Extended Warranty

Recommended Posts

I bought a CPO 2006 Rx400h 3 years ago. The warranty is about to expire in February. It has 82,000 miles on it now. Is it worth it to buy extended warranty or not?

If it covers the battery, yes.

I believe all hybrid all components are covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles (150,000 in CA). Consumer reports recommends against buying an extended warranty. Their advice is to put the money where you can access it when needed.

Dave, how did you find out about the 150,000 miles in CA components warranty? Did the dealer tell you or is this something you or I would have to ask about? How would one find this info out?

Thanks, Bob

Bob,

I've been reading about this CA-only extension of the hybrid components warranty for quite a few years now. The best way to verify may be with the CA BAR.
