  1. Thanks for the advices, but I first must try the local pet store. Maybe they have something. Taking the cat "for a long ride" will scratch, even possibly make the cat *BLEEP* inside my car. *BLEEP*in on the neighbor's cars won't work, they leave their cars outside, cat's probably marked them, and they wouldn't care. No wonder my friend's cat was poisoned by their neighbor (I think they gave it milk mixed with coolant). It's a big PITA. :chairshot:
  2. Your call. Just have a thorough walk-through of the vehicle, and specify the damages, scratches, or dings (which I presume there's only one) so you would have leverage if more damages pop up. That's what I like about my Toyota dealer, they have a thorough walk-through around the vehicle so the dealer and customer are in good agreement That's probably one of the reasons why the dealer replaced my rim when they scratched it, because I noted the scratch right after the service, and they acknowledged it. :D
  3. I haven't searched this forum yet for answers to this question, so sorry if this is a re-post. I have a serious problem with my neighbor's cat. For about a year (which is about the time that cat was adopted) I've been smelling urine odors in my garage at certain times. At first I thought it might have been from the previous owner of the house, and the dog or cat marked their spots. Today, I found the culprit of it all, my neighbor's cat. While I was washing my 4Runner, I had my GX across the street. I saw the cat *BLEEP* on my rim! I scared him off, but when i was putting the GX back in the garage, the cat *BLEEP*sed on my 4Runner rim. Hearing experiences from my dad, the urine causes steel wheels to rust. That'll be the problem of my Odyssey. Now the 4Runner and GX are a different story. Does the urine cause any damage, rust, corrosion, or anything on alloy? And also, I don't know if the 4Runner's rim is alloy or what, but it looks kinda chromy, but it isn't real chrome. Will the urine cause any discoloration or anything to my 4Runner rim? I'm looking around for some solutions that may deter the cat away from my rims. Is there any chemical that I can spray on all my rims so the cat wouldn't urinate on them anymore???? Any suggestions will be helpful as this is a current major problem. Thanks.
  4. Not even, they get like 12 or 13 mpg i think (unless it's a Tahoe or they've both improved) Shopping spree, Black friday
  5. Funny, no one ever mentioned that Land Rovers (mainly Range Rovers) get that "prestige" comments, or is there a generation gap?? A typical teenage, high school girl's dream sweet 16 car (no not from the MTV Sweet 16 show), is a Range Rover (or Range rover Sport now, since it's cheaper). but anyways, Mercedes does have that prestige image. But I disagree that the luxury SUVs downgrades the luxury experience. I've gotten quite a lot of comments on my GX, even up to this point that there's a GX in every corner. I think maybe the color of the vehicle sometimes give the vehicle more or less attention.
  6. Don't rely on phone calls. They won't respond. Unless the message is "I want to buy a new car NOW, and I have cash" then maybe you will receive a call from them within seconds, but if it's a complaint call, they'll shrug it off as "I didn't receive a message". Sorry to say, but you do have to make that 1.5 hr trip to the dealer if you want your car fixed. :(
  7. A Gallon :cries: :cries:
  8. Your position is just going to get weaker and weaker as everyday passes. I had the same problem with my GX rim, but luckily one day I decided to talk to the service advisor manager and he got it repainted. Talk to the manager, usually they're your only best bet. But I suggest to everyone that issues like this should be taken cared of right after the servicing. I learned because the guys at Toyota scratched my rim (not in a graffiti way like they did to my GX) and my service advisor saw it. consulted the manager, and came out asking for the tire size! :D ;) But as I said, the manager's the best bet. I hope he's a reasonable, and customer friendly guy.
  9. I don't exactly know, but as someone mentioned, I presume a light should come on in your speedometer. There is no physical way to check for the KDSS. I've compared my 4Runner and GX, the undercarriage looks almost identical, and my 4Runner is just a 2wd! I think there's an extra pipe or something for the air suspension but otherwise they look the same. Then someone asked in the 4Runner forum if the car (they were buying a used one too) they were looking at had X-REAS suspension, and the picture looked the same as mine w/o X-REAS.
  10. I'm curious as to who the other Sand Dollar Pearl owner is?? :whistles: Very rare, and I never knew there was a member here with that color also! ;) :D
  11. oh yea. If you don't start those suckers up, the batteries really go. My CRV in the Philippines, bought new in Nov 97 w/86 kilometers, currently at about 10,500 kilometers, been through 2 batteries and a new set of tires. The LS460's design is subtle, not too flashy or loud. If the design is like the H2s or something kinda radical (even the FJ Cruiser which I kinda like) you start to grow tired of them right away. That's what I liked even in the LS430s is that they had a subtle design that I would still look at even 10 yrs down the road. Now the "maybach" looking S class wasn't one of the design I like, sorry to say. But I would buy an S class if I wanted to resemble a Maybach, which costs $100k more than a loaded S600.
  12. I'm really not sure what my screen name stands for. Denslexusgx470 Anyone help me figure it out? lol. :D ;)
  13. No changes were made. Go ahead and buy it if you find a bra for an 03-05. ;)
  14. Bick Montana, First of all, welcome to the club. I'm not really familiar with the 99 LX, but I will say that it probably requires premium unleaded. Now folks, correct me if I'm wrong but please be mature and keep this topic problem free w/o any arguments against the different grades of gas as I don't want this to turn into one of those gas/oil debates that get really nasty. Thank you

  16. I have a really big gut feeling it will be according to this.... http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=25692 I'm hoping they'll produce a 5.7L engine in Japan for the GX and LX.
  17. Well I did forget to mention that I have noticed that there seems to be a "lack of quality" in the Canada built RXs. The interior fit and finish, seems to have been downgraded. Hope that's not the case in all of them, I'm not saying that the Canadians suck at making cars, or don't know how to, but I still like mine from Japan because so far they haven't really let me down yet. ;)
  18. Some, if not, all new RXs, are being manufactured in Canada now. A lot of the loaners I get are from Canada now.
  19. No offense, but I still prefer my Toyota/Lexus from Japan. :) I'm beginning to wonder if the new GX/LX/4R's 5.7L engine (like the available one in the new Tundra) are all going to be made in Alabama??
  20. I take that back. Kudos to my dealership. My dad had a little talk with them, results?? They're gonna claim it under warranty! OMG! They know I'm about 1.5 months after warranty, but they did ask the mileage, and since it's about 49,600 they approved to change it within warranty. :) :D :snoooorrrtttt:
  21. Imagine the insurance on one of those. I read in a magazine once, insurance on those kind of cars could cost anywhere between $8,000-$23,000 a year, sometimes with mileage restrictions too. Besides, spending what, was it $1 mil, on a car that only has a warranty as long as my 4Runner isn't worth it, IMHO. ;) Oh yea, it does seem like it could run slightly faster than my 4cyl 4 speed, 140 hp I-4 Ody. :whistles:
