  1. I guess those little vacuum lines hooked into the ps pump make all the difference. What a rip off! :(
  2. Looking to sale 4 factory chrome SC400 wheels with new Bridgestone 225/55/16 tires. Wheels in good condition. samoht023@aol.com Email if interested.
  3. Both cars will fit 20 inch wheels no problem. Use a 245/35/20 and you'll be worry free. If you want a better looking more aggressive fitment, look for wheel manufactures that offer a 20x10 for the rear and use a 275/30/20 tire.
  4. The best sizes depend on how you want your coupe to look. You can go 20x8.5 and use a 245/35/20 tire and be fine. You could also go with a 20x10 rear with a 275/30/20 tire for the staggered look. www.rpmsuperstore.com
  5. It may not be a good idea to use the factory power wiring to power aftermarket amplifiers for a few reasons: 1. The factory wire isn't heavy enough gauge to supply a decent aftermarket amplifier with enough current to perform properly. This is especially true if the amplifier is going to be use to power subwoofers. 2. The factory amplifier is fused in the fuse box along with all of the other electronics in the vehicle. The bring about potential for electrical noise since all of the other electronics grab power directly from this location. Your best bet is to run a new power wire directly from the battery to the trunk. The SC snaps apart just as easy as a Camry so this task shouldn't be difficult with a few basic tools. I own a car audio/accessory super store so get in contact with me if you need some help. www.rpmsuperstore.com 800-997-TINT(8468) :D
  6. It is the light sensor in my 93 SC. If I cover it up my headlamp come on about 10 second later when the light switch is in auto position.
  7. I use Amsoil 5w-30 synthetic in my 93 sc400. I use Amsoil synthetic differential fluid as well. The only major difference I notice is a slightly lower temperature hand than when I was using conventional oil. I dont think it makes much difference as long as you change the oil regularly. The only advantage may be that you can go longer in between oil changes with synthetic versus conventional oil. I change my oil every 5000 miles and my rear differential fluid every 50000 just to be on the safe side. My SC has 175,000 to date with no major mechanical repairs required. Knock on wood :D
  8. Even though it may be possible, there is no advantage. The money and effort could be put into forced induction on the current motor with better results.
  9. Go for the 400 unless you plan to mod the 300. It's good for the ego!!!
  10. I have a 93 SC 400 with 175000 on the tach and my hood shocks are as good as they were at 50000. The only shocks that seem to have a mind of their own is the trunk shocks. Sometimes the lid stays up and other times it hits me in the head while I'm getting things out of my gym bag. Try these guys for parts on your coupe. Dealers wants $140 for each trunk shock. I've ordered the pair from TAP for $75! T.A.P. Recycling 11337 Dismantle Ct Rancho Cordova, CA 95742 800-765-7100 or 916-631-7100 Mon-Friday 8:00-5:00 PST Saturday 9-3:00 PST
  11. What you are seeing is probably the controls and indicators for a k40 system 2000. Check www.K40.com for details. I have this system in my 93 SC 400, 95 Acura Integra and 91 Acura NSX. The abosolute best radar detector I've ever used. I've been saved from going to jail for sure by using this system. If you like to drive fast then it is an absolute must to have installed on your machine.
  12. JUST BOUGHT MINE ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I HAVE 174000 MILES ON MY 93 SC AND I AVERAGE ABOUT 17 IN THE CITY AND 23 ON THE HIGHWAY. THAT IS "NORMAL DRIVING" NOW WHEN YOU DECIDE TO PUT YOUR FOOT IN IT YOU CAN ALMOST SEE THE GAS NEEDLE MOVE! BUT IT SO SO MUCH FUN AND WELL WORTH THE EXTRA TRIPS TO THE GAS STATION. IF GAS MILEAGE IS YOUR CONCERN, BUY A 4 CYLINDER AS AN EVERYDAY DRIVER.
  13. NO PROBLEM. GO TO YOUR NEAREST UHAUL STORE AND THEY CAN FIT YOUR SC WITH A HIDDEN HITCH FOR TOWING.
  14. I HAVE A 93 SC400 AND BOTH CATS HAVE BEEN GUTTED. WHAT EFFECT WILL THIS HAVE WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR. I KNOW THERE ARE TWO O2 SENSORS AFTER THE CATS. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME INFO ON THIS TOPIC?
  15. IT DOES HAVE 4 OXYGEN SENSORS. 2 BEFORE THE CATS AND TWO AFTER THE CATS.
  16. WHO MAKES GLASS HEADLAMP REPLACEMENTS AND HOW MUCH ARE THEY?
  17. I THINK THOSE PRICES ARE FAIR CONSIDERING WITH COST OF REPLACING THE HEADS IF THE TIMING BELT BREAKS WHILE DRIVING. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. IF YOU ARE MECHANICALLY INCLINED, I RECOMMEND CHANGING THE SPARK PLUGS, WIRES, CAPS AND ROTORS AND COILS YOURSELF. THEY ARE PRETTY EASY TO GET TO. I OWN A 93 SC400 WITH 173500 MILES ON IT. JUST A WEEK AGO MY CAR WAS SITTING AT IDLE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AND SPUTTER LIKE CRAZY. AFTER PLUGING IN MY DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE (LUCKILLY I OWN A HIGH PERFORMANCE AUTO SHOP) I DISCOVERED THAT THE IGNITION COIL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE MOTOR HAD GONE BAD. THE PART COST ME $23 DOLLARS AND ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO CHANGE. WWW.RPMSUPERSTORE.COM 4705 WEST BROAD STREET RICHMOND VA 23230 804-358-9576
  18. I HAVE A 93 SC 400 WITH 173500 MILES ON IT. I LOWERED IT WITH THE EIBACH KIT AND IT RIDES FANTASTIC. DAMPING IS GREAT AND HANDLING IS SUPURB WITH LOWER CENTER OF GRAVITY. WWW.RPMSUPERSTORE.COM 4705 WEST BROAD STREET RICHMOND VA 23230 804-358-9576
  19. I HAVE A 93 SC400. I BOUGHT AN INJEN IS 2085 INTAKE SYSTEM FOR MINE. WWW.INJEN.COM. THIS INTAKE WORKS FOR 92-95 SC/LS 400. YOU CAN ORDER IT FROM ME DIRECTLY. RICHMOND PERFORMANCE MODIFICATIONS 4705 WEST BROAD STREET RICHMOND VA 23230 804-358-9576 WWW.RPMSUPERSTORE.COM MY NAME IS THOMAS
