  1. No, a Federal certification doesn't make passing smog in Cali any harder. The only difference between a Federal and a California/Federal certified vehicle, is the required emission control components. Federal (only) certified vehicles, get away with slightly higher "maximum allowable" emission readings than a California/Ferderal vehicle would. Which part of Cali are you moving to?
  2. Atf works, but I wouldn't leave it in for 1000 miles....more like 20 miles. Are you sure that it's lifter tap though?
  3. No, don't use the block sealing additive. That crap runs through your entire cooling system. Just imagine everything that it's going to coat. Not to mention, chances of clogging your heater core and radiatior passages.
  4. Does Texas test for NOx emissions? I thought that you guys still use the "two speed idle" test?
  5. Your car isn't going to run like a champ, with 18-20 psi of boost. Internals? Fully build it. What is your budget? Who cares about how many psi that your motor is seeing. Why are you even shooting for 18-20 psi? What are your rwhp goals?
  6. Or, maybe it's not white smoke?? Are you sure that it's not blue/gray? Does it occur all the time, even when you engine is nice and warm?
  7. Take your car to a qualified auto technician.
  8. Did you figure out what the problem was?
  9. You need flare wrenches to make the removal easier. The fuel filter connectors were not over-torqued by the factory. The reason everyone has trouble getting them off is because the filter is not housed in a sealed enclosure, so they have been exposed to many elements, over hundreds of thousand miles.
  10. The fan spins all the time, it just spins faster with the clutch enagaged.
  11. If money wasn't an object then we would both own Ferrari's.
  12. Why would you advise someone to replace a radiator, without knowing the condition of it?
  13. 3" is also great if for NA built, high compression motors. It's probably better that you stick with the stock piping. Like DC said...some back-pressure is desirable.
