  1. I drove a 460...beautiful car but not as "solid" overall as my 95. Certainly not worth all that money difference (to me at least) I agree when you open and close the doors and especially when you sit in it it exudes an air of special luxury, no American car I've ever owned (and I've owned about all of em at one time or another) is built like this. I'll keep drivin and if a 98-2000 400 pops up with low miles down the road that may be the route I take. We winter in Florida and there's always a senior owned low mile one somewhere for sale. Thanks again for the nice comments! Enjoy!
  2. Thanks, Guys...I'm figuring trade in and resale on this old guy is next to nothing, a 95 model with 165K on it isn't worth that much. I think I'll keep driving until something "major" breaks or wears out, then get the 460 Heck, it's free miles at this point less the gas/oil. And I've been seen in a lot worse...LOL
  3. Hi All; In my younger days I lusted after an LS400...when you drove one of these, they used to say you have "arrived". I eventually got one years ago and saw what they meant. This handsome fella has 165,000 on it, but still runs like the day it was new, would love a 460 but I may die with this old 95. Bottom line is there is no GOOD reason to trade/sell it. Hope you other guys are this lucky!
  4. Well, here's a pic of the work so far... Got quite a bit accomplished today...all lights working, tilt working, oil changed, detailed, now to paint the passenger mirror and wax...I guess not bad for under 4K I don't think I could have done much better in tha price range. So far so good!
  5. Well, after taking the right half of trunk liner out (PITA) I found out you needn;t do either. The doggone light assembly comes out from back. 1. Open Trunk. 2. Look to left of light assembly...you'll see two plugs 3. Take plugs out, you see two 10MM screws 3. Unscrew them, light will pull out has two push pins and the screws holding it in! Maybe the mod will want to pin this, it's stupid easy, so no one will have to take the trunk apart before they figure it out (like me) Still did not solve my rear light failure warning light problem, double checked everything, all working properly. Read where another guy said he had same problem eventually one light that was the problem failed, he replaced and light went out. That's what I'll do, meanwhile if it ain;t broke don't fix it ENJOY THE RIDE!
  6. Right rear side marker light is out, do I access thru trunk side or wheelwell? Anyone got a vid, or a link for this? Or how hard is it to get to? Thanks, Tom
  7. Hello from a proud new LS 400 Owner! I'm Tom Good to be here... Just took delivery of my "new" 1995 LS400 (fleabay) Got pretty lucky, it's not cherry but not a dog either. Had the manual in the glovebox with a timing belt change at 120K (car has 165K now so I am extermely happy) At one time was a Lexus Certified Pre Owned car (99) Washed the engine tonight, I don't believe that poor thing had been cleaned in years, threw the check engine light with five codes for misfire, but that cleared up and I cleared the code. No problem. I just can't abide a dirty motor, especially on a $55,000 car. Usual fixes are needed from what I read here they are common anyway (cd mag stuck, tilt wheel non operative, antenna inoperative,) but runs fantastic, and I believe out rides my 97 deville delegance. This has always been my "dream car" glad it's finally here. I'll make it as good as I can, and post some pics. Also will have some questions. Thanks in advance for your help and/or advice, which I will surely need and appreciate! Tom 1995 LS400 True Silver/Grey 165,000
