thanks for responding, It started when the fuel needle was replaced, then it happened, so I bought Another dash cluster off e-bay for needles and to see if the fuel gauge worked and mnechanic replaced it, and its the same thingonly goes half way up.

COould use some help, I replace the fuel gauge needle, old needle burnt out, replaced needle and now the fuel gauge just goes about 1/2 the way up and stays there and I have a full tank. anyone have any advise? I bought another used dash and mechanic replaced it and fuel gauge still will not work. Appreictae if anyone has any advise for me. thanks Mclark

I have another Issue could use some advice, I switch fuel needle and temp needle on my 1992 Sc400, now fuel gauge just goes up just alittle below 1/2 tank and wont move, and temp gauge goes up 3/4 the way and motor not running hot its been checked any one have any ideas. a mechanic said the fuel gauge motor need replaced and that over $300 just for the motor. appreciate any help

I have 1992 Sc 400 and kind of have the same issue, Except I changed the needles on the fuel and temp gauges, now the fuel go just a little below the half mark and doesn't move and stays there, and the temp gauge now goes up 3/4 the way and I ;ve it checked motor not running hot. Does anyone know about fuel gauge issues after changing the lighted needles? some mechanic said for fuel gauge motor needs replace and that over $300.00. Anyone ever had this problem or any ideas? appreciate the help
