  1. My 2010 is Black Sapphire, probably about as deep as yours in tone. I've never seen the sky-blue treatment but it sounds like it would be a complimentary contrast, as long as its not something like a powder blue or a feminine blue. Trust your own taste.

    Fuel Gauge

Could simply be coincidental, but have you thought about the sending unit in the gas tank.

  5. Can any body join in? IMHO Steve is right about chrome wheels and the popularity of aftermarket chrome. It is my experience that it truly is a regional thing. Here in Des Moines you still see plenty of chrome wheels, but fewer than a year or two ago. Mostly because manufacturers are pushing more non-chrome and coastal trends are getting here. Traveling to Florida, Virgina, California, you see very little chrome. Regarding the chrome trim on new cars, I think you miss the point Rob that SW made. What a manufacturer designs for a cars appearance is designed to make it attractive to the buyer. It is based on their sense of taste not yours per Se. What you think of that appearance is your sense of taste. They are two separate things. As for my 2010 ES, I like the chrome handles and the added trim piece along the bottom of the doors.
  6. I'd already have my first 10 million like LEXIR and just coast on my premium residuals! LOL!!
  7. I'd put it to work making another 10 milllion!
  8. Great video!! Thanks for sharing. Welcome to LOC.
  9. Sorry that didn't work. In doing a search of related post, there are several post regarding older systems experiencing problems with solder points on the boards and just plain dust than can cause over heating of some components. Additionally, the amp under the seat can be problematic after all these years and should be checked. You might want to do a search as well just to check if there is more relevant information. Paul
  10. I'm not an expert, but if memory serves me, there is more than one fuse for the system. One in the passenger compartment, and one in the engine compartment.
  11. Welcome to the LOC. Enjoy your new to you Lexus.
  12. Never had any problems on either car. Did you talk to dealer for replacement? Or is the car now out of warranty.?
  13. I have a 2010 350 ES. The park assist sensors are slightly smalller than a quarter. On my vehicle, there are two on each side of the front bumper and four on the rear bumper. You would have to look hard to see them. The rear view camera is above the license plate but is almost completely hidden by an indentation in the trunk. You would have to look hard to find it. I know of no holes or brackets. I actually get more use out of the sensors than I do the rear view camera. They let me know when to stop when pulling into a garage, etc. They also warn you if you are getting too close to an obsticle on the side. The rear view camera is nice though but I don't use it as much as I should. I use it mainly to make sure my dogs and cats are ouit of the way when I back up. Sometimes they come out of nowhere and I have to stop. Ditto; A photo probably wouldn't be of much use because you could not see the camera. It is tucked up at an angle above the license on the under lip of the trunk. The rear sensors will guide you precisely when backing into a Parrnell parking spot. No more wondering how close you are to the car behind you. But wait...there's more! You also get this set of steak knives...LOL
  14. Just a suggestion, but you might also post this in the LS400 forum for a better response.
  15. I wouldn't disconnect the battery, but I would put a trickle charger on it. How old is your battery? The older, the more reason to use the charger. Paul
  16. The nav screen and instrument lighting automatically dim, (background turns black on nav) when the headlight sensor comes on. The brightness of the instruments can be adjusted by the rotary wheel to the left of the steering wheel column. If you turn the rotary wheel all the way to the top,(stop point) it will turn the nav screen back to white and the instruments all the way full on. Pretty bright! The interior lights are turned on by the buttons on the overhead panel. These can be somewhat confusing in that if you push one button the rear overhead light will not come on when you open the doors. But you won't know that until you have the occasion to open the doors and thus may not make the connection. Just push the button again and all is well. Hope this answers your questions. The 2010/2011 is a great car. Make the jump! Paul
  17. Had an interesting conversation today with my son-in-law who is a deputy sheriff in Melbourne, Florida. I asked him how he felt about the use of red light cameras and speeding cameras. His answer was surprising. In his opinion they are a bad idea. The red light cameras can help prevent some accidents, but causes far to many rear end collisions from people trying to stop short in fear of entering the intersection before the light turns red. Also anyone driving your car can trigger a ticket and you have to pay it. He feels it's a revenue maker for cities and some private company who gets a larger percentage of the fine than does the municipality. As far as speeding cameras go, his opinion is that they are truly strictly money makers and serve no valid purpose in deterring speeding. real deterrence comes from an actual patrol stop even if it is only a warning. He also complained about the extraordinary expense in speeding fines. In his county they begin at $200 and go up to as much as $400-$500. How many people can afford to pay that type of fine he said. Paul
  18. Just for clarification, it sounds as though each of your systems is a non-navigation radio. Is this right? Paul
  19. Congratulations!!!!! Glad your dreams are finally coming true. My brother lives in Richmond and love's it. Just wishes they would quit reliving the war over and over. LOL
  20. City revenue or safety. I bet this will get some strong responses. If you don't have an opinion you don't have a pulse. http://autos.aol.com/article/red-light-camera-backlash/
  21. Why take out the washer head itself and leave an ugly hole. Just take off the washer fluid tubing from the head light washer head and plug the tube or, plug the tube connection at the washer fluid pump. Either way the washers won't work any more but the car will still look stock. Just my two cents. Welcome to the club!
  22. I imagine the officer wanted an excuse, (any excuse!) to look over a $400,000 automobile. Heck, he probably called his buddy's for backup so they could Oo & Ahhh! LOL
  23. Talk about the ultimate "road trip"!! LOL
  24. NASCAR driver gets busted doing 125mph in a 45 zone with a Lexus LFA. Judge throws the book at him! http://www.autoblog.com/2011/08/24/kyle-busch-reportedly-loses-license-for-45-days-for-speeding-in/
