  1. Hmmm......With all the inefficiencies that you purport, then pray tell, how come the Lexus's get such fabulous gas mileage? Maybe Lexus should hire you to do all these component re-designs. :chairshot:
  2. Did you try to add the attachment as an "Insert Link", or "Insert Image"? If you tried "Insert Image" there's the possibility that the original photo size is too large, and it would have to be reduced in image editing software before it could be accepted for publication on this website. Good luck, and Welcome to the club. :)
  3. Did you check your spare tire also? All ES350's should have a reset button, since they all come equipped with the tire monitoring feature. :whistles:
  4. Could you please repost your 1st post since it was deleted in error. Please post it in this forum. Thanx
  5. I think you made a great deal! You can't do much better than that.
  6. Now that's very funny. LOL
  7. Read post #9. Calling the board useless and thanking everyone for nothing and calling me a know nothing along with everyone else pretty much says it all. Post #7 pretty much answered your inquiry correctly. All you had to do was go your dealer and simply ask to buy the base coat for crystal white. If this flaming continues, I'm going to close this topic! spoll: Please remember that the suggestions that were posted were from members with varied degrees of knowledge in this, and other areas. The posts that I have read were going in the proper direction to help you out, but it was NOT necessary for you to have these negative responses in some of your posts. If you continue to have this problem I suggest that you re-post in the correct forum> http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showforum=9
  8. I'm glad I opted to NOT receive emails whenever a new post from the 'Word Association Game' was posted! Already, I didn't receive 18 emails in my inbox. Now my email service doesn't fill up so quickly with stupid 1 word posts. :chairshot:
  9. Probably just for changing the timing belt and water pump. Read the original post.
  10. Register here and Lexus will send you the owners manual for your car...Free!! https://auth.owners.lexus.com/lexusowners/a...2fssl%2fWelcome>>
  11. The jacking points are shown in your owners manual. Once you see where they are, you jack it up with the floor jack and place the floor stand as close to this point as possible, and slowly release the floor jack so all the weight is on the stand. This is the way I've been doing it for years, with no problems, but if anybody has a better idea, let us know.
  12. Not in his year car.(1993)
  13. The headlight washers get the fluid from the main washer tank, so I would check for clogged nozzles.
  14. Generally, the only reason to go to a dealers service dept. for this type of work is because they're more familiar working with Toyota engines. I would also check the prices at a Toyota dealer for the belt/water pump replacement......it'll probably be cheaper, and they'll use the same OEM parts as would Lexus.
  15. The release date for the '08 ES350 will be sometime in September. Naturally, the discounted price will be closer to the MSRP than a new leftover '07.
  16. It's all in your head my friend! P.S. Unless you have a high mileage GS that has a carboned up engine. Than, and only than will a higher octane fuel show a difference in performance.
  17. Back in the '80s I went to the New York Auto Show. There I met the owner of a Volvo that had over 1 million miles on the odometer. the car was on display(it looked beautiful!), and he told me that the Volvo Corporation was going to present him with a brand new Volvo so they could advertise the long term durability, using his car as an example. The owner did receive the new Volvo as agreed upon. SW, maybe Lexus would also give you a new car free when your mileage approaches 1 million....if you have the time and wherewithal. heehee :)
  18. I must be going to the right dealers, from NY to MN to CA, because everytime I got a loaner they were always washed and vacuumed. :)
  19. As long as the car is in a Lexus dealer service dept. it doesn't matter what year your car is. The loaner service is an added incentive to bring your car to them for service or repairs, but you have to set up an appointment for this work so they'll have a loaner available.
  20. I'll send you a tree. LOL
  21. Some Lexus dealers will give you a loaner car( usually a Lexus model), when your car is in for service. It's a free service! :)
  22. It's very doubtful that Lexus would give you this type of upgrade since they'll probably hold off this feature until the 2009 models. <_<
  23. I'm not sure of the year Lexus started to use this engine cover on GS's, but that now seems to be a standard type of feature on their complete lineup of models, mainly because it looks neater, and supposedly reduces underhood noises slightly.
  24. Although I never used it, there's supposed to be a switch on the bottom of the dashboard to the left of the steering column that disengages the TRAC. It will stay off until you stop the engine and than it'll automatically re-engage when restarted. Don't mix up this switch with the tire pressure monitoring switch which is next to it.
  25. I'll site an example: In 2002 Lexus came out with a new body style for the ES, and it was called an ES300. In 2004 they raised the HP slightly and rebadged it an ES330. They basically kept the ES's the same from 2002 thru 2006. So throughout this time frame I, as well as others NEVER considered these changes dramatic. The big deal is not a change in the engine size, but the re-design of the body.
