BMAN1113
I've heard several people say that switching to a synthetic oil will causing leaks to occur. ??? Has anyone here heard the same? I switched to Amsoil over a year ago and haven't incountered any leaks. My friend has run it for over two years with no problems. Why would this happen? JDOwen2
The synthetic oil will not "cause" a leak, it's just more likely to find a leak.
SirSam
I think synthetic should be better able to seal one to.
johnny3
Many cars with moderately high milage (80k +) that change to synthetic start leaking a little. Just ask a few that have done it. (Me on several different cars.)
SKperformance
Please do a search when asking anything about oil as it has alwayus been asked before just like this question. General questions that are not specific are found in the General maintance section.
