ok that it i have had enough. Your SC might be the best thing God ever created. BUT I have a 68 Charger R/T 440/426TT Hybrid with over 1200 RWHP that WILL had your 1uzFE its own !Removed!. and it was created by ME. and my DAD. Our own 2 pairs of hands created that monster. I will run the 1/4 2 (maybe 2.5) times in the time it takes you to do it once. AND I'll do it without NOS (none of my cars have it, its CHEATING). Then my buddies, with cobras, and camaros and even a LINGENFELTER Vette walk you. Then to disgrace you even more, I'll turnaround and rape you in the twisties with my Escort, which by the way has stock suspension (though not much else is stock). So anytime you want to test your ALMIGHTY aluminum or whatever the 1uz is made of, come talk to me. I'll even pay for the track day. all you have to do is drive to TX, and ring my doorbell. give me a call a week in advance so i can arrange travel to TX from NY. or meet me here and I'll have my american muscle waiting...whichever is good for you. I'm easy. (Oh yeah, my dad will drive it here, just to see me walk your !Removed!). This is the first time i have EVER been truly *BLEEP*ed off at anything in this forum. I really am ashamed at a few of you (wont name names, you know who you are), as you are acting like children. HOW DARE YOU come in here and disrespect our staff and our long standing members JIBBY. If i had my way about it you would be gone already...and your ISP Notified. I dont play games, and I DONT take Bull*BLEEP* from people. This forum was fine before you and monarch, and it will be fine LONG after you are gone. I will make sure of it. Steve Withrow is a man i give more respect to than almost ANYONE else on this forum. You messed with the wrong guy there, cause you mess with him and then you *BLEEP* me off and then i think you know where this goes. Im taking care of it, because he has more important things to do than be bothered by your sniveling little comments and beligerent behavior. That said, 1uz's are kickass motors, but there are others out there that kickass too! Im sorry steve, but i cannot in good consience sit here and let this dude attack you. Im sorry and i know your rules on personal attacks, but my feelings must be heard. Do with me as you must, if you must. NOW THAT WAS A *BLEEP*ING CONTEST. having said all of that, I feel much better. F*** THIS THREAD. PM me if you have any need to talk to me about anything in this thread cause i wont be back. It has gotten wayyyyyyyyy off track and has no info that will be of any use to anyone. ArmyofOne out.

OK, Chalk it up to a bad day. Army let's go have a and forget about it. Better days coming. Blah Blah Blah. sure thing mangh. :D

you have to understand where the customer is coming from too tho...but at the same token...even if i just paid $80,000 or MORE for a 2006 LS430, i would demand the best service possible...nothing more. compromises have to be made in life, and the sooner some of these unruly unsatisfyable customers realize that, then the better off the world will be.

I cant update my liscense without paying NY states UNGODLY Income Taxes (TX has no state income tax) it is not a law as i am not considered a permanent resident, since i am stationed here, that i must change my lisence. That fact is true though, if your not in the military. But being military does have its advantages. What im saying is, due to military status, i am considered, for all accounts a transient. i have no permanent address here in NY, only a PO box. Yes, i am paying $340 PER MONTH with USAA. My dad retired AF as well. i have a $500 deductible. The only violations i have were 1 in alaska and 1 in texas. the accident with the lexus never went on my record because i wasnt ticketed, no claim was made against my insurance co. the Alaska Violation was 127 in a 55 (young and stupid, in a camaro SS. the only reason i didnt lose my liscense is because my mother cut it up in front of the judge. i was barely 16 at the time). I paid a rediculous fine 9matching my rediculous speed), was put on probation community service. and The second violation was for the totaling the contour, and it was Failure to contol speed to avoid collision. that was 2 years ago (april of 2004). the first ticket was off my record a year ago...i was paying $90 a month for liability only when i wrecked the lexus. sitll high, but not as bad as it used to be. this was due to the fact that i am under 25. Bottom line, Being young and carrying full coverage on a sports car sucks.
-
The contour had 400K steve ;) and i wish to make ti known before it gets played against me that there was only ONE time i tore that contour apart because i had to and that was to change a clutch at 275,000 miles. The rest of the time, i did it to learn things. and you know what, its paid off. Thank you for your compliments :D

Here's what a Ford F-150 truck engineer had to say about Ford Truck durability standards in 1997 and earlier years: http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_...v31/ai_17489004 "By far, the '97 F-150 is the most thoroughly researched product Ford Motor Co. has ever brought to market," says Thomas D. Baughman, chief program engineer on the F-Series. "Where we used to test our fullsize pick-ups to seven-year levels, the new F-150 was tested to reach 10 years of dependable service." "We raised our durability test standards half-again as much. Our old standard was 100,000 miles of equivalent customer durability. The standard for the '97 F-150 was a whopping 150,000 miles." Monarch, I am in the mood to call you out, Confess, What is your affiliation with toyota? Tell us your backround now or you probably will never be taken seriousy ever again, Get real or your future posts will be taken as air in my and many others eyes. I think your bunk. My opinion, No offense given, But you have to come clean once and for all. It's about time that someone stood up and called Monarch's hand. Who really cares anyway?????????????????????????????/ I really dont, because in all honesty he has disrespected me too many times on this and other forums. I say ban him and be done. thast all im going to say dcfish, ill pm you with the rest as i dont want to sink to his level and perform a personal attack openly on the forums. *HINT* your life will be alot happier if you put him on your ignore list!

LexiRX330, my DL is a TX one, my ins is NY and my registration is too. will this affect anything? and to the guy who said i have a good chance of getting dropped? thats a big negative, I have one accident on my record, my insurance coverage had more than a 6 month lapse in it, im driving a sports car i owe money on, and im under 21. THATS why my insurance is so high. Im high rick yes, but if this ins, co drops me, i will fight that, because i knwo several people with multiple DUI's who still have insurance with USAA. as for other tickets, I have never had one for speeding that went on my record. the one i did get was almost 5 years ago.

Tires Suggestions For 2000 Es300
ArmyofOne replied to cbroadus213's topic in Wheels and Tires Forums
they dont have the same tread ife. the ZE512 i have is a 60K treadlife, the tires abouve have a 30K treadlife. and they WILL NOT WORK in the snow. i have a friend who has them on an AWD eclipse, and that car is essentially parked for the winter. no can do with those in the snow. the ZE512 is a better all around general purpose tire. if you want GRIP in the summer and ONLY the summer... the ST115 is better. i find the ST115 is more suited to Hi-po RWD cars, like supras and the like. Agreed Army. B) I am sure they will not work in the snow but I know I saw them rated with the same tread life in dtd I believe. Both are 360AA. the ZE512 comes in 50,000 miles and 60,000 miles (400 and 420 treadwear rating) -
Its likely, so should i contest it? I should have had like triple brownie points though, its christmas, i was a DD and im active duty military, and they guy still gave me a ticket. Oh well, the unny thing is im not all that upset about it.

google is your friend. :) -
I never told ya'all, but on my way to a party (i was even the DD that night) on the 22nd of dec, i got pulled over. Im not going to tell you i wasnt speeding, cause i was. But what i didnt realize is that the limit went from 65 to 55 just a few seconds prior. I missed the sign. I mean straight up didnt see it. Oh well, it happens to the best of us. 71 in a 55. would have been in a 65, but... I dont consider it a big thing, the officer was VERY polite and so i was too ( i would have been anyways). what could i say? I was speeding. anyways, my point here is this, is there ANYTHING i can do to keep my insuarnce down after this? My ins is already $340 a month on one car. i cant afford it to go any higher. i was told by a friend that if you dont change your ins co and you keep your policy current, they will never re check your record. is this true? anyways, merry christmas to me, Oh well. I cant really be upset. I guess i did it to myself. BTW, i ALWAYS make i t apoint to shake the officer's hand and thank him in any experience i have had with an officer, it goes along way toward smoothing things out.

No one is saying that they don't like their Lexus or anything of the sort. No doubt that the Lexus V8 is better built than the Ford 4.6, the huge price differences account for the different build qualities. However, to immediately dismiss the Ford motor that can undoubtedly go hundreds and hundreds of thousands of trouble free miles is more than questionable. This equivocal remark is what sparked this thread: Where would one start with that? It's fantastic to see how grounded in reality we are when hundreds and hundreds of thousands of miles on the odometers of real life cars mean nothing. LOL There's nothing like a little irony! You're talking trash about the 4.6, and the trash can't be backed up. That's what I call substance and knowledge! OK, Compare the 4.6 to the 4.0 The 4.0 all the way, More horse, Better built. And it is in one of the best built cars on this earth. Can't argue that, Well you could but no one is going to listen. I have a bud that has the 40th anniversery stang and is kicking himself in the !Removed! for buying it after he found out about the 4.0 LEX and it's ability's. I am personally done with this. I love the 3.0 l6 It is a better motor than the 4.0 will ever be. See Ya ! ! ! Just my opinion. Don't rank me too bad, Thanx. ;) you guys are too funny. DCfish, dont think i was trying to put lexus down, i wasnt, not at all. but i cant stand it when people speak out of ignorance. and to say there are no good american cars is just that, ignorant. thats the whole point i was trying to make. take it as you will. i have seen all kinds of motors fail (EVEN LEXUS V8's) under all kinds fo conditions. the bottom line is, ALMOST any car will last an ungodly amount fo miles with perfect care and maintenance. there are that select few, but for the most part the above statement is correct. i cant stand *BLEEP*ing contesets. this said, im out. and dont think i dont like lexus either, just cause i chose to purchase a ford. the ford was just there and suited my needs better at the time. i still love lexus, and i always will.

Possibly Getting Into The Sc300 Scene
ArmyofOne replied to Desertfox's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
nope...but i should warn you, they only made them for 2 or 3 years: 92-93. not sure but maybe 94 and only a small percent were 5 speed. -
I know the V8 i ripped apart from a ford lightning had forged rods! the ones in the mustang GT's are Steel, SOLID steel not steel alloy or coated and then powder ont he inside. and you cant tell me the Corvett ZO6 and the Viper's blocks arent blueprinted, my uncle workss at the plant where the Z06 is made...i can tell you it is. DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!
-
As they shouldn't be since the Fords with the 4.6l are nowhere near as expensive as any Lexus with a V8, not even close!!!!!!! Let's see, $20k compared to $65k. My point is the Ford may not be as well put together, but that means nothing when there are so many of them still on the road with original mechanicals that have 300k+ on the odo. Here's to Lexus supremacy! Not. Your experience is based on the repairs that you performed on cars that are on a used car lot? LOL Used car lot=we sell cheap, previously wrecked, unmaintained crap that any reputable person or dealer can't sell with good conscience. A used car lot is undoubtedly a great place to collect data!! BURN! You still havent listed a failure related to the engine. engine problem, i consider is: Rod, Piston, Piston rings, valvetrain, gaskets, bearings and seals, cams inside the motor. a tranny is not part fo the engine, niehter is the laternator, nor the fuel pump, nor is anything else ON the engine. you wanna talk about american 4 cylinder longevity? the Ford 2.0L Zetec and ow the 2.3L Duratec are some of the BEST 4 cylinders on the road. I have one now with nearly 70K miels that i use the entire powerband on at least once a day and i have had no issues. the 4 cylinder is still smooth as silk. Its a 2002 model with VCT, and its modded, so ill give you the fact that i may have fixed the deficiencies throuhg headwork. so then how do you explain my 1995 ford Contour? same motor, same tranny (MTX-75 5speed) and 384,994 miles on it when i totalled it. the ONLY THINGs I EVER REPLACED ON THAT CAR WAS A CLUTCH. ONE time at 275K, and a transmission mount at that same time (cause i broke it removing the transaxle). I have worked on cars nearly my whole life and i still have not seen ANY reliable data that american ENGINES are more reliable than Japanese ones. I dont usually hear about stock mustangs throwing rods. Ill give you, Japaense cars on the whole (with the excetion f one that i can name on request) are more relaible, i havent seen any data to show me my ford 4 cylinder will through a rod or burn a piston ring faster than a toyota will. i just havent seen it. and i have been around cars since i was born, and worked on them since i was 5 (thanks to my dad). as for cars like contours, there is a reason millions of them were destined for rental car lots and fleet markets, its because they are low maintenance cars that will last quite a while. and they are cheap so if anything serious does go wrong, they are easily replaced/repaired. as for the lincons and crown vics with over 700K, seen it many times, NYC taxi's get more miles put on them than any other cars. eberyting else might be falling apart, but the powertrains are still going strong with years of neglect and incompetence behind the wheel. you cant argue with that. EDIT: i just thought of something, i have seen ALOT more japanese motors running around puffing blue smoke than i have american ones. honda civics, Nissan 300ZX's, toyot camrys and early Lexus ES's. even an LS or 2 when i lived in texas. never saw a cavalier do it (sadlyenough), or a contour...did see a neon do it once.

ArmyofOne replied to F1FTEENTH's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
the bore and bolt pattern are the same..... i have is300 wheels on mine currently. with the excpetion of the GX/RX line, all wheels are interchangeable between lexus's. on a side note, the wheels from lexus will also coss to my brother's 1995 Ford Ranger. Bolt pattern is identical. -
Less than 6 months? hell yess the warranty will cover it. its bumper to bumper!. if i just paid around 70K for a car, it woudl be under warranty.

91 Es250- Intermittent Rear (suspension?) Noise
ArmyofOne replied to jjewell's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
thats exactly what it is. there are 2 buchings on the long control arms in the ES250's rear end. these are called trailing arms. where they connect in the center, under the back seat, the pivot point. those are bad. cost like $10 for the pair and will take like an hour to change its a pretty straightforward procedure. good luck. mine had this problem too. GOT IT. its called a lateral arm. those bushings are bad. #'s 2, and 1 have bushings in those far holes. those are bad. Once again you come thru. You must be my Lexus guardian angel! THANKS!!! If thats not it, check your rear knuckle bushings. but im pretty sure thats it. it sounds like a series of thuds coming from the trunk as you turn or hit a rough road right? Yes, low tone multiple thuds, just like the sound of golf balls bouncing in the trunk. yep, more than likely, these are your culprits. i could be wrong, im not a god LOL. but thats what was causing mine. get the bushings for the camry, they are cheaper and they same bushing, just paying for the Lexus name adds $7 to the price. -
Be careful Army as you rack up the miles on the Falken's........they are getting a little weak in the snow traction department after about 22,000 miles on my wife's leased Focus (I'm driving it until we have to take it back in March......Lexus is in my underground). They are only rated in that size (205 50 16) for 30,000 miles anyways. B) mine have the 420 rating, 60K miles. but i will bear that in mind. thanks! Oh right, I forgot you have the 60 series or higher version. ;) yeah i went with 195/60R15, because they lasted longer. :) thanks for the concern though.
