  1. So would it be touch screen though? Because the 010 Rx nav isn't touch screen, it uses that mouse thing... And are the screens the same size?
  2. You need to remove the wheel well liners towards the front to get to two bolts at the backk sides of the headlights. Then remove the mini grille (below the hood) and remove the bolts holding the headlights at the top. Then yank...
  3. I got the bulb out but I really need the pix in order to do this job. Where did they go? Can I find a diagram anywhere else? Have a 2004 LS430. Need to replace the HID bulbs. Please help!!! You've already got the HID bulb out? What do you need more help doing?
  4. Yeah, if your paint is single stage (i believe the black is) then your best bet is to fill the scratch with the black and then wetsand and polish (no clear required) Do NOT use regular touch up paint or paint from a store, go to an auto body shop and ask them to mix you a batch of paint giving them your paint code. They might charge you $20 or whatever, but it will be worth it. You need the professional stuff because it will cure HARD and fast.
  5. Do you want to switch navigation headunits from 2006 to 2010 ? DC, would that be possible? :whistles:
  6. Congrats on the car! In my opinion that generation GS when it came out in late 97 as a 98 model was WAY ahead of its time as far as styling goes. Even to the day it still looks new. I love it... Have you thought about upgrading the tail lights to the 01-05 GS type? Same size, direct replacements, they just look a little different.
  7. They are correct, you NEED a master key to program a new one. You need a key side by side with a new one to program it. It's a terrible design i know, but there's not much you can do...
  8. I'd think if you have the car serviced at any shop other than the Lexus dealer, prices would be the same. An extra qt of oil doesn't account for THAT much of an increase in price...
  9. Sorry to hear that happened, i can't even imagine. Sounds like they tried to take anything they could, the parts they did take will probably most likely end up on ebay I would file a claim with insurance, let the body shops and Lexus dealer take care of everything. I understand the shops concern with the airbag issue, personally if insurance is covering the cost i would WANT the lexus dealer helping with the airbag problem. Just let them fix everything and try not to worry about it. If they replace everything that was damaged, all is well.
  10. You mean the $40k taurus? Yes maybe a $40,000 Ford might have quality materials, but all of these qualities are lacking in Ford's remaining lineup.
  11. There are route preferences you can select from, quite a few actually. Take a look and see if anything looks wrong.
  12. How could oil changes be more expensive for the LS?? This must be a Lexus dealer-only scam technique...
  13. If Fords made today are still holding up 10 years from now then i'll change my mind about Ford's quality... I've sat in a few newer Fords and i still don't understand why people are saying their quality has improved.
  14. You need to contact member "dcfish" as hey knows all about radio/nav parts. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showuser=1634
  15. That's probably $6,000+ in damage, that car might be totaled.
  16. The 99-00 halogen headlights have the same wiring as the 01-03 halogen headlights. It's the 01-03 xenon headlights that have different wiring. All 99-03 year headlights attach the same way as well. The headlights you posted will fit any 99-03 halogen headlight just fine.
  17. much better looking than the current generation, i like the facelift.
  18. Oops, I forgot your age - that explains everything! :chairshot: duh! lol...
  19. What area of the car got damaged? Was there any frame damage?
  20. You can get a set of factory chromed wheels on ebay for pretty cheap- that's the best look IMO. And you will need the Lexus TPM sensors. And make sure the ones you get are of the same year and model, as i believe there are several types/generations out there. You'll also need the dealer to program them, as initially you cannot do it yourself. For the leather, NO DOUBT, the best cleaner/conditioner is the Leatherique "Leather Rejuvenator" and "Prestine Clean". Expensive but nothing else like it. As for the rear view mirror, you'll most likely need a replacement as what you described cannot be repaired. As for which years will fit, just as long as the mirror "looks" the same as yours with the same buttons etc, it will fit. If the mirror you buy has extra buttons or features, most likely the plugs will not be a match. Ebay should be your best bet.
  21. I only keep them on because my lights look good. <_< I've got the philips ultinon HID lows and yellow fogs, they have a lot of flicker effect during "dusk". I'm prepared to replace the few "bulbs" on the car that might blow out prematurely so it's OK...
  22. I know some of the Rx330's came with a "performance package" which came with adjustable ride height and i believe different shocks or whatever. Maybe there are OEM parts you can add to yours to get a better ride?
  23. I must admit i never liked the nudge bars the first time i saw them on other trucks and SUV's... but one day while searching for pictures of RX's on google i stumbled upon a few pictures with similar bars installed, and i started to like them. There were only a handful of nudge bars designed for the Rx400h, but i liked this one the best. It was only sold in the UK, and it was of course the second most... But it fits the bumper really well, and the lines meet perfectly. I think it gives it a lot of character. <_< And Angus, you're correct, the front emblem was not like that when i got it. In 08, Lexus gave the Rx400h a new rear emblem, with the blue accents around the chrome. But for the front, remained the standard silver one (to allow for better air flow, as mine has the towing package which requires extra cooling). So i bought a new 08+ rear emblem (same as the one on the tailgate) and retrofitted it to the front grille. I had to sand the oval area of the grille a little, and glued the emblem to the grille with Goop. It fits perfectly! You can't tell it's not factory. <_< But all the 08+ 400h's that came WITHOUT the towing package (which is a very small percentage believe it or not) have the matching emblem on the front already. You can buy this emblem (however i can't find any part numbers) and it will be a direct replacement to the standard silver one for the 400h, but the thundercloud grille i have uses a smaller emblem, so it wouldn't fit. So i figured i'd have to retrofit it anyways... There's actually a rear 08+ 400h emblem on ebay right now, the guy's asking $125+shipping with a make an offer option. Brand new the emblem's $250 so it's already a deal, if you want to do what i did, this is you're best shot! :D http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120573539199&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
  24. Search here: http://www.lexuspartsonline.com/ or here http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214915 Select your year and model, then go through the menu's on the left until you narrow the part down. Prices at these sites are well below the price from the dealer, but shipping time can be a few weeks... All OEM parts though, same thing as from dealer.
  25. It might be useful in the dead of winter when i have a layer of sand and salt on the car (maybe?) but in the summer all it does is ruin the hood I tried chand3's idea of turning the headlights off, and it worked! The headlight washers did not spray. So i guess from now on i'll just have to make sure the headlights are off before i spray I usually leave my headlights on 24/7 so i guess that's why they've always gone off...
