Wheel Balancing

I have a 93 ls 400 with vibration at 70mph, want to get wheels balanced, does it make a difference what system is used????? thank you

B) sometimes just rotating the tires can do the trick too.

May have to index tires also; watch for any high spots [out of round] as the tire is spinning on the balance mach.---as it coasts down.

What about wheel aligment? Does it matter?

Wheel alignment is critical, and having it set first is the advice I have given a few times on this board. The LS is particularly easy to align, and both front and rear axles must be done. Most vibrations at speeds above 60 mph are induced by alignment, rather than imbalance. Most imbalances show up in the 40-50 mph range.

Of course worn or soft bushings can allow an alignment to seem fine, but they distort at higher speeds and loads, causing the tire to squirm and flex, which causes a sensation like an out of balance condition.

My LS has a few front end clunks on the left side for some reason, but I had a very good alignment done when I first bought it (it was out a lot!) and it tracks and rides like new.
