  1. I tried doing a search but could not find help for my specific issue. two days ago i was driving home with the heater on fairly high. When i was almost home i noticed smoke/steam coming out of my engine. i checked the engine and saw all of my coolant gone. yesterday i filled the coolant resevoir with almost 2 quarts of 50/50 coolant water mix. i started drivinh and noticed my heater no longer worked but everything else was fine. after about 10 miles my car started was overheating again. but the coolant level dropped to almost low from above full. i came back to my car and the coolant was the same. drove about 2 miles to my friends house with no problems then added coolant. drove 3-4 miles to a gas station and it was overheating again and the coolant was gone from the resevoir. I added water drove to my friends house and parked it. I did notice bubbles coming into my resevoir through all of this so thought it was normal. when reading another post i saw there might be air coming into coolant line and that might be causing plroblems. I need help in figuring out what the problem is. This car is also my daily drive and i need it to get to work. any help is appreciated.
  2. Thanks ya that helps alot. Any idea on how hard it is to change the motor/transmission mounts?
  3. I recently got my Lexus. and had some quick questions About how many people showed up at the last seattle meet? is there a NW Lexus forum? or NW Soarer forum?
  4. From the little i know. For the most part when everyday people see the SC300 they see a Luxury sport coupe. When People into the tuning scene see a Sc300, they see a heavy RWD Toyota with huge power potential. But when i see my car i think about how only a few of SC's Ive seen go for drag times alone. I've seen SC's as show cars, drifters, etc. even though they are hella heavy. So how does the Soarer really Compare at... ...Drifting ...Auto-X ...Drag ...Handling ...Overall ...Against other cars in its class What else is really in the Soarers class?
  5. Hi guys im new to this forum and a new owner of a SC300. The SC i have was bought in '94 by my uncle, then driven by his wife. It died at about 225,000 miles. He replaced the engine with a JDM 2jz-ge (same engine) and now it has 238,000 miles. He recently bought a newer GS300 and a RX300 to accomodate for his new baby girl. He probably wanted to keep his SC as a weekend driver or just to remember the 13ish years he had it, but it has finally come to me. The way i see things now. I think this car will possibly be my daily drive for the next 4-5 years. so i want to try to make it a reliable, hella clean daily driver before i even think of turbo/high performance. So my car has, 238,000 miles on the chassis 45,000 miles on the engine In the last 2 Days i have Oil change Personal clean/detail change air filter car wash Before summer plans Redo whole suspension (still deciding specifics) Front lower control arms Rims i have laying around? (18" chrome) I have been doing alot of research before and more now that i have the car. But i need expierenced opinions. Is there something else i should take care of first? What else should i do soon? I seen to have noted all the common problems most of which i have e.g. dash lights, door hinge, control arm joints+bushings, fading/bad leather, antenna issues, etc. But since the chassis does have almost 240k miles is there any high mileage specific problems i may need to watch out for? such as transmission or axles issues? Any help is appreciated!
