sunman Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 I placed an order for 6 NGK iridiums for my 97 ES. Stock in my car were platinums. I will let you all know how they perform.
SKperformance Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 I like them as i put them in my civc a few hours ago. they haul . BTW what do they cost for the iridiums
lexusk8 Posted September 11, 2004 Posted September 11, 2004 I installed a set of Denso Iridiums in my '01 ES a few months ago, during the time when I had 90K on the odometer. Those spark plugs were about $12.99 USD each, and I got them from the local Autozone store. The old ones that I took out were the factory NGKs.
sunman Posted September 11, 2004 Author Posted September 11, 2004 I paid 50 with shipping for 6 of them on ebay.
SKperformance Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 WOW, i payed 28 canadian for 4. $7 a plug
SKperformance Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I deal with wholsalers as i am in the auto BIZ but walmart rivals most shops by far.
sunman Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 i starting to change the plugs out in my car. THe 2 under the intake manifold are a ROYAL P.I.T.A. I did manage to get them finally. The tips of one the plugs broke when it fell. Can I get it locally at pepboys?
sunman Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 I managed to get the plug locally at pepboys. I installed them already. Car runs great. Idles' better. I don't think there will be any difference in fuel intake but I will check tomake sure. The old plugs were in bad shape.
Senna4ever Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Two questions: are the bolts for the engine cover standard bolts? The plugs at the back of the engine look like they are a PIA to get to. Are they?
NeiLtYmE Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 took me 30 minutes to get a smart way into there. Patience is key... and a little bit of chucking tools across the driveway
SKperformance Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 An easier way to acess the back also is to remove one bolt from the dogbone mount and have the transmission in park as you park it on a slant forward this will cause the engine to rock forward for added clearance. then place into neutral to rebolt the mount
Emilio Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Do any of you know the size of the hex tool for the manifold cover? I'm having a difficult time trying to change my spark plugs and wires. Thanks!
