  1. Just a follow up I ended up getting a 2005 Avalon Limited. with every imaginable option including remote start and satalte radio. I LOVE THE CAR. Totally awsome. A lot of car for the Money. I paid 26K. The car has 11K miles on it. The laser cruise is so cool.
  2. Hi, I may start to look for this car. What kind of equipment do the most loaded of these cars have? Meaning what are the toys I can get in it and look for. Does it have things like rain sensing wipers, on board computers etc? What else shoudl I look for when trying to purchase this car? Also, How is the navigation system in this car?
  3. THE CATCH!!!! There is a balloon payment at the end!!!
  4. Check out this web site... http://www.benzforless.com/ Then click on the lexus section. Do you see these deals??? a 2004 LS 430 wih $3,000 K down 60 months for $380 a month. I need to find out the catch otherwise this site has incredible deals!!!
  5. Hi Guys, Man am I fickle. I have been looking around the internet for a car for some time now. I am not going to get it until about Jan or Feb as my current SAAB lease is not due until March. Originally I started my search looking at an ES 330. I liked the car a lot but it lacked some of the newer modern electronics and I am one of the electronic geeks. I like my toys. So then, I decided I would look at an AVALON Limited. It had a lot more stuff then the lex. Automatic wipers, touchless and keyless entry, a/c seats, auto sun shade etc etc. The list really does go on and on and that car is awsome except I was only going to consider the limited model. I soon found out that the limited inventory is somewhat scarce, and the ones that I found were like $29,000. So then my next quest was for a brand new Altima 4 cylinder, loaded with all the options including bluetooth nav, rear back up camera, start button ignition, etc. Nice car also but WOW the thing is expensive. $28 to $29k. In my travels I also looked at Camry, Lexus GS series, and even the ES series, as well as maximas, and some infinities. I may change my mind again but right now it seem as if the lex es 330 is my best buy. I am thinking I can get a loaded es 330 with navigation and about $45,000 miles for about $20,000 for a 2004 model. You agree??? I figure compared with the Nissan- The lexus us $9,000 cheaper, bigger engine = more pickup, probably better reliability. Downside- much less toys. but hey $9k is $9k. In addition, I could be wrong but there is something to be said for driving a Lexus vs a Nissan, even if the Lexus is a few years old. Thoughts??? P.S. I could change my mind again before I am ready to push the button on this.
  6. My brother has a GX470 that is just coming off lease. It is loaded with GPS. and dual screen DVD players in the rear seats. Car is in mint condition and has like 35,000 miles on it. To buy the lease out is $29.000. I can't afford to keep the car and certainly don't want to pay for the gas ( I think I am going to get an used es330). My question is should I buy the car from Lexus and turn around and sell it for a profit? What do you think I can get for it?
  7. Anyone know if there is an aftermarket GPS for the es330. One that will really boost the technology in the car to have good bluetooth, sirrius etc? Will it fit good? where to get it?
  8. ALL ES330s have auto headlights, and the ES has pretty much every bell and whistle the Avalon has... Really???? It looked somewhat spartan to me... Does it have rain sensing wipers?
  9. I too will look at the MAZDA. The is seems too small. I need a family size car i.e. Camry, altima etc.
  10. I am still looking around a lot. I decided my budget will be $25K. In the time I originally posted this question, my bosses 2001 audi a6 needed $3,500 worth of work. THe car had 60,000 miles on it. Now I realize this is not a lexus but I am sure easily that can happen. I was leaning to the avalon limited for a while and I still somewhat am. It is disappointing to learn that the avalon does not have bluetooth. I looked at a bunch of es330's but quite honestly, I was disappointed in the equipment that these cars have. Little things surprised me like no auto headlights.... And the car just seems to not have that many bells and whistles which I really want. So.... having said that latley I have been looking at a new loaded Nissan Altima. THey are fairly inexpensive and seem to come loaded. DECISIONS DECISIONS....... My mind will probably change 100 times between now and March when my SAAB 9-3 lease is up.
  11. Thank you for your response. My big issue now is finding an avalon for my price. I really do not want anything but the limited. They seem to be out there but more like in the 29K price range. Or, I have seen others but they are far out of state and not sure how I feel about buying an auto site unseen and through ebay motors.
  12. Hi, I am fairly mew here. I would like some buying advice. Let me give you a little background first. Currently I have a 2005 SAAB 9-3 which goes back in March. I am sick of leasing cars so I now want to purchase one. With all of the research I have done I hear that the best cars to buy are Toyotas (lexus). My current SAAB is way to small. In addition, I like the comfort of a larger comfortable car. I LOVE TOYS AND GADGETS. So my next car I want a navigation system built in. I basically want all of the options, whichever car I get. I have a family of 5 and occasionally I would like to take my new/ used car on a trip instead of the big family SUV we have. So, I want something very safe and reliable. my budget for a new / used car is $25,000. So first i looked at the ES 300 / 330. I found out I can get one for between 20k and 25k. This seemed good. Then in doing research, I learned more about the Avalon limited. was looking at a 2005 or 2006. This car has great toys such as heated / cooled seats, great stereo, LASER CRUISE CONTROL etc. I also read that it actually is a little larger and has a better ride and comfort then the Lex ES series. In addition it comes loaded with more stuff. The other benefit I have found and this is one of the questions I wanted to ask here is, I have heard that repairs are less on a toyota then a lex- simply because one is a toyota and one is a LEX... Is this true? So with the info I learned I set my course on the Avalon limited. As i did shopping I found that there are not a lot of limited edition cars out there. In addition, even less 2005 models which means I would go with a 2006. THe prices I have found were about $27K to 29K. WAY over my budget. So now I am thinking of possible LEX again. I have seen LS 430's on ebay for the same price as the Avalon limited. I have seen ES 300's for about 20K. And of course the GS is out there too. Now I am not sure what to do? ES- GS- LS- AVALON- I guess the LS is probably the most awesome out of the bunch and can probably get a 2003 for about 28K wiith about 50K miles. Just wondering if I did something like that id my expenses of owing this car are much greater. THen of course there is the 8 cyl gas millage vs the avalon which does great on gas. I guess i am babbling a bit but hoping to start some dialog wiht the people on these boards who know a lot about this stuff. Please give me your thoughts, feedback and advice Thank you.
  13. could it be a cracked engine block? Is the fluid milky? Possibly mixing with the oil?
  14. I agree and understand the lexus quality. But a computer can go on the LS or the Tranny. Isn't that huge bucks?
  15. Tough call on the car... I hvae a friend who I work with that has a 1990 Jaguar XKS 12 cylander. 67,000 miles. I know you can't compare the quality of a jag to the quality of a lexus. But... He was having a problem with his power steering... broght it to a friend- to fix using genuine jag parts $2,000 or aftermarket $1,600. So then he fixes it and let's say the fuel pump goes??? or the water pump.... So you say welll, can't dump the car because I just put 2k into it, so he puts another G into it. and so on and so on and so on. As I said you can't compare the lexus quality to the Jag but similar things can happen with an older car.
