Outside Mirror Position (reverse).

Can anyone tell me what would cause the mirrors to stop lowering in reverse? I drive the car to church on Sundays (my wife's car) and noticed it. My owners manual is misplaced. I assume they need to be programmed. I don't understand why they would stop doing this. Any help on this matter is appreciated.

The mirrors tilt down only when the adjustment switch is the "Left" or "Right" position - not when the switch is in the center position.

What year was the flip down mirror standard. I have it on both my BMW'S 90 and 97. I was kinda surprised the LS ddint have it. But then again I was surprised my 97 BMW didnt have the light dimming outside glass like the Lexus does. The BMW only has the interior mirror dim. Kinda sucks when you're driving at night and you go from inside to outside mirror.

In the 98 LS the manual says the switch MUST-BE in the left position.

I tried it and they are correct -- it will not work in any other position.
