhile.

Clunk When Braking At Slow Speed
ArmyofOne replied to mnes300's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
oh it only does it on braking. when were your front brakes done last? check your calipers, the bolts ont hem are Torque-to-yield, and if the brake shop that did the brakes last didnt replace them, they are likely to have backed off. same exact thing happened on my brothers ranger when he let "just Brakes" get ahold of his truck...never again. and if they did that, chances are they didnt use a shim kit either. -
Es250 Engine Swap... Knock Sensor?
ArmyofOne replied to xetrov's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
the 88-89 2vz depends on when it was made. knock sensor production started in 07/88, if you get one with a knock sensor...then it was made after july 1988 :) -

I Have Never Clayed Before
ArmyofOne replied to ArmyofOne's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
Jon's got ya covered army it's really easy just feel with the clay and your hands and keep it slick. Hey you like meguiars I see huh? LOL Not just like it, i love it. Its all i have ever used...I used to detial cars for a living when i lived in Dallas, but i never clayed any of them.. i used to charge alot too...but i never offered this service. :( Most of the cars i did were higher end anyways, and were usually kept in decent shape. i would revisit the same customers every 3 months fro a repeat visit. so i "maintained the shie and it never got a chance to collect these "particles", at least i didnt think so. -
dont say that NC, more can and will come as time passes. but its pretty good when you see a forum full of 10 year old cars, and the worst post is about how to change a lightbulb...LOL

Before you go buying a HID kit I would do a search on this forum and online. Check for what kits are good, legal issues for use on roads, cutoff, glare etc. I have an aftermarket kit installed in my escort, it has been trouble free since october. thats about all i can tell you, i dont know much about HID's to be honest.

RFeldes, you are a fuggin riot! LOL.

My homie nathan, borrowing the computer for a little bit. ^My favorite T shirt, I wont wear it, it might be worth something someday. It is on display like all of my other nascar memorabilia. I have alot of stuff at the house in TX that isnt here, an entire room dedicated to nascar. ^A beautiful and SOFT Blanket that my buddy brought back from Korea for me. Not sure what its made of, some kind of fleece. ^Ms. Desiree Wynn sleeps next to me ;) ^My shelf set, Pix of home, Basic Training/AIT, my dog, and the ex fiancee (not the girlfriend i just broke up with). and yes, the dog comes before the ex. ^My personally Autographed Joe Nemechek cap. ^my army !Removed! at the computer, Surfing LOC of course!

I Have Never Clayed Before
ArmyofOne replied to ArmyofOne's topic in Lexus Detailing and Car Care Forum
Here is my Detailing Crew! LOL. -Simple Green (for the engine compartment, works the best IMO) -Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo -Meguiars Gold Class Clear Coat Paste -Meguairs NXT Liquid Wax -Meguiars NXT Tire Spray -Meguiars Scratch-X -Meguiars Color-X -Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Foam -Meguairs Gold Class Dash Trim Foam Protectant -Meguairs Gold Class Quick Detailer-Exterior-Mist & Wipe -Meguairs Gold Class Quick Detailer-Interior-Mist & Wipe -Meguairs Hot Shine Tire Spray -Armor-All Protectant Wipes (the only armor all product i will ever use, for quick cleanup of small spills, and for detailing the engine bay plastics. I *hate* armor-all otherwise) -Bissell Steam & Clean II Steam Cleaner. -California Water Blade (say what you want about it, i love this thing!) -Coleman Orbital Buffer/Applicator. And the buffer: Remember, i dont always use all of these products at once, as many of them do the same thing. -
Steve, i need your help. I have never clayed before, and honestly I am not sure where to start. Spring is right around the corner, and my meguiars lineup is standing by. I will put a pic of the lineup up a little later on. I found a meguiars clay stick for $7.99 at the local ace hardware. I snatched it up. I suppose this will work for getting the process down. start with the cheap one. I did a search and all the things i have found (including your "what do i do first" thread pinned at the top of the page) told me to clay, but didnt show or tell me how. so yeah... a step by step would be great. :D

At 65 MPH a tire on these cars (plus or minus depending on size) will be turning around 750 RPM. All good quality rotors are balanced as part of the manufacturing process, certainly Lexus OE rotors are very well balanced, and that's all I will ever use. If one chooses the "Charging Rhino" off shore brand and finds they produce a shake, well that's your choice, and your outcome, having purchased cheaply. Some barefoot guy standing on a dirt floor is not going to make a quality rotor. That the rotor should be concentric to the center of rotation is obviously critical. Balancing is useless unless that aspect is controlled. oops,i meant that to be a thousand, i was a little buzzed, so excuse the extra zero LOL.

Thats why its an option ;) I'm aware of that. But it's not really an ANSWER to MY question - is it?! ;) Well craig, can i take a stab at this? Its very likely that the average buyer of this car will be someone like SW03ES, a realtor for example. He needs his passenegers to be as comfortable as possible to make the buying process easier. believe me, my parents realtor drove a honda accord. nothing like carting 5 people around in an accord to look at houses . thats just one example. that was the one beef my parents had with their realtor, was that they had to rack up miles on my moms car and my dads truck to go look at houses, or be crammed repeatedly into a 4 door honda accord. and we racked UP the miles, cause we looked at 300 houses in 2 weeks stock brokers and such may need it to. just look at the thing, its fully wired, you could have a business metting, on the way to your business meeting...

Rear Bumper Skin Repaint On Brand New Es330
ArmyofOne replied to kimberly's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
if the scrattch is a gouge then it wont matter. if its just a surface marr, some of it, if not all of it could probably be buffed out... EDIT: Nvm, you said it was a chip. if Lexus is paying for it i would have it done. just me tho. -
heh, yeah i am closest. the NYC dump will take that stuff. if they wont they will point you to the people who can. the NY dump is HUGE the best way to get rid of it, other than that is a cup at a time. dump a cup in the toilet, flush, cup, flush until its done, this should dilute it enough to not be harmful. though one of my friends suggested feeding to an annoying neighbors pet... :whistles: but thats just cruel.

who said anything about booze? LOL. the painkillers are out of my system if i drink.

Here in California, no municipal dumps except hazardous materials except a few that specialize in that sort of thing and they charge a fortune. I personally don't see any great harm putting antifreeze down the toilet because it will end up in a sewage treatment plant rather than in a river plus ethylene glycol is less toxic than common Draino type drain cleaners. *post deleted, due to possibility of staring a flame war, PM me i fyou want to know what it was" -ArmyofOne

but, if he has any integrity <_< , he will try to find the right way to get rid of it, as he is doing. KCpth, take it to a place that performs coolant flushes. they will most likely take it. if not, take it to your city dump, you can get rid of it in the hazardous materials disposal center of your municipality's dump facility.

You have a good theory there NC, very good, in fact i would write lexus corporate. If in fact the screws are as easy to stip as you say, they are indeed the problem. put stainless screws in there yourself and save the trouble. i have some rustproof screws (use them on hummvees all the time) i can send you a bag with assorted sizes and you can pick and choose. after thousands of miles in the salty north, they still have no rust, so i doubt they will rust here. we use the to center the rotors on the humvees. the humvees rotors are at the diff instead of inside the wheel. they are on the other end of the halfshafts. it is called a CBS, or Central Braking System. having done the math, a 12 in rotor turning at 65 MPH is doing approx, 1000RPM. i that rotor weighs 13.5 lbs (thats what yours should weigh) and the weight is off center, then it creates a very bad wobble. i think you are rigth on track.
