  1. Heres an PDF file on checking the 02 sensor hope this helps you out. B) o2sensor_check.pdf
  2. Thanks for the info, I thought about replacing O2 sensors but they are pricey. Should I do the front one first, being it is easier to get to? Anyone ever try cleaning the O2 sensors? Can it be done? I would reset the code and drive it. why put more money into it until you know that part needs replacing. You can test the o2 sensors and see if they are working. good luck.
  3. Yes the oil pan can be romoved without the engine having to be removed. The bolts I believe are 10MM about 12 or more. I have a PDF file on the engine if you need it, which sounds like you might. Just Pm me and I'll get it to you. Good luck

  9. Yep, checking witth the engine up and running. I dont totally understand 3 to 3 1/4 out of the drain, when I pull the pan it had around 1/4 more and filter 1/4 to 1/2 qt ,more and the transfer case around 1 qt. I'll drive it for a little more and check it again
  10. Thanks Barry, that was my thought also.
  11. Ok Heres my solution, 1999 Rx 300 with 151K I did my transmission fluid change, Transfer case and installed a new filter, job easy. 4 1/2 qts came out. Put when I was refilling at 3 qts it was above the cold line???? Started the car and went though the gears, check it, drove the car about 10 mins, check it again, move up alittle not much. So here my $1000.00 question, should I repalce the 4.5 qts that came out????? Thanks
  12. Jeff: I have 235P65R16 on my 99' RX300. You would not have any problem with the rear struts. I brought GoodYear Fortera Triple Tred. It cost me around $600 back then from Discounted Tires. Now, it's around $800-900. The wider tires actually give the car a lot better traction. SHKID Thanks for the info. Im looking into getting the toyo Versado.
  13. Hi everyone, for the last couple of days I have noticed that the temperture gauge is runnung up to the second line on the gauge, usually reads sightly under the first one, just wondering if this is a sign the thermostat is going???? Thanks for your help on this. All fulid levels are good Thanks Jeff
  14. Looking to buy a new set of tires for my 1999 RX300. I was wondering if an 235/65/16 would work, or will they rub on the rear strut. I believe they are the same ratios as the 225/70/16. Thanks for your time on this. Thanks Jeff :D
  15. Looks like the document Jeff was trying to upload didn't show up. Maybe this will work. Bank one sensor 2 is located between the muffler and the cat converter. To test the sensor, you must remove the drivers seat to get to the wire harness connection. Good luck! Thanks Joe for having my back. Jeff
  16. Heres a pdf file that might help you with you search. The sensors are located onne on the front exhaust, the other is on the back side by the firewall on the exhaust, third one under the drivers seat on the cat. hope this helps you out. ifyou didnt get the file pm and ill email to you. Jeff :)
  17. First congrats, Three little ones change your world. Three seats fitted in my RX300. Put the booster in the middle, get ready dont touch me, thats mine. Jeff

  19. TMR- What does $13k in Canadian convert to in USD? That seems like a ton to much money to me for an '00 RX, even though it won't be that much in USD. I have to say, every time I drive my DIL's to work on it, I am not impressed for a car (truck?) that ran right at $40k (maybe more) new. They bought it at a Toyota wholesale auction as a lease return 2& 1/2 yrs old with 32k mi for $26k. It is not the worlds most quiet or smooth car for that kind of money. My wife's Toyota Camry ('02) at 7 &1/2 yrs old is still a dream to drive and you can virtually whisper in it at 80MPH and be heard. (we drove 900+ mi. home in one day from northern Oregon to So. Cal. because it didn't beat you up in the process). I'm not sure the RX (being technically a truck) was ever like that. I'm sure that I could find something that would please me (even in an SUV) more than that for that much money, but that's only one mans opinion. Good luck! Supply and demand. Where I live, 2002 RX300s go for 20k. Everything just costs more. 13k CAN is about 11k US. It just had a timing belt and new brakes installed, about 3k in receipts from 2 months ago. I own a 1999 rx300 with 147,000 miles. I have had no problems with the transmission, no oil problems, I change my oil every 3000 miles. It gets about 300 miles to the tank, and thats 90% city driving, not bad for a 10 year car. I say if you treat it nice it will take care of you. I say GO FOR IT.
  20. Thanks PK I just check the items you suggested. The coolant looks good, No signs of oil. I mark the res tank yesterday And just checked it, I only drove 15 miles today. The engine is cool and its at the same mark, right at the top of the Denso logo. The oil looks good too. should I go ahead and drain and replace the oil? If you have any other ideas Im all ears. Thanks again for the reply Jeff
  21. Hello, I have read the threads on the white smoke issues. Heres some data on the RX 143,000 miles runs great, mileage is good around 18 mpg in the city. About a month ago just replace both o2 sensors, I change the oil every 3000 miles, just did it on Wednesday of this week, In 3000 miles I consumed aboout 1/2 to 3/4 qt of oil, not to bad for a 1999 with 143k on it. But when I start out yesterday I got about 5 seconds of a very light white smoke, and a little gas smell to. I have read it might be the ECM??? I know the first thing to done is ask for help :) I check the pvc valve and gets good, air goes though it and it makes a little rattle noise. So where do I start looking or do. Do I put some injector cleaner in. I hope you guys will help me out on this problem. Thanks again Jeff
  22. If you have an ohnmeter you can test them. here is a file to shoow you how. good luck hope this helps your searcho2sensor_check.pdf

Thank you Blueridge Thats way I cracked the manifold, the wrong part was in there. I pulled the bottom one and that one was the one with part # 89467-48011. The sensor just didnt want to move Top one. thanks for your time
  25. Hello, I have a question to ask. I pull out the front oxygen sensor and it has Denso part # 480467-48010, than I pull out the next one and it has Denso Part # 89467-48011, Are these two different Parts I thought the two manifold oxygen sensors were the same part. Lexus # 234-9009. By the way 1999 RX300. Thanks for your help on this. Thanks Jeff :D
