Will a 1998 LS 400 headlamp assembly fit on a 1996?

Yes they are interchangeable for a price. You have to buy new 98-00 fenders ,hood , grille , foglights chrome strip and bumpers and then they fit like a glove with the headlights and corner lights.

Otherwise you can modify Jetta aftermarket projectors such as lexcost is doing.
