  1. so is transmission mount very unlikely to go bad i can tell my dogbone one is done....but I wonder if the clunkign you describe(exactly my problem from steppig off on gas is from tranny mount or just the dogbone) from dealer how much is tranny mount...
  2. hey guys finally found the thread I was looking for starter fix: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...amp;qpid=198262 I still have some questions(i know i posted some in that thread too) about how kit price varies by 20-30 cents from various years though replys prior to mined indicated so many totyota models camry es300 suvs avalon etc all use same starter... I haven't taken mined out but can anyone confirm part numbers needed for 94 es positve 28226-55050 28266-66060 negative 28226-4070 28226-72010 I also want to replace starter wire. What gauge is it now how long is the run? My mechanic is gonna help me out but i want to pick up parts before I get to my house. Also doe anyone have approximate length of run from alt to bat. toysrme i know you did that run...is default 4 ga. or smaller ? what gauge can fit easy. I ran 1 ga to amps from batt but I dont wanna try and fit that through engine bay. Also is it an o ring crimped connector to bolt at starter and alt like most grounds or something different? 4 ga. shouldnt be too hard to run right or am I being naive? please advise.
  3. guys check out these 2 links.and descriptions below...Is there truly this much variance in parts sizes etc...94 96 97 4 door v6 have different kits and then the 2 door version suppossedly has different kit about 7 or 8 diff options from 94-2000 between camry 2 door and 4 door and v6 i-4 .... http://www.prostreetonline.com/catalog/toy...rtercontactset/ http://www.prostreetonline.com/catalog/lex...rtercontactset/ ... even 96 vs 94 have a different price and part no. and 20-30 cents variance in price whats the basis? 4. I just went through the most pia maintanence task(so far) on this car of changing out window regulator...woulda been a lot easier with second person to hold window up.. ... Anway I think my problem is related to when i screwed in three screws to the actual glass. I did my best to line up in the middle of the tic tac toe diagram and was happy that after I did this absolutely no air leak noise. Now if i close my door the same way I have been doing for years it doesnt close all the way....but if window rolled down a little bit its okay meaning that my window is up too high. Will this make the glass more frail and susceptible to crack/break? .. What is the proper position in that tic tac toe shaped diagram to tighten screws? I thought I had it right in the middle.
  5. pregap from autozone was .42 but i checked sparkplugs.com or whatever the link from a similar thread an its .44 so i better check mined againt to make sure...
  6. hey on 1mzfe 3rd gen gap is .42 right....?
  7. yeah its not quite that hype but still a grip of people out here love when the nascar circuit runs through here the subwya 500 and some other race comes through here....
  8. I have read all three pages of this thread..and I have bought my 2 cans. I will try and figure out how to take off UIM today and finally change back three plugs...I'm gooing to try and attempt sending it through brakeline hoping the car starts when Im done waiting. ... ....I think the consensus is that it wont hurt o2 sensor or plugs but wait till you are near oil change to do it to avoid having dirt run in engine for 3k + miles.
  9. okay so if it was tied for first is it possible to say that it is as accurate as a later model 3rd gen lex in terms of codes that would pop up if o2 is bad or egr has too much build up etc....because my car runs okay but my mileage has dropped about 5mpg....that freaks me out...
  10. Yeah i think im gonna order the highlander unit from a shop....its hard to find a ship in the phoenix area that does that...i remember righ out of high school looking through yellow pages just calling up shop after shop but nobody does it...
  11. If highlander alt is just a drop in im goin into more debt and buying that regardless of price difference(i wonder if they will accept my core lol)
  12. what amp are you running that is RMS 400 x 6 ? that sounds foreign to me? what are you powering with that...Are you sure that is RMX and not MAX even then that would be a huge channel amp....or once again did I read your reply wrong>
  13. Is 94 the first year of ES that is OBDII? I know when I get CEL I can go and get codes read. The guy will say that OBD II didnt start on most cars till 96 but the connector goes on and works on our car. I just have noticed my mileage went down tremendously over the last few weeks but as a whole the car runs okay minus shaking while in idle.
  14. guys costco is a great place to get red top or yellow top as well...their exchange program if it ever goes bad is the easiest and most convenient than any online retailer or local shop....Replaced my red top witha yellow top 154 ...I think red top is 119.....the ones they carry have both side mount and top mount....Looking at the engine bay positive is on the left and neg on right btw(donno if that is reverse or regular poles)
  15. guys there was thread where someone referenced the part numbers to buy . I remember one was 12 bucks and the other was 6 ....Can anyone describe those 2 parts or have a link to that thread?
  16. okay i had a feelin last time when i was responding that thats what you meant but wasnt sure...maybe ill get to it this weekend...8 ga 4 ga what size is it what size will it accept?
  17. well its not taking em off its justgettin to emmy big pudgy fingers wont really fit in there...i read old threads andmost suggest taking off upper intake manifold....but that seems liek a bich but i need to just get over that hump i guess....
  18. sorry used search found answer for acetone mix ratio.....sorry...
  19. the 4runner has a beefy alt (120A) I think. I would love to make that fit in my car. lol...Avalon and LS400 do they use the same one or similar output? Anyone have sucess with a particular alternator. The oem on on a 94 puts out only 80A and I dont know if it would be worth it to try and find some shop to get it rewound for the same price as buying a better one...
  20. I have 160k on a 94 and I used to average 20mpg with mostly freeway driving 315/15.5 and over the last few weeks with more stop and go on freeway traffic I am at about 17 260/15.5 Going through tune up process now and will update in a few weeks when I feel like its running normal again.
  21. Okay so KYB will have most similar to stock ride anything you would suggest more a more comfortable ride...Are they the GR2 series? or a different line? Ive been drivin with my door panel this whole week until regulator comes in...Ill figure out allignment once I get new regulator installed.. I also have a aftermarket stereo ! 600 rms class D and 300 rms 4 channel... but if replacing starter imrpoves voltage level whjiile driving its worth it....found a thread on here about replacing 12 dollar part and 6 dollar part inside instead of replacing whole starter might be a venture for next week also i figured you had some custom shop do the work on blanks you bought...I just didnt know where to start on determining how I would want them slotted etc...i bought all 4 at once but only ended up replacing front so thats why i was curious on whether you bought blanks and found someone to do some work for you. I was just looking for an idea on how much you spent...anyway thanks for the info...
  22. if those are stripped and you wanna be filthy you can bend cover without braking it off but itll crack...(thats what I did last night...I gotta feeling im not gonna find one in a junk yard but ill try it anyway...)
  23. "Made with aircraft-quality billet aluminum alloy" I think thats a way to dress it up but on my maxima it was also an alloy there was no way in H e ll that I could justbend or break it easily...and really no flex....
