If you're going off road in yours, replace the running boards (side steps) with sliders. New sliders will run about $700. Not only will they protect your rocker panels, they will withstand the beating your truck off road. The guys at www.sleeoffroad.com have sliders for the LX 470. They have a built up LX 470 that they take off-road as well.

I take my LX 450 offroad all the time. Some trails in Moab (Utah) might be okay for stock vehicles, but anything serious will require modifications.

only had fun at tracks with chryslers for offroading and the autoshow

today at a car show i was in they had a Hummer H1 go up a big hill that the motorX bikes come down after doing flips from a ramp

well mister big boy went up and couldn;t get down

basically he went over the front and the bottom of the truck touched the dirt and it couldn;t moe

they got the digger out to push it over by the tow tongue

lmao

it got more crowds than the bikes did

I take my 470 offroad fairly often. Both in the White Mountains of Arizona and here in Tucson. It's a great truck. The clearance adjustments come in handy and the suspension is great for on-off road conditions.

I have been stuck at the beach though, and don't get too aggressive in the mountains. I am usually the only truck up there where I go.

Because of this I just ordered an ARB Sahara bumper with a 10,000 Warn winch, integrated fog lights and Hella off-road 3000 series lights.

When this is installed, I will be more daring. The truck is better than my old 94 Landcruiser and far superior to my (sold) supercharged Expedition.

Great trucks and nice to be in to boot. I might try a trip with the local landcruiser club, if they will have me.
