Painting Windshield Wiper Arm

Recommended Posts

Hello my windshield wiper arms paint is etched away on the edge and it makes the car look old. I think replacing it would be very hard and pointless, so I want to paint it. Is that realistic, what kind of paint should I use, I want it to be quality not just spray painted. Here is a picture.

It looks kind of like camera flash but its not and I could not get better shot.

Thanks in advance

the wipers are easy to remove. i dit it myself when i cleaned the cowl area out.(leaves had collected).

lightly sand the wipers with some 400, then 600 grit papers. spray a coat of paint on thinly, let dry. sand with 1000 grit, respray. use a satin black paint.

The easiest way is to remove the wiper blade, then place newspaper under the arm and spray it with tremclad satin or matt finish or glossy if desired.

Scuf it with an sos pads for additional adhesion.

how do you actually remove the wiper arm?
