  1. Found it Another method - while depressing the "info" button, turn the parking lights on/off 3 times
  2. For those who have the same problem. If the auto wiper does work in principle, but the sensitivity knob cannot adjust the sensitivity. Which means that the rain sensor itself works, only the sensitivity cannot be changed. From my research, the problem must be in the tape between the windshield and the rain sensor. When not being attached properly (or when being even slightly detached e.g. due to improper installation originally), it leads to unavailability to adjust the sensitivity. I've ordered a replacement part and will try it over my May holidays. I will report.
  3. Maybe even a better start is to check the fuses (consult your owner's manual for the appropriate fuses to check)
  4. Probably the best windshields, floor mats etc. I've seen are from Weathertech. You can look up for your car on their website but make sure you feel yourself comfortable to do the installation as per the video manual here. I've bought these for my LX and am planning to put them on next week. I'll write here if any practical tips that I could offer.
  5. http://www.trakplus.com/application It doesn't seem that they offer this for LX I am not sure I understand why you'd want to do this with a truck. You may consider 22' wheel disks instead. Or if you're still looking for wheel spacers, you can try a different brand which would support LX
  6. Or, I though you were buying some aftermarket parts for 2011 LX which look alike 2013 LX. Are you saying that you are buying 2013 OEM parts and put them on 2011 LX? From what I heard, they are not cross-compatible e.g. can you explain in more detail how you managed to put the 2013 front bumper on a 2011 car? From what I heard, they are different designs i.e. you cannot simply remove the old bumper and grill as the 2013 ones won't fit... VERY surprised... Anyway, please keep on and post pictures! Like it! (OEM parts are expensive, I wonder which cost saving you'd get in the end, comparing to buying 2013 LX straight away)
  7. nice so far, but which particular parts are you using or where are you buying from?
  8. Beware that if you put LEDs for high beams as you'll lose running lights. Good luck and pls post pics before/after. I had no experience with LEDs so it would be interesting to understand it better (am using xenon for low beams and left high beams/running lights bulbs untouched)
  9. Which retrofit exactly are you talking about? Post links to the parts you bought and post pictures, too!
  10. Apologies for being unclear. I mean replace the battery in your wireless "key" for the car (the thing which you carry in the pocket in order to start the car -- this stuff is called the "transponder") That's the most common reason for it's losing signal with the car - unless you've recently installed any extra security system
  11. Pls post links to what you found in ebay for an informed view
  12. Hadyourphil, you are right. Am not an expert in oil and cannot give you an informed view on the details you are seeking for. But if you google for it, I am sure you'll find a lot. From all my experience, the simple rules for oil are never to mix different types of oil (in this case, mineral/synthetic/semisymthetic) and even not mix the old and the new same type of oil (=no "adding" instead of replacing, only a full replace, even with some extra capacity for washing out the old oil as fully as possible) and even further, withing the same type of oil, dont mix different brands. These come as very basic advice I always got from all the mechanics (with no exception) in my life. But if there are oil experts in here (which is simply a too narrow subject and I doub't there are any), I'd certain look for their expert/scientifically justified advice... To stress, I never heard that any oil mixing might have a neutral effect
  13. Just got across this procedure in the LX service manual, you may give it a try on your car (as your high ODO readings might be caused by a prev owner having replaced the relevant ECU not having followed the procedure): 4. INITIALIZATION RELATED TO DISTANCE CONTROL ECU NOTICE: After removing and installing or replacing the distance control ECU, be sure to perform the following procedures. (a) INITIALIZE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU (1) Turn the engine switch on (IG). (2) Turn the cruise control main switch on. (3) Depress the brake pedal (brake switch on). (4) With the brake pedal depressed, push the cruise control main switch to +RES 3 times within 3 seconds, and check that the buzzer sounds. NOTICE: At this time, do not turn the headlight dimmer switch on. Due to the activation of the beam axis automatic adjustment mode, turning the headlight dimmer switch on may result in an incorrect setting. If the headlight dimmer switch is turned on by mistake, perform the beam axis adjustment again

  15. the structure of synthetic and mineral oil is different - you use either of these but don't mix the two
  16. A cheap OBD tool would only mirror what you see on the odometer display. You better try isolating the problem by disconnecting the positive battery terminal for 20 secs and connecting it again and then driving between point A and B and comparing your odometer reading with someone else. If any issues, visit the dealer. Unauthorised adjustment of the odometer is, as far as I know, illegal in your country (and unless done by professionals, it leaves traces of intrusion to the system). If your odometer indeed runs too fast, best to have it fixed by a dealer - otherwise you may run into troubles when (not)passing a next emission inspection or if a faulty odometer is identified when selling your car

  18. Try replacing the battery in the transponder
  19. Indeed, I've been to the official parts catalogue for my previous GX470 2005 and they dont offer just the screen, only the whole unit. Unless you can find it from someone in this forum, you may need to search e.g. on eBay for an aftermarket replacement screen
  20. SRK, if you have 2 identical washer motors (like on GX - 1 for windshield, 1 for rear window), you can switch them to isolate the problem. Otherwise if you excluded leaks/blockages in the line and the fuses are fine, your trouble must indeed be smth related to the wires/connectors as your originally flagged. That's what the LX repair manual says for inspecting the washer motor. You may need to check the repair manual for your car to see where to connect + an - to the motor.

  22. There were a few discussions in this forum on the lights subject. Use the search in the LX/GX/general topics first. As a quick summary, probably the brightest alternative is the xenon light; the second alternative is halogen bulbs of a better brightness than the stock bulbs (on these, you'd have to balance between the brightness and the useful life of the replacement halogen). You may want to care for any alternative to be street approved in your country.
  23. Any error codes? Did you replace with OEM or aftermarket pumps? What's the temp in your place, any snow/ice on the windshield/headlights during the trials? Not sure what you mean by saying " all flow the same, just no pressure". From the literal meaning I can assume (1) no pressure on the nozzles (you can try to replace the nozzles, despite your prior cleaning efforts, these are rather fragile parts) or (2) a leak in the line (which would be smth out of the blue to me, never heard of this before; anyway, this should be very visible on detaching the side boards/other coating along the lines).
  24. I have the same year truck. Feel free to ask if you can't find answers
