  2. Yeah I’ve checked out the videos. I wouldn’t post here without first checking that stuff, heh. 😛 There’s one in particular which shows a schematic and this is how I know that I’m doing the right thing (loosening the right bolts, etc.). The thing is, it seems like I can’t loosen the tensioner any more, and it needs to be looser. Tomorrow when I have some light, I’m gonna try and actually disconnect the various cables in the hopes of creating more clearance, then I’m gonna see if I can’t get the tensioner to loosen even more, because the last video I looked at seems as if it *should* get looser. This is the video btw, in case anyone ever wants to see. I think this is the best one available:

  4. We're looking to buy a used GX 460 but want the brake hold feature. If it's available, could you tell us what years and trim packages it is on? Thanks!
  5. Yes, after replacing the battery in your 2016 Lexus RX350, you will need to perform a reset to ensure all systems are functioning optimally. Here are the steps to reset your Lexus after replacing the battery: Turn Off the Ignition and Disconnect the Negative Terminal: Before you start, make sure the ignition is turned off. Then, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery1. Wait for 15 Minutes: Allow the vehicle’s systems to reset by waiting for about 15 minutes. Reconnect the Negative Terminal and Turn On the Ignition: After waiting, reconnect the negative terminal and turn on the ignition1. Reset Specific Functions: Follow the on-screen prompts to reset specific functions. This includes resetting the clock and date settings, power windows and sunroof, and the audio and navigation systems. Test the Functionality of Your Lexus After Resetting: After you’ve completed the reset, test the functionality of your Lexus to ensure everything is working properly. Please note that each window has to be reset individually. To do this, start the vehicle and roll each window down and hold for second. Also, all your radio presets will be lost and you will have to re-enter all. If you experience any issues with the functionality of your Lexus after resetting, troubleshooting options are available for common issues during the resetting process. A comprehensive test drive helps identify and address any remaining issues.

  7. Traction control can come in handy under the following conditions: Heavy Rain, Snow, or Icy Conditions: Traction control is essential in situations such as heavy rain, snow, or icy roads, significantly improving safety. It helps prevent your car from losing traction, hydroplaning, or potentially crashing. Navigating Curves in Adverse Weather or Making Sharp Turns on Unstable Surfaces: It proves particularly valuable when navigating curves in adverse weather or making sharp turns on unstable surfaces. Driving on Slippery or Uneven Roads: Traction control should be on for most driving conditions, especially slippery or uneven roads. Sometimes a no-start (no crank) conditions indicates that the starter is failing. If the odometer is broken, how can you know for certain how many miles have been driven?
  8. What year is your RX 350? By the way, I've found that Apple is seldom "state of the art". They still do not have an intelligent stylus. and their photo abilities are almost always a year behind that of Samsung. Perhaps it's good that Toyota/Lexus does not imitate Apple.😏
  9. Probably going to take some HEAT for saying this, but it's the truth: I've gone thru two dash cams very quickly and finally gave up the notion that electronics operated above the dashboard will last very long. Computer chips/components generate a lot of heat due to higher clock speeds. Add to that temperatures near 150 F in direct sunlight, and you have a situation where components age quicker than they would sitting on your stereo/TV shelf. A good practice is to keep a bright reflective dash or windshield cover in use after parking outside. And always park facing the car away from the sun. That also reduces the heat build up on your seats and seat-backs which in turn reduces wear on the seat fabric. Just whistling past the junk yard.
  10. The LS500 exhaust system has two GPF (gasoline particulate filters). These cars seem to have a propensity for emitting white exhaust smoke in cold weather. Could this be due to the gasoline particulate filters that Lexus uses on the 3.4 twin turbo V6?
  11. Any thoughts on why 23LJ01 (2nd Key Fob program) is not listed as a service campaign on the status/health tabs of the Lexus app? I have reported to the NHTSA as I see this as a safety/security issue. The digital key is very glitchy and could leave one stranded. Lost phone or dead phone battery or dead spot could also leave one locked out and stranded. Lexus should have, at the least, provided a lower tech card key as a backup.
  12. O2 sensors changed. still no help with rough idle. car starts fine. Lexus claims it's due to faulty fuel injector system flooding the right cylinder bank. they claim fuel injection system is unavailable. any ideas? spent about $4500 to fix and still have the problem could you a little advice. thx / Rog
  13. Thanks! I have done reprogrammed the windows for sure. I'm going to start looking at a junkyard, but it'd be awesome to find an aftermarket.
  14. A bit of an update. Have had the LS460 on a battery tender all winter. Car hasn't been driven for about 35 days, prior to unplugging the tender. Took it off two weeks ago as I was going away and didn't want to plugged in while I was gone. Got back, measured the battery voltage, still at 12.67 after 14 days just sitting. So the good news is, for longer term sits the car must go into a deeper sleep than what I was first measuring. Once it has sat un-driven for a month or so, the draw must drop to nearly nothing as 12.67 is virtually a fully charged battery. If the draw had remained at even 40 Milliamps, it would have drawn it down more than that. So a battery in good condition, and a car stored in heated indoor storage, no alarm armed, appears to be able to sit for very l;ong periods of time without flattening the battery.
  15. Good point. I often can find an electronic version of the service manual, but there are cases when only article/video comments are found. I guess we can say that those should be taken "with a grain of salt". Thanks for your comments.
  16. When this light comes on, it’s important to get your vehicle inspected by a professional as soon as possible to prevent any potential damage. It’s hard to say exactly what the issue is without a proper diagnosis. Your Lexus dealer or a trusted mechanic should be able to read the specific error code from the OBD system and determine the exact cause of the problem. That being said, I should also advise you to check or have checked your battery. Sometimes a failing battery or even a cell with no visible liquid in it can cause very strange warning lights to illuminate.

Hello, Chris. Car & Driver's observed fuel economy was 23 mpg: 2024 Lexus TX Hybrid Review, Pricing, and Specs (caranddriver.com)
  18. Report this to NHTSA as a safety and security issue. Lexus not sharing all the info, campaign is no longer listed on the app. I think they are trying to stuff the digital key down our throats, glitchy and unsafe as it is. Its all about profit.......
  19. I have a 2024 NX350H and I haven't noticed undue pressure needed. It does have to be pressed a fair bit -- probably much more than what it takes for the brake lights. Have you done a distance measure of the brake pedal to see the difference between brake lights and shifting? I'll have to check mine.

  21. I am really interested in great car audio. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to set the treble, bass and midrange as well as how to balance the speakers to get the best sound from the driver's seat?
  22. Looks fantastic. You must have some fab chops 👏
