Yep, and people were calling me crazy when I said they've created a very good product.

well they do offer a 10 year/100k warranty, so they're confident that their vehicles are well built.:wacko:

I rented a Hyundai Sonata in Scottsdale, AZ about a year ago from Hertz. I was originally disappointed because they didn't have the Camry that I ordered in stock. My disappointment was short lived after driving this car. Ride, Performance, quietness, and build quality were really excellent. I remember saying to myself.....I will no longer put down Hyundai's as a second rate car manufacturer. This company has come a long way in a very short time. Look at the Azera and you'll see what I mean.

HAHAHA Just when I read “Hyundai” I quickly remembered your statements………..and that thread.

Welll since I rock the boat at times, the study is only "Initial Quality Study" not a "down the road study" Looks like Ford, opps Jag is getting up there.

Yes, but often the IQ study paralells the dependability study. If you compare Hyundai's ranking now to their ranking 3 years ago, they've made one of the most enormous improvements in quality and customer satisfaction in the industry. Can't fault that.

Here's the breakdown of the J.D. Powers Initial Quality Study. It shows the differences between "Design Defects" and "Manufacturing Defects."

It may.....or may not make you feel better!

Friend of mine just bought a new Hyundai over a Camry at my urging. Once he drove the two and compared the price difference, he said the decision was easy ;)

porsche has the least design defects...probably because they dont change their design
