  1. ok so here's my horrible story. I devised this plan because I wanted to be a little fancy this time. I know a lot of you might think that's it's an idiotic story, but I think it was kinda cute, and she thought it was kinda cute.:whistles: I don't know how I thought about this, but I planned on this. I was going to get some flowers, a box of candy, and a sign on the flowers with "prom?" on it. Simple, right? Then I was going to get the Dean of Discipline at my high school to give me and the girl a detention slip each. Then when both of us are called out of class, the Dean would mention that "You (me) have been suspected of carrying drugs on campus. I need to check your (my 4Runner) car as a school measure and you (the girl) have been told by an annonymous person that you are part of this". Now that would stir her up, right? But here's the next part... So all three of us (me, the girl, and the Dean) would walk out to my car. The dean (or maybe me) would unlock the car, and I'd roll down the rear window (this is how I thought of including the car cuz of that roll down window!). Then me and the dean would look inside, and he's say "Come here and please explain to me what is this?" Then the girl would go to the back, and to her surprise, there would be the stuffs I would give her! I think it's somewhat a great idea, because the whole "being in trouble" part would definitely throw off her mind! I missed it by a couple hours though. AT first, i planned on just asking her and give her the stuffs later on. Apparently, at about 2pm, I asked her if she still wanted to go. She said that she didn't quite feel like it. WHAT? So I knew I still had time to ask her. Apparently, the place we went to with her friends, another guy (not even from my school!) asked her! Then later that night, about 6pm, my best friend was forced to going, and I promised him that if he goes, then I will definitely ask the girl. Well that's when i made that emergency text to her, and she mentions that someone already asked her! :cries::cries::cries::cries: But it's ok. She knows, and she said that w/o a doubt, even w/o this whole show, she would have gone with me.But she really really thought it was a genius, and cute idea. I was just talking to one of her friends on myspace, and I asked her if she had mentioned about me and my plan, and her friend said "yes she thought it was really cute but is sad to say that she couldn't go with you (me)". Then yesterday, we both went out for lunch together with one of her friends. On the freeway back to school, I over took another classmate of mine, and she wanted to wave to him so i lowered the rear window (cuz they can't see thru the tint) and she waved out. She mentions that "Oh if Denny (my name lol) was quick enough before the other guy asked me, that window was suppose to be part of the plan he devised for asking me" and I almost cried just to listen to that, because she really liked the idea, wanted to go with me, but just didnt want to be rude to the other guy by flaking out on him. :chairshot::chairshot::chairshot: Oh yea, and I never mentioned that I've only really known and been friends with her for about 3 weeks now. lol. Let's just say it was a quick "construction" for the building of the friendship. Usually people take time to establish a good friendship, but this one took, literally only one day! This all started really after taking a placement test for college, and she was in the same room i was in. Then after the test I decided to take her for lunch or something. Then (she doesnt drive yet cuz her parents wont let her, so she has to wait till 18 to get her license) I drove her home, and what really made me feel different about this friendship is that she introduced me to her family, and showed me around her house! Now I don't know how some of you lucky couples started out, but I don't think the first time you guys ever met, or went on a date, ever went INSIDE their house, meet their family, and get a thorough walk-through of the house, now did you??
  2. Well if Lexus decides to make the new GX more rounded and well-defined, it wouldn't look like an off-road machine. It would turn out to be, like G man said, another RX that looks like a crossover FX35!
  3. You never really know until you try it. I have to admit, I like the performance of the Volvo S40 T5 (turbo) because i've driven my friend's volvo several times. It's really quick, nimble, and handy to drive around. The bad side though of it is that it's so small. The Azera may not look too nice in design, but if you think the quality and performance is worth the $14,000 as SW mentioned, then it's worth $14,000. Hyundai didn't put a price tag of $30,000 like a nicely equipped Camry because they know that their vehicles quality, design, and performance is only at about that level. ;)
  4. I think he either wants to special order a LS600HL or a new LX570 in advance before it debuts, so he'll be famous and be looked at. :whistles: :whistles: :whistles: :P :P :P
  5. This is a friendly reminder that if anyone posts any new info or anything regarding the new LX570, please post it in the brand new subforum that we just created. Thank You Denny (Denslexusgx470)

  6. Very true. Some RX units are still made in Japan, but I think the hybrids are definitely still made in Japan. I am very picky on where my car is built. You all know that I was in the car buying process last year, right? Well since we were kinda forcing another car into the family, with just a small extra budget, so that's why the decisions with the Sienna, Pilot, 4Runner, CRV, Odyssey, and Highlander aren't the best choices. Not all of them are made in Japan. Luckily the decision went with the 4Runner, so all my vehicles are made in Japan! All japanese, 4-6-8 vehicles 4 (4cylinder Ody) 6 (6cylinder 4Runner) and 8 (8cylinder GX470). :P :P :P :P :P
  7. You should still be within warranty if you have less than 50k miles, or you've extended it. Yours should be up in 2008. ;)
  8. I THINK there is this one guy in the 4Runner forums, that got his special order 4Runner ASAP, even with the weird color combo, options, etc. because his wife has connections inside Toyota Motor Corp. But Idk if i can find him, or moreso how high in connections his wife has.
  9. Ok I have this urge of taking my baby offroad, but without the dust and mud. Not possible I know, but at least I had a little guts to drive it on some whimpy offroad dirt. I drove really really slowly but still got some fair amount of dust on it. Anyways here are some shots (I'm a horrible photographer I know)
  10. Oh boy, first time I've ever reached this milestone in a Lexus. Still running great and hopefully it'll reach at least 100k miles!
  11. I just saw a commercial of the Azera and LS460 being compared. I just think that Hyundai had a hard time comparing the two. At first I thought it was an insult to compare the two, like apples and oranges, but then I realized that they can't beat the quality and luxury standards of a Lexus. They couldn't compete against the self-park, so they added the valet parking in the end. Then again, as much as possible, I try to avoid valet parking even if it means I will walk a mile away! lol. :D :D
  12. Yes me too. I know, for whatever the cost is, as long as the dealer does the job and does good, the clunk will never return. I feel sorry for the V8 4wd 4Runner owners. They never had a chance at this TSB. :chairshot:
  13. Thanks. Tell me about it, I almost thought my baby (4Runner) would get it's first taste of rain for it's undercarriage, but luckily I made it home! ^_^
  14. I think you might get more feedback in this forum. ;)
  15. Glad to hear that she's safe, and my prayers go to the victims and those injured. :(
  16. You can't really blame people for what they feel. This tragedy is very fresh, just like when 9/11 happened. No one just put it behind them after a day or two, but up to now we still have it in our minds, and still wonder "Why"? :cries::cries::cries:
  17. Insurance :chairshot: :chairshot: :chairshot:
  18. The problem is that classes weren't cancelled after they heard about the first shooting in the dorms. Heck, if that were to happen in the college I go to, I would definitely not go to class knowing that there's a gunman on campus.
  19. I don't quite remember, but i think they're gonna run you about $300 a pair. I remember before my warranty was up, i had my warped rotors checked, and they charged me $300 for the rear (geez, it ate up the rear that fast, within 50k miles) but replaced my front pads, and resurfaced all rotors for the price of the $300. They replaced the front ones free because i only had those replaced like 10k miles before (at about 40k miles) so they think it might be their problem.
  20. It's normal. It's the reflection of the covering of the needle on the chrome gauges. I like it very much and I've gotten a lot of compliments about that when I let people drive my GX.
  21. nope, this time I was at the Ocean State Grand National Karate Championships kicking some butt. But thanks for thinking of me. steviej Close enough. I bet the trophies and the idea that you beat the competition is better than Disneyworld! lol.
  22. Hey. If I were you, I would stick with Toyota. Lexus vehicles are a little more expensive than your price range (for now, but eventually you'll get to a Lexus. ), but a comparable Toyota would make you feel like you own a Lexus. A 2005 Avalon isn't too bad. What's the mileage and price?
