  1. Another e-mail just sent... :whistles:
  2. I agree, if there is any paint work done then don't accept it. Actually, i would never accept it. It's been tainted!
  3. I don't think there would be much of a market for an ES-F... Maybe for the GS though :whistles:
  4. my God! That sounds horrible... "will automatically be corrected in approximately five seconds by the VGRS system as the vehicle is driven. The driver may notice the system auto correcting as the steering wheel slowly moves to the center position while driving straight during the VGRS correction". That's just... odd.
  5. The SC failed because it didn't appeal to any "particular" audience very well. It needed to be sportier looking, faster, and/ or cheaper. Unlike the previous generation SC's, the 01-10 SC430 was too feminine looking, and lacked any sports appeal. Personally i think the SC is a "sexy" looking car, but maybe a little "too" sexy for the majority of the sports car market. I think it's the perfect ride for the middle aged crowd that wants to appeal more "hip"- but there aren't many of these buyers... If Lexus came out with a new generation SC, with a completely new design that's faster and more masculine, separating itself from the previously failing generation, they'd be better sellers- oh wait! Lexus did- with the IS-C <_<
  6. If you can have one developed SPECIFICALLY for that car, getting confirmation that it will work- then i say go for it. But as far as i know... it's never been done before on an RX due to computer issues canceling out any of these devices.
  7. can you post a pic? You may be able to buy a replacement.
  8. You can buy the screens on ebay for <$50 if it's bad.
  9. You are correct, the standard audio system in the Rx400h is HORRIBLE. The standard system in my old Rx300 was a million times better. If i could do it again, i'd try to get the ML system in the Rx400h, although i've never heard the difference. I wouldn't worry about any Rx400h's with a trailer hitch unless it was used heavily. Some of the Rx400h's came factory with some type of extra tranny cooler with the "tow prep package". I know mine has it.
  10. i don't like that light It's a nice feature, but it's annoying. It's accuracy is like the old fashioned gas tanks with a float
  11. check transmission fluid, make sure it's bright pink and doesn't smell burned. FWD models will have a "TRAC OFF" button under the heated seat buttons on the center console (next to the cig lighter) and the AWD models will not have any switch in that location, just a blank panel. Or... you could look under the car for a rear drive shaft. Just to make sure, the RX you want to buy is the 99-03 generation, correct? In other countries the US 04-09 generation was released as a 2003 model and earlier... is your avatar image of the one you want to buy? Because that image is of the newer generation, not the US rx300...
  12. I've never owned one, but personally i think the 01-05 GS430 series is one of the best looking they've ever produced. <_<
  13. He's still claiming he can't find a better radio. I've emailed him 2x a week, and i can tell by his responses (with all the exclamation points) that i am getting annoying. BUT... i'll keep annoying him until he finds one. I fear if i start making more of a scene that he'll tell me to go screw... so i'm trying to be "enforcing" yet still calm for the moment...
  14. I recently created a thread in this section of the forum asking about the reliability of the CVT transmissions, and all of the responses were positive. I've researched the "design" of the transmission, and it doesn't seem like there's a lot of stress on it. I also haven't heard of a single complaint about the transmission on the Rx400h, which is a good sign. I love my Rx400h. I got mine used about a year ago (in 9 days it'll be a year) from a little dealer near by. I haven't had any "problems" with it, just a few issues getting some TSB work done... Have you looked at any Rx400h's in person yet? There were a few changes made for the 2007 year, many upgrades including the navigation screen resolution, and interior wood trim replacing the 06's brushed aluminum trim. In 2008 even more changes were made, including blue tinted headlights and taillights, and blue accented emblems- just cosmetic things. Most (if not all) Rx400h's (and Rx350's) have a known defect of blowing out a white powder through the AC vents, due to a poorly designed evaporator core that flakes as it ages. There is a TSB (or recall) for the fix, and it's covered for free. I had the fix completed this past March, but when i got the car back from the dealer they had scratched my radio, nav screen, nav unit and some vinyl and wood pieces... It was a hassle but i got them to replace the parts. I think the Rx400h is a very reliable and wonderful car (well, SUV). It's built VERY well and the fit and finish is pretty amazing. It's a little more powerful than the standard Rx350, actually the Rx400h is the fastest SUV Lexus has ever made, even faster than the 010 Rx350 or Rx450h! Just don't buy the Rx400h if you think you're going to save on gas, because the gain is pretty slim. I think the Rx400h is more of a performance hybrid... well sort of. It seems like Lexus had a hard time figuring that one out.
  15. NO NO NO! Never use anything on the nav screen. The nav screen surface has a matte (dull) finish, if you go over it with any compound or "clay" it will make the screen shiny, and you DON'T want that. Try using a damp cotton cloth, but nothing more...
  16. do a search, this is a very common problem.
  17. is this only for FWD models?
  18. i love the rain sensing wipers... LOVE them! and the turning headlights are pretty cool too... i'd keep searching <_<
  19. I get my cabin air filters from ebay, one brand "TYC" or something like that, they're the same thing as OEM and work GREAT!
  20. Oh awesome! Hope everything turns out great. Can your body shop get your wife into a rental for the time being? I know there's a law that states your insurance co MUST pay for a rental if you ask for one...
  21. no problem, glad i could help!
  22. SW, that's horrible! Glad to hear no one was hurt. I guess it all depends on your insurance company whether you decide to file a claim, i know with my family's company they're REALLY good about this stuff without raising rates. Just make sure they repair everything correctly <_<
  23. I've heard that the 02-03 Rx300's had some changes to the tranny to make them more reliable, but truthfully i don't buy it... At the age of Rx300's out there, i'd stay away from the model unless you can afford a $4k transmission job at some point
  24. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214915 or http://www.lexuspartsonline.com/ ...not sure what the colors mean, i thought they were all black too.
  25. +1 always nice to hear something positive
