  1. I took the RX300 into the dealer today (sad), they just called saying it's not the transmission, engine, drive train or exhaust. They really didn't have much to say, i mentioned i didn't replace the front engine strut or the transmission mount, so maybe it's that? Hopefully they'll try pulling it off then see if it goes away. One things for sure, they're going to charge me a lot of money, this I know. If this doesn't fix it, then i'm going to turn the idle up 125 rpm and sell that damn thing, back to Honda is it. Dave
  2. I've read a few posts on this issue, but I have yet to read anyone finding a solution. My 2000 RX300 with 175,000KMS has this issue. I recently replaced the 2 main engine mounts along with the upper torque mount - this only seemed to make the vibration worse. Here's a list of theories: 1. Engine strut 2. TPS sensor giving incorrect information to the transmission, this puts it in "high pressure mode" when stopped in gear. 3. Exhaust leak 4. Bad transmission? If anyone has had any luck repairing this issue, please share. I am tempted to cut my losses and trade this thing in on a Honda Pilot of Acura MDX, i've only owned this vehicle 6 months and so far I'm not impressed!
  3. I just changed my motor mounts, and I swear its almost made the vibration/low tone worse. It also could be because it's summer and the a/c is always on. Do you know what gasket they changed? I've only owned the rx300 for 6 months, so far i'm not impressed. My 1996 Acura 3.2TL is whisper quiet at idle, this thing is so loud I don't even want to drive it.
  4. Hello, After completing this repair, we notice it is very noisy going down, particulary the last 6 inches. I did notice the new antenna mast had a very long nylon "cord" compaired to the factory one. Should I remove it and cut it down a little? Thanks, Dave
  5. Thank you code58, I never thought to connect to actuator to the actuator manual lock linkage. How did you flattent the rod without losing any structual integrity? I'm going to try bending the rod end into a circle, we'll see.
  6. Here is a better photo of where I wanted to connect the arm, the plastic piece shown in the red box is whatis broken off on mine. Just a piece is chipped off, where there was a hole.
  7. I'm referring to the tab shown in this photo. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...ost&id=7594 Do you by any chance have a photo of where you attached the arm?
  8. Just completed this repair, great instructions - completed in 1 hour
  9. Hello, I just tried to "$15 door actuator repair" my front passenger door. The plastic tab where you can connect the actuator arm is broken off; basically, theres nothing to connect to. Does anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone know where to get a new one for cheap? or if I could buy a broken one to use for the aftermarket actuator? Thanks, Dave
  10. I would suggest next time only replacing one mount at a time, supporting the engine in place with a jack.
  11. I have the same problem. Its the engine mounts The front one is charged with hydrolic fluid ($$). Im not sure which one is bad, so I'm changing both. I found an aftermarket supplier, 200US for both. Its a 1.3 hr job at the shop, not sure if its worth doing myself, we"ll see. I'll confirm if this fixed the problem after replacing.
  12. I've read that the 99-00 RX300 transmissions have a smaller then needed ATF pump, and that the 01-03's received a larger pump. Has anyone tried to install a 01-03 atf pump in a 99-00? Is the pump difficult to replace(internal)?
  13. I'd pass on the 300. The tranny just doesn't seem worth the risk... In regards to the lack of selection in your area, I'd recommend expanding your search to the Vancouver mainland, as there are many for sale here, might be worth the ferry ride... Don't know your budget but, sometimes you can even get a pretty decent price on a first generation RX330 (low 20's, I've even seen a high milage one for $18) All those craigslist adds were in Vancouver, there is only 1 only Vancouver Island for sale. Im having a transmission shop drop the pan and doing a full inspection to make sure it's in good shape. The cheapest 330 I've seen is still 25k.
  14. We only put on 10,000kms a year. I figure we'll keep it 4-5 years. Im taking it to get inspected on Saturday, then to the transmission shop for a full tranny inspection.
